Chapter 919: Chapter 8: Terrifying Skill Levels

The previous lessons with the National Foot and the Golden Glasses Man were still fresh in their minds, and the Cat Woman and Detective Little Girl began to watch quietly. One dared not go forward, and the other didn’t want to be the vanguard.

At this time, it was a matter of whose head was harder. Just as Su Xiao was about to step forward, he noticed Pibang already striding ahead.

Pibang was chewing on jerky as he walked straight to the door, lifted his foot, and kicked the wooden door, wearing a casual smile on his face.

Bang, the door was kicked open. Pibang entered the room, and the wooden door slammed shut with great force, indicative of the door-closing party’s anger.

Thud! Boom!

Roaring sounds echoed from inside the room, and a few seconds later, a round figure flew out of the room—Pibang.

Pibang landed on the ground with a thud, bounced a few times, stabilized his figure, stepped hard on the ground, and charged back into the room.

Dozens of seconds later, the wooden door opened, and Pibang emerged, with a bruised face, limping, and appearing much thinner.

”Almost died, that woman is too strong.”

Pibang spat out bloody saliva, feeling a bit depressed. His pace seemed off—apparently, his crotch had suffered a heavy blow.

”Brother, you’ve lost some weight.”

National Foot Elder Three approached to ’comfort’.

”Do I look exhausted?”

”Yes.”

”Done, no way, balls ache~”

Pibang walked towards the other wooden doors. As soon as he turned his back, his expression changed dramatically, his lips puckered, and his eyes widened. Pain was evident.

Realizing Pibang returned empty-handed, the Cat Woman and Detective Little Girl began to select their targets.

In this reward segment, time was precious. Finding a plot character that could negotiate was the best tactic. Of course, if possible, everyone would choose to negotiate with the Wolf steward or Demon Servant. These two were important figures within the Demon Castle, second only to Alice. The side quests they issued offered the richest rewards.

Others selected their targets, but Su Xiao remained still. He planned to give it a try.

Half an hour later, the other seven Contractors had entered various rooms to start negotiations or trades with the plot characters inside. Su Xiao approached that wooden door.

Su Xiao didn’t knock but stood in front of the door and inserted an introduction letter into the hole on the door.

”Scram!”

The same reply as before, but Su Xiao ignored it and continued inserting introduction letters.

One, two, three...

He had a lot of these items, and if they weren’t enough, he could get more. The girl who provided the introduction letters was a cowardly foodie. Food temptation alone wouldn’t work; with some ’gentle’ ’persuasion’, it wouldn’t be hard to get more introduction letters. Plus, he still had a big move, the delicacies made by Xia.

Most importantly, the cost of these introduction letters wasn’t high, evident from that 2-point rating.

After inserting ten letters, the woman inside the room began to grow impatient.

”Stop bothering me.”

Unmoved, Su Xiao continued to insert introduction letters.

Squeak, the door opened a crack, and a fair arm stretched out rapidly. Having anticipated this, Su Xiao retreated a few steps, and the hand grasped nothing.

Boom!

The door shut tightly, and heavy breathing could be heard inside the room—the woman inside was genuinely irritated by Su Xiao.

Su Xiao remained undaunted, persistently inserting introduction letters into the room.

”What do you want?”

The woman’s tone inside was unpleasant, seemingly annoyed by the letters, but that wasn’t the real reason.

Introduction letters were items certified by Reincarnation Paradise. Their main function was to make plot characters in the ancient castle, who were otherwise non-negotiable, open for negotiation.

Su Xiao’s strategy was simple: since the woman inside couldn’t be negotiated with, just keep inserting introduction letters until she could be negotiated with—if one wouldn’t work, try ten, if ten wouldn’t work, try twenty.

A commonality among Contractors who’d entered this room was that they all had introduction letters. The covers of those letters were different, indicating that the girl wasn’t the only one in the castle capable of making introduction letters.

After inserting twenty introduction letters, the wooden door slowly opened a crack.

Inside, it was pitch black, with a pin-drop silence.

After hesitating for a moment, Su Xiao entered the room carrying a stack of introduction letters.

The room was somewhat dim, about forty square meters in size, containing a bed and numerous exercise facilities, mostly stone, looking ancient and showing signs of long-term use.

On the bed sat a black-haired woman, her chest wrapped in linen, wearing tattered shorts below.

The woman’s black hair was tied with a hemp rope, and her exposed abdomen displayed clear muscular lines, but her physique wasn’t particularly robust.

