Chapter 943: Chapter 31: Survival

Alice’s figure quickly disappeared, having entered the fourth floor.

On the third floor, the Golden Glasses Man and the Detective Little Girl leaned back on the sofa. For them, the pressure of the third game was significant, as they could be killed by Alice’s clone at any moment during the dark night.

”Is the fourth game a survival competition?”

The National Foot Boss looked serious, glancing at the National Foot Elder Two and Elder Three. After a few seconds of eye contact, the three brothers smiled simultaneously, with a hint of sneakiness evident in their smiles.

”Finally, it’s a game our brothers specialize in. We’re very skilled at survival games.”

”Big brother, it’s time to unleash our big move.”

”Let’s go.”

The three National Team Brothers strode confidently toward the fourth floor, feeling extremely frustrated with the puzzle games on the third floor.

”As long as it’s not a puzzle game, I’m fine.”

Su Xiao lightly rubbed his temples. He had burned quite a few brain cells on the third floor, and it proved that he wasn’t very good at puzzle games. If not for the clues being sufficiently explicit and Alice being overly eager to kill him, he probably wouldn’t have deduced who Alice was.

”If it’s survival, I am good at that too.”

Pibang also proceeded toward the fourth floor, and the Detective Little Girl exchanged a glance with the Golden Glasses Man.

”How about we team up?”

The Detective Little Girl suggested, with a flash in the Golden Glasses Man’s eyes. But for some reason, he always had a feeling that the Detective Little Girl wasn’t as fragile as she appeared.

”That suits me fine, but neither of us is very strong in combat, so we need to be careful in a survival game.”

”Alright, we’ll rely on you, Brother Walsh.”

”I would love to confidently say that I’ve got it covered, but I don’t have that kind of ability.”

The two began discussing the specifics of a temporary team, and it seemed they also intended to include Pibang in their group.

Su Xiao wasn’t interested in this temporary team. If the two teamed up, who knows what kind of trouble they would stir up. The Golden Glasses Man has the Charm Talent, and most Charism Specialized Contractors have strange abilities with multiple branches.

As for the Detective Little Girl, she seems delicate but is in fact deeply concealed. So far, Su Xiao still doesn’t know her combat style. Regarding the pure support claim, that’s a joke; a pure support would never survive the second round with the poison dragon meat. Even with a gold substitute item, eating the poison dragon meat causes percent-based true damage, which is terrifying. The Detective Little Girl was the first to finish the poison dragon meat. Would such a Contractor be pure support?

Ignoring the scheming of the two, Su Xiao continued toward the fourth floor. If they conspired to trap him, it would be simple, he’d just kill them; not getting killed would be their problem.

Su Xiao stepped onto the stone stairs, and as soon as he stepped on, the sensation of penetrating a thin membrane reoccurred. Behind him, Bubu Wang sneezed.

”What’s wrong?”

”Woof.”

Bubu Wang sniffed and shook his head, indicating nothing was wrong.

As Su Xiao penetrated the membrane, the sensory perception around him changed. There was a fresh scent of earth after the rain, and the air noticeably became clean.

A gentle breeze blew against him, and a few leaves were blown into the door opening ahead, eventually landing on the stone stairs.

Seeing the green leaves and feeling the fresh air already in his lungs, Su Xiao made an initial guess about the environment on the fourth floor. If his guess were correct, the fourth floor would be quite expansive.

Footsteps came from behind, belonging to the Detective Little Girl and the Glasses Man, who had agreed upon joining forces to form a team.

Su Xiao continued forward and walked out of the doorway. Blinding sunlight greeted his eyes.

His pupils quickly adapted to the light, revealing a vast forest ahead. The trees were somewhat sparse, swaying as the breeze blew, with the leaves rustling.

The small grass on the ground was of uniform height, as if carefully trimmed.

Su Xiao looked up into the sky and saw that the glaring sunlight was not a natural climate, but emitted by a giant golden fireball above. The fourth-floor sky had an artificial sun.

If not for the doorway behind him reminding him that he was still in the Demon Castle, Su Xiao would have thought he entered a great forest,

”Gentlemen, welcome to the fourth floor of the castle, the Forest of the Strong.”

The Wolf Steward stood beside a towering ancient tree, with Pibang and the National Team Brothers nearby. Alice’s clone had vanished without a trace.

Not far from the Wolf Steward was a small wooden house. In front of the house stood a wooden block where a Demon Servant sat, holding a wood carving in his hands.

”Galu, Galu...”

The Demon Servant mumbled ”Galu,” his vacant eyes seemingly gazing at the wood carving, which was only half-finished but vaguely resembled the shape of a castle.

”Have those ’guests’ been released, Galu.”

The Wolf Steward spoke coldly, seemingly a bit hostile toward the Demon Servant.

”Galu~”

The Demon Servant nodded without raising his head to look at the Wolf Steward.

”That’s good. If those ’guests’ don’t follow the rules, you’re responsible for disposing of them.”

”Galu.”

After receiving the Demon Servant’s response, the Wolf Steward turned to Su Xiao and the others.

”Everyone, the fourth floor’s game content is simple: survive for five days in the Forest of the Strong. That wooden house contains your supplies; there is food, fresh water, and medicine inside, but the quantity is limited.”

The Wolf Steward led the group toward the wooden house. When Su Xiao reached the house, he found there were seven black leather backpacks inside.

The Wolf Steward entered the wooden house and tossed the leather backpacks to everyone one by one.

Su Xiao caught a backpack, untied the rope on top, and discovered inside was a wooden bucket containing approximately 1.2 liters of water, about the size of a large bottle of cola. Besides a bucket of water, the backpack contained several large pieces of jerky and a small iron box.

Opening the iron box, he found a milky white ointment inside. Judging by its smell and ingredients, it seemed to be an alchemy-type topical medicine effective for cuts and burns but likely incapable of restoring life value, serving only a healing effect with no recovery effect.

Food, water, and injury medicine were the only items in the backpack.

Seeing these items, Su Xiao felt both puzzled and uneasy. This setup was somewhat familiar, so he instinctively opened his storage space.

The storage space functioned normally, which allowed him to breathe a sigh of relief.

”Ladies and gentlemen, these are the only supplies you can acquire without taking risks for the next five days. Of course, this game would be too boring if it were solely about survival. Queen Alice wouldn’t be satisfied.

There are seven gamers participating in the fourth game, but only six can pass.

In addition to you seven, the forest is inhabited by numerous other creatures, some strong and some weak. Killing these creatures will earn you game points.

After five days, if the number of survivors is seven, the gamer with the lowest score will be eliminated. There are three ways to earn points:

First, kill creatures from various planets in the forest, which can earn you 1-2 points each.

Second, kill the ’guests’ in the forest. These ’guests’ are prisoners Queen Alice recently captured. If they kill you, they will gain their freedom, so even if you don’t seek them out, they will come to you. Killing these ’guests’ earns 2-3 points.

Third, kill Queen Alice’s clone, which will earn you 1,000 game points.

In addition to these three methods, you may choose to eliminate competitors among yourselves. If one of you dies, there will be enough quotas for the remaining six. However...

The gamer with the highest score can select any one treasure from the castle’s treasury. You can choose anything, as long as it’s within the treasure house. Incidentally, Queen Alice boasts a collection of 1,582,043 items.”
