Chapter 948: Chapter 36: Parasitic Star Crab

Bu Wang was stunned for a second, seemingly pondering who its sister was. Quickly, as the sea of white crabs surged in, Bu Wang turned and fled.

Crash～

The white crabs surged like a tide, they didn’t crawl forward individually, but gathered together, surging forward, far faster than individual crawling.

Faced with such a number of creatures, Su Xiao chose to avoid the edge, 1V1 was his forte, but against millions, it was no joke.

Su Xiao and Bu Wang were sprinting ahead, with the tide of white crabs behind them. Earlier, Bu Wang was a bit limping, but now it was no longer limping, after activating Full Speed Charge (Active), its speed vaguely threatened to surpass Su Xiao’s.

While fleeing, a Mechanical Eye flew from the front, which had been scouting the terrain of the Forest of the Strong.

Grabbing the Eye of the Apostle, Su Xiao aimed it at the crab tide behind him.

Skill 1, Nibble Planets (Passive Lv.59): Parasitic Star Crabs are herding creatures. If their numbers exceed 70 million, they begin to search for a small planet to parasitize, and nibble everything organic and inorganic on the planet until they have consumed the entire planet, at which point they will disguise as the planet, and any creatures entering it will be devoured.

Skill 2, Survive in an Oxygen-free Environment (Passive Lv.30): The leaf-shaped lungs within the Parasitic Star Crab’s shell can store large amounts of solid oxygen, allowing them to survive in oxygen-free environments for 30-50 years.

Skill 3, Mad Reproduction (Passive Lv.63): Parasitic Star Crabs are hermaphroditic with extremely strong reproductive ability (This ability has been sealed).

Skill 4, Acidic Body Fluids (Passive Lv.12): The saliva and blood of the Parasitic Star Crab are highly corrosive.

Skill 5, Group Disguise (Passive Lv.41): Parasitic Star Crabs can disguise as planets or mountains, waiting for prey to approach actively.

...

After examining the Parasitic Star Crab information, Su Xiao’s strides become more determined; battling such creatures offers no benefits. Not to mention their identity as Void creatures, their acidic body fluids mean they’re inedible.

Currently in the Forest of the Strong, food, freshwater, and Healing item supplies can’t be guaranteed, and getting injured in battle would be a bloody loss.

”Woof! Ha, ha, ha～”

Bu Wang, with its tongue out, glanced at the surging Parasitic Star Carp tide. Seeing at least a few million star crabs, its legs wobbled.

”Run towards the forest.”

Su Xiao didn’t look back, immediately heading towards the distant forest.

Splash～

The sound of shells colliding arose, the surge of Parasitic Star Crab behind increased, hundreds of Parasitic Star Crabs splattered like goddesses scattering flowers, flying towards Su Xiao and Bu Wang.

Hundreds of Parasitic Star Crabs flailing in mid-air, their pincers clenching and releasing, banging loudly, these palm-sized little things had terrifying strength in their pincers.

The flying speed of hundreds of Parasitic Star Crabs was extremely fast, they were launched out by the crab swarm to hold up Su Xiao and Bu Wang.

Previously Su Xiao found it odd that, despite there being a clean water source here, there were no other creatures nearby.

It turns out it’s not that there were no other creatures, but the other creatures were all devoured by the Parasitic Star Crabs. These terrifying creatures, which can gnaw planets, considered bones as a feast, leaving nothing behind.

Hundreds of Parasitic Star Crabs flew in, and Su Xiao paused, seeing his slowdown, Bu Wang also instinctively slowed down.

With a kick to Bu Wang’s rear, Su Xiao signaled Bu Wang to keep running.

Facing the swarm of Parasitic Star Crabs, Su Xiao pressed his hands together, and a 400-point strength Energy Shield appeared before him, his palms pushed forward, the Energy Shield slid forward.

Bang!!

The Parasitic Star Crab army crashed onto the Energy Shield, the impact caused at least thousands of Parasitic Star Crabs to shatter into pieces, but in the next moment, large cracks appeared on the Energy Shield, within two seconds, the Energy Shield shattered.

The 400-point strength Energy Shield wasn’t shattered by force. Given the strength of the Parasitic Star Crabs, even in a group charge, they couldn’t achieve it. The Energy Shield was eaten away, plus massive amounts of strong acid corroded the Energy Shield, causing it to shatter quickly.

Sss～

Green smoke rose, a pungent acidic smell spread.

After pushing out the Energy Shield, Su Xiao continued to flee. The quick disappearance of the Energy Shield warned him: he must not be encircled by the Parasitic Star Crab army, or he would surely die.

Creatures that survive in the Void have either horrific survival abilities or great strength. These millions of Parasitic Star Crabs are just a small tribe of them. If it were a large tribe, Alice wouldn’t dare bring them into the Ancient Castle, unless she wanted the castle to become a crab nest.

Moreover, Alice restricted the reproductive ability of the Parasitic Star Crabs, or the fourth floor of the Forest of the Strong in the castle would be emptied within a week, with all creatures, trees, and land becoming nutrients for the Parasitic Star Crabs.

Even with reproductive ability restricted, these Parasitic Star Crabs remain terrifying.

While escaping, Su Xiao thought about something he’d often heard about within Reincarnation Paradise, that there’s a place called the Void, where many planets and countless races exist.

From Su Xiao’s understanding, the Void isn’t a future-style place full of Space Warships; instead, it’s a coexistence of magic, technology, mysticism, biological evolution, and more. For powerful individuals, traversing the Void doesn’t require Space Warships; one can cross planets using Teleportation Formations with their body alone. Space Warships are vehicles used by weaker races and rarely appear in the Void.

Su Xiao couldn’t help but look forward, wondering if one day he could enter the Void to witness its scenery and strong beings, roaming freely in the Void would surely be thrilling. The Black Abyss and Demon Castle are merely small parts of the Void.

However, he currently lacks that ability and focuses on escaping the pursuit of the Parasitic Star Crabs.

The Parasitic Star Crabs clung relentlessly behind, heaven knows how vengeful these things are, Su Xiao only stepped into their territory and they’re chasing him relentlessly.

”Woof!”

Bu Wang barked loudly. Following Su Xiao all this time, facing off against anyone displeasing, this was one of its rare disgraceful escapes. Its expression clearly showed: ”I’m too precious for this grievance.”

”Endure, getting caught equals death.”

Su Xiao was also quite frustrated, but he wasn’t good at dealing with the Parasitic Star Crabs, and there were too many of them.

Quickly, Su Xiao and Bu Wang charged into the forest.

Crash～

The Parasitic Star Crab army followed closely, bursting into the forest. As they swept through, thick trees several people wide disappeared completely, yes, disappeared.

Moreover, the grass and even a layer of soil disappeared.

Seeing this, Bu Wang was no longer aggrieved but quickened its pace; where the Parasitic Star Crabs passed wasn’t desolated, but scoured, everything was instantly consumed by the crabs.
