Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 917: Chapter 6: The Wrong Approach

Creak～

The door was pushed open, and a robust, gray-black-skinned humanoid creature walked into the room. The creature was about three meters tall, bald, with thick lips, dressed in tattered burlap clothes, with thick fingers and skin as rough as sandpaper.

”Galu, Galu.”

The language of the humanoid creature was incomprehensible, its footsteps heavy. Due to being barefoot for a long time, the soles of its feet had developed thick calluses.

”Galu, clean up.”

The wolf steward gestured with his chin, and the humanoid creature named Galu stepped forward, carrying the corpse of the gloomy man. The burlap clothes were soaked with blood, but Galu didn’t seem to care.

From Su Xiao’s perspective, when Galu bent down, he could see the two flat bumps on Galu’s head, where two horns used to be but have now been sawn off.

Based on the known information, this humanoid creature named Galu is likely a demon servant, the original owner of the Demon Castle.

Galu carried the body of the gloomy man out of the room, leaving a trail of blood on the floor. From start to finish, Galu’s expression didn’t change much, aside from continuously muttering ’Galu, Galu.’ His eyes remained a dull, gray color.

The first round of the game ended, and the room was filled with the smell of blood. The gloomy man’s strength was not weak, but he was unlucky, neither having luck with blank shots nor having strong defense skills.

The detective little girl wiped the filth off her face. The strong smell of blood made her frown. Despite being a third-tier contractor, her complexion wasn’t great, but not to the extent of gagging.

It wasn’t just the detective little girl; everyone present was a third-tier contractor, including the National Team Brothers. Their promotion speed was not slow, and their strength matched their tier position, suggesting they had encountered some good fortune.

”Congratulations, everyone, you’ve successfully passed the first round of the game. For the next three days, you are free to move around on the first level of the Demon Castle.”

The wolf steward picked up the Fate Dominator from the ground and began wiping it with a white cloth.

Su Xiao, with Bubu Wang, walked out of the room, planning to explore the Demon Castle. According to the world introduction, there are 147 side quests here.

Upon stepping out, Su Xiao found the style of the Demon Castle similar to an ancient European castle.

The first floor of the castle was an open area covering about a thousand square meters. The space was elongated, resembling a rectangle, with dozens of stone columns and a stone floor.

The room Su Xiao previously occupied was on the east side of the open area. A few hundred meters away, on the west side, was an upward stone staircase, likely leading to the upper levels of the castle, which were already sealed off.

On the north and south sides of the open area, there were many rooms, conservatively estimated to be dozens, with their wooden doors tightly shut.

Magic lamps hung on the gray-black walls of the castle, and the interior was slightly dim.

The magic lamps flickered on and off, giving the entire castle an old and timeworn feel. Fortunately, it was well-ventilated here, without a damp and cold atmosphere.

After completing the first round of the game, players could freely move on the first level of the Demon Castle, which might be a sort of reward. Where the reward was, Su Xiao had to find out on his own.

Approaching a wooden door, the closest to him, Su Xiao examined it, noting a small line written on it.

’Candy is a great hard currency, do not attempt to open this door; you’ll regret it.’

Seeing this cryptic message, Su Xiao stood in front of the door, pondering. In the middle of the door was a fist-sized hole, and looking through it, all was dark inside.

After a moment of hesitation, Su Xiao tried knocking on the door.

Knock, knock, knock...

The room was silent, and after a few minutes, just as Su Xiao was about to try another room, a voice came from inside.

”Who～”

The voice was crisp, indicating that the room’s occupant was a little girl.

As Su Xiao thought about what tone to use to talk to the little girl inside, an eye approached the hole in the wooden door.

The eye was a light green, very clear.

”Big brother, can you give me candy?”

The eye retreated, replaced by a somewhat dirty little hand.

”Sure.”

Su Xiao looked at Bubu Wang, who didn’t have the habit of carrying candy. In Su Xiao’s storage space, there were many explosives, but not a single piece of candy.

Bubu Wang pulled out several fruit candies and milk candies, and Su Xiao placed them in the little hand, which quickly withdrew with a swoosh.

The sound of chewing came, and a few seconds later, the little hand extended again. Su Xiao continued to place candy.

After repeating this dozens of times, Su Xiao gestured to Bubu Wang, whose dog face showed embarrassment—he was out of candy.

Burp～ 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

A burp came from behind the wooden door.

”Thank you, big brother. I’m full, you’re a good person.”

The room quieted down. Su Xiao stood outside the door, feeling an urge to smash it down.

Knock, knock, knock...

Su Xiao knocked on the door again, but the room remained silent.

”That’s it? She ate ten pounds of candy...”

Su Xiao initially thought the conversation plus the candy would trigger a side quest. But now, it seemed this wasn’t the case—the little girl inside had eaten until she burped, and as for the side quest, there was no sign of it, just a parting ’You’re a good person.’

Undoubtedly, Su Xiao’s ’Gundam’ 8 points in charm attributes played a ’crucial role in this interaction. As for having Bubu Wang negotiate, through a wooden door, Bubu Wang couldn’t negotiate with just a bark.

Su Xiao squinted, hesitating whether to slash down the wooden door, drag the little girl out, and make her reorganize her words.

After much deliberation, Su Xiao decided to play it safe, but he didn’t leave. Instead, he leaned against a stone column a few dozen meters away to observe.

Half an hour later, a contractor approached the wooden door—it was the Golden Glasses Man.

The Golden Glasses Man didn’t look pleased. It seemed he’d been rejected many times. To get a side quest from the NPC inside the wooden door, it wasn’t enough to have high charm attributes; compatibility also mattered. If the compatibility was off, no amount of charm would help.

Knock, knock, knock...

The Golden Glasses Man knocked on the door. Moments later, he offered a few candies and conversed with the little girl inside. A silver-bell-like laughter occasionally came from the room.

Ten minutes later, the door opened a crack, and an envelope was handed out. The Golden Glasses Man left with a pleased expression.

Su Xiao exchanged a glance with Bubu Wang. Could they let this go? Of course not! Bubu Wang was so angry its nose was crooked; that was its candy.

With determination and dignity, the man and the dog marched toward the wooden door. Even if it meant drawing their weapons, Su Xiao intended to see this through.

’Candy is a great hard currency, but do not attempt to open this door; you’ll regret it.’

This phrase seemed to warn against entering the room, but in reality, it was bluffing. Just now, the wooden door was opened from the inside. If there truly were something dangerous inside, the Golden Glasses Man’s expression would have changed significantly.

Besides, the wolf steward’s earlier words were intriguing—the freedom to move freely on the first floor was worth contemplating.

Su Xiao stood in front of the wooden door.

Knock, knock, knock!

The knocking on the door was loud.

”Big...big brother, you’re a good person. Thank you for the candy.”

Seemingly aware that something was off with the knocking, the voice from inside the room was somewhat shaky.

”That candy... was delicious, right?”

Su Xiao wasn’t one to suffer in silence, especially since he had thought of a new way to handle this.

If charm attributes were lacking and compatibility was off, then he would put the plot character under the knife. He enhanced his other four attributes, significantly making up for the lack of charm attributes.