Her most notable feature was her eyes, with black sclera and white pupils, the opposite of ordinary people.

”Did you kill An Liya?”

The woman’s voice was somewhat hoarse. As she sat there, she resembled a female leopard ready to pounce—wild, fierce.

”Just gave her some candy.”

”That glutton, even locked up she won’t give up eating.”

The woman studied Su Xiao and eventually shook her head.

”What do you want from me? If you can’t say, I’ll slaughter you.”

Upon hearing this, Su Xiao felt a sense of familiarity. Beside him, Bubu Wang barked, feeling the same familiarity. The words ’slaughter you’ were often spoken by Su Xiao.

”Purpose? Of course, to gain some benefit from you.”

From the woman’s words, Su Xiao sensed she seemed like a prisoner of the Demon Castle, unable to leave the room.

”To get something from me, you need to give something—similar to that bat who loves drinking human blood. To gain benefits from me, you must offer souls, high-purity souls. I don’t like your soul—too pungent with blood.”

The woman licked her lips, looking at Su Xiao with interest.

”High-purity souls?”

Su Xiao pondered for a moment and took out a Soul Crystal (small).

Swoosh~

The sound of the wind breaking came at him head-on, black hair fluttering, the woman had already pounced in front of Su Xiao, moving at a speed that was terrifying.

A 300-strength energy shield appeared in front of Su Xiao.

Claw light dodged, leaving several deep claw marks on the energy shield.

With a crack, the energy shield shattered, and the woman actually tore through the 300-strength energy shield with her fingertips.

Su Xiao gripped the handle of the Dragon Slash, and the moment the sword was unsheathed, his aura changed.

Clang!

The long knife collided with the sharp fingertips, sending two fingernails flying.

”Oh~”

The woman had retreated at some point, looking at the evenly cut fingertips with a hint of surprise in her eyes.

”Not bad reaction.”

The woman flexed her ten fingers, and part of the nails automatically dropped from all ten fingers as she clenched her fists, full of wildness.

Su Xiao held the Dragon Slash horizontally in front of him, and after the woman clenched her fists, he felt a chill running down his spine.

Buzz~

A strange sound echoed in the room, the woman’s body went limp, and she collapsed to the ground.

”Ah!”

The woman covered her ears, screaming in pain. The sound was extremely oppressive to her, while Su Xiao only found it a bit piercing with no other abnormalities.

”A-li-ce!!”

Drool trickled from the corners of the woman’s mouth, after a long while, the strange sound faded, and she was exhausted.

”As you can see, I’m just a prisoner, Alice’s prisoner. So give me that thing, everything in the castle is a fair trade, you’ve passed my test. As long as you give up the pure soul, I can teach you my skills. With the help of that bitch Alice, you can master these skills quickly.”

Lying on the ground, the woman swung her legs over the bed, looking up at Su Xiao.

”I’m very interested.”

Su Xiao tossed the Soul Crystal (Small) in his hand, and who knew after this action, the woman’s demeanor completely changed!

The woman, who was exhausted just a moment ago, suddenly sprang up from the ground, opening her mouth wide, catching the Soul Crystal (Small) mid-air.

Crack, crack...

The woman chewed the Soul Crystal (Small) as if she were eating a candy bean.

That wasn’t even the point, at this moment Su Xiao had a feeling, it was as if he was feeding her~

...

Seeing these attributes, Su Xiao’s pupils constricted. If this woman named Sha were not sealed, in a combat between the two, Su Xiao would either be killed instantly or within a few moves.

Skill 4: Scorpion Tail Whip (Active Level 69), what a terrifying skill level. If not sealed, the power of this move, not to mention destroying heaven and earth, would be more than enough to kick Su Xiao to death.

Undoubtedly, Sha is a close combat expert and is imprisoned here.

Seeing the way she trembled with enjoyment while eating the Soul Crystal (Small), not to mention learning her combat skills, if Su Xiao could offer a Soul Crystal (Large), even if he brought it up, Sha might not refuse, with that feeding-like look she had just now, any strong person’s dignity, after being imprisoned for who knows how long, Sha had long abandoned that thing.

This is a great opportunity to enhance close combat abilities. Su Xiao checked the number of Soul Crystals in Storage Space.

[Soul Crystal (Small) ×8]

[Soul Crystal (Medium) ×5]

The reserve of Soul Crystals is still sufficient, as for how many Soul Crystals to pay, it still depends on how much benefit Su Xiao can get. If the cost and gain are not equivalent, he will stop trading with Sha.
