Chapter 904: Chapter 30: A Drastic Change in Art Style!

Chapter 34: The Art Style Drastically Changes!

Su Xiao didn’t interrupt Seven Sin Desires; even if the latter spoke for a day, he wouldn’t interrupt. Instead, he’d ’listen’ patiently.

It wasn’t that Su Xiao had a personality change, becoming merciful; it was because his Life Value was below 30%, and all his Healing items were used up against One-Way Street. In his current state, if a fight broke out, there was over a 90% chance he would die.

As for going berserk, Su Xiao didn’t believe in it at all. Since entering Reincarnation Paradise, he’s never gone berserk, not because he didn’t want to, but because he couldn’t. If there’s too much disparity in combat strength and status between both parties, Su Xiao would still die.

Not fearing death and courting death are two different concepts. Su Xiao didn’t want to die just yet, so he’d continue listening to the other party’s nonsense. With Bubu Wang’s Aura around, he’d recover soon enough for a fight.

”This negotiation seems insincere.”

The angered person spoke, and after he did, the seven people in the Experimental Institution walked deeper inside. As they left, a man in a black robe with a hood appeared.

The man pulled off the hood on his head, revealing a face full of cracks.

”With this ghostly appearance, I can’t even get a girl. The girls I lure with my ability are just RB|Q, not interested at all. Besides, I’m not that kind of person.”

The man was none other than Seven Sin Desires. He smiled at Su Xiao and sat cross-legged on a broken alloy pillar. Seeing this, Su Xiao was a bit puzzled. In a standoff, sitting like this means he’s either supremely confident or lacking combat experience.

”I tested you once with the Scythe of Seven Desires earlier. I wasn’t trying to kill you, just seeing if you’re an unreasonable lunatic. Thankfully, you aren’t. ’I’ve’ met six Hunters, one of them was a complete psycho. That guy almost blew me to bits... sigh, forget it.”

Seven Sin Desires brushed his hand across his face, and his eyes narrowed when touching the cracks.

”I was originally just a Worker, an Intelligence Merchant, somewhat famous in Paradise. In a certain Derivative World, I got parasitized by a Void creature. That bastard, as I mentioned before, didn’t know his own limits, got stronger using Reincarnation Paradise resources while mocking its warnings. We became Violators together after three warnings, and I was just a newcomer among Violators back then.”

Seven Sin Desires sighed deeply, his tone a bit helpless.

”During a battle with a Hunter, the Void creature parasitizing me died, and I regained control just before War World. I have to say, I was lucky.”

At this, Seven Sin Desires laughed heartily.

”Honestly, I’m very afraid of you, which is why I appeared after your fight with One-Way Street. Because of that Void creature, my originally weak Talent became very strong, with three Attributes reaching 80 points. It’s like winning a 50 billion lottery. But...”

Seven Sin Desires’ tone shifted.

”I lack combat experience, and time is short. I’m just a paper tiger now, and without that Void creature, I won’t last long, especially since I’m being hunted by madmen like you guys. Although it sounds offensive, Hunters, from my perspective, are even crazier than travel group members, professional Executioners, with each one’s combat strength at monster level.”

To his credit, Seven Sin Desires was very astute. From initially being enigmatic to now pouring his heart out, he’s even started to flatter?!

This kind of ’giant panda’ among Violators, Su Xiao indeed encountered for the first time.

”Your goal?”

Su Xiao spoke up, surprising Seven Sin Desires.

”I thought you got deducted Paradise coins every time you spoke. Does being a Hunter come with a cold skill?”

The transition in the style was so rapid; Seven Sin Desires’ Aura was eerie and mysterious, while his personality was different. He seemed like a Worker who’d just entered Reincarnation Paradise, conversationally resembling a Worker.

”My goal is simple: to shed the Violator identity. This is suicidal. Before entering Reincarnation Paradise, I was just an ordinary person. This awesome identity, please just remove it. I just want to continue selling intelligence. Battles result in blood flying everywhere. I have no stomach for killing enemies. Give me a chance to sell intelligence; I’ve always been caught in crossfire.”

Seven Sin Desires stared intently at Su Xiao. This bizarre ’abnormal’ Violator left Su Xiao somewhat speechless. Has he been seeking a truce all along?

Of course, Su Xiao won’t completely trust Seven Sin Desires’ words. Until the threat is entirely eliminated, he won’t drop his guard.

”Paradise, abnormal Violator actions... abnormal...”

Su Xiao attempted to contact Reincarnation Paradise. In most cases, Reincarnation Paradise would respond to information about Violators.

[Judging...]

Once the prompt from Reincarnation Paradise appeared, Seven Sin Desires seemed to receive some kind of notification, his expression changing repeatedly.

”Erase all memories regarding Violators and Hunters, replacing them with other memories...”

Seven Sin Desires lowered his head, lost in thought.

”I... refuse...”

Seven Sin Desires clenched his fist, his eyes downcast. He indeed didn’t want to be a Violator, but his personal hobby was somewhat unusual. He loved collecting intelligence, reveling in that sense of mastery over things, much like Su Xiao’s obsession with growing stronger.

Information related to Hunters and Violators was a treasure of immeasurable value to Seven Sin Desires, something he wouldn’t even trade for Golden Quality equipment.

And now, he faced a choice: permanently erase all memories pertaining to Hunters and Violators, a process irreversible, becoming a Contractor. In the future Derivative Worlds he’d face, each would have two Main Tasks, with rewards one-third, World Source halved, Paradise coin earnings halved, Attribute point gains halved, lasting until he undergoes an A-level Evaluation in four Derivative Worlds.

”I... agree.”

Seven Sin Desires leaned back, collapsing on the ground. Though he’d lose much, he’d also gain much, like various Contractor authorities and Reincarnation Paradise’s Healing Authority. More importantly, he wouldn’t be hunted by madmen, which was key. Although Seven Sin Desires’ Attributes and Skills were formidable, he’d been in a haze since the parasite, not fully aware of situations until it died, thus his mindset was still that of a Worker. Upon close contact with Su Xiao, his legs trembled uncontrollably, solidifying his intentions.

”See you around; next time we meet, I’ll probably have to reintroduce myself.”

Seven Sin Desires lay on the ground, his body gradually turning transparent, forcefully teleported back to Reincarnation Paradise. His experiences were quite special, and since he didn’t intentionally ignore the three warnings, plus his ’combat strength’ wasn’t too shabby, he was granted a chance. For a new Contractor to grow to his level, they’d have to go through many Derivative Worlds, each carrying the risk of premature demise.

As per Su Xiao’s known intelligence, one of Reincarnation Paradise’s goals in empowering Contractors is to seize worlds during War World.

For instance, in the previous War World, Su Xiao, Yan Chen, and others helped Reincarnation Paradise capture a Wild World.

Of course, Reincarnation Paradise likely has other reasons for strengthening Contractors, but those are beyond Su Xiao’s current Authority.
