Chapter 946: Chapter 34: Guests

Aware of the gaze representing dog meat soup, Bubu Wang bristled.

”Woof!”

Bubu Wang turned around and wagged its tail at the five silver-scale creatures, the provocation couldn’t be more obvious.

”Balaku! (Unknown language)”

A silver-scale creature roared, its scales opened up like sharp blades, serving both defensive purposes and allowing it to harm enemies at close range.

The five silver-scale creatures took large steps, quickly charging towards Bubu Wang; the ’dog meat soup’ was right in front of them, and in this food-scarce Forest of the Strong, they couldn’t afford to miss out.

Bubu Wang appeared as steady as an old dog, but deep down it was terribly panicked, its paws digging into the soft soil, then turned and fled.

Bubu Wang’s retreat without a fight made the five silver-scale creatures laugh out loud, as they closed in on Bubu Wang like a pack of hunters.

However, these five silver-scale creatures didn’t know that the Soul Reaper had already set its sights on them.

The five silver-scale creatures quickly dashed to the tree where Su Xiao was located; this was the result of Bubu Wang’s deliberate lure.

Su Xiao had been lying in ambush in the tree for a while, he silently jumped down from the tree, and the Slaughter Dagger had somehow appeared in his hand.

Su Xiao’s body descended rapidly, and with the sound of the wind above, the footsteps of the five silver-scale creatures halted mid-chase, they instinctively looked up.

One silver-scale creature looked up and saw a black shadow less than two meters away.

An energy shield covered Su Xiao’s right knee, and utilizing the falling momentum from the height, his knee struck the silver-scale creature’s heavenly spirit cover from below.

With a crack, the crisp sound of bone breaking echoed, the neck of the silver-scale creature twisted unnaturally, but its hands instinctively reached for Su Xiao, showing the fierce combat abilities of this Exotic Realm race.

Su Xiao flipped his body using the force from the knee collision with the enemy’s heavenly spirit cover, maintaining his balance while also dodging the silver-scale creature’s grasp.

Landing steadily, dry leaves blew away, Su Xiao crouched, the Slaughter Dagger flipped in his hand, changing from a forward grip to a reverse grip.

With a quick glance around, Su Xiao noticed the silver-scale creature before him, stunned from the heavenly spirit cover impact, while the other four had just turned their heads.

Su Xiao dashed forward, approaching the dizzy silver-scale creature, sidestepped it, and came behind it.

Slaughter Dagger positioned at the silver-scale creature’s throat, Su Xiao cut it down forcefully.

With a slicing sound, the blade cut through skin, muscle, bone, leaving a fierce wound; the Slaughter Dagger is meant for throat slashing, ignoring 60% of defense for additional damage. It also conducts a stamina check on the enemy, causing a bleeding effect if failed; bleeding damage is 4% of the enemy’s maximum life value per second, lasting 10 seconds.

Blood gushed out with a bubbling sound, no indicator needed for Su Xiao to know that Blood Weeping (passive) was successful.

The silver-scale creature in front of Su Xiao went limp, he grabbed its nape, swung it up, and threw it at another silver-scale creature charging towards him.

Blood sprayed through the air, with a bang, the two silver-scale creatures collided, one losing its life aura from the collision while the surviving one got splashed with blood all over its face.

Sizzle～

A green metal wire wrapped around this silver-scale creature, it’s the Boundary Line.

Su Xiao stepped forward, the Slaughter Dagger in his hand vanished, replaced by Dragon Slash, with such rapid switching enabled by one of the Slaughter Dagger’s abilities.

Equipment Effect 4, Rapid Switching (active): +70% weapon switching speed.

Because of this attribute, Su Xiao uses the Slaughter Dagger as a secondary weapon, and of course, its golden quality relates to this choice too.

Dragon Slash appeared; if the Slaughter Dagger feels nimble and bloodthirsty, then Dragon Slash is purely sharp, with a single glance causing eye-piercing sharpness.

Holding Dragon Slash, Su Xiao’s aura changed; he transitioned from sneak attacking to confronting head-on.

Clang!

Several blade auras flew out, slashing at the silver-scale creature wrapped by Boundary Line; fear welled in its eyes, struggling desperately to break free from the Boundary Line’s restraint.

Yet the Boundary Line, upgraded to dark purple and enhanced +10, wasn’t something it could break free from; even some third-tier big bosses couldn’t break it, its durability was incredibly high, standing at 280 points. Over 90% of gold equipment doesn’t have such high durability.

”Ah!!”

The silver-scale creature bound by Boundary Line roared in anger, the line leaving bloody marks all over it.

Thump.

Blade auras slashed through, blood splattered, and six intercrossed blade auras shattered the silver-scale creature.

Su Xiao tugged the Boundary Line, the thin wire catching a whiff of a blood line in the air.

Three silver-scale creatures survived on the scene, Su Xiao redirected his gaze at them, slightly surprised.

The three silver-scale creatures distanced themselves ten meters from Su Xiao; after witnessing two of their kind being killed instantly, the remaining silver-scale creatures didn’t think of revenge but decided decisively to flee!

These silver-scale creatures weren’t little monsters from a game; they didn’t fight Su Xiao endlessly due to a ’hate mechanism.’ Coming from an unknown planet, once there’s a significant difference in power, they would escape immediately.

As the three silver-scale creatures bolted off, Bubu Wang blocked their path.

”Laka!!”

A silver-scale creature roared; without translation, Su Xiao knew it meant something like ’Move, make way.’

Bubu Wang didn’t budge an inch; it hadn’t forgotten about the ’dog meat soup’ feud, Bubu Wang surely held grudges.

Blocked by Bubu Wang for a moment, and given the significant speed difference between Su Xiao and the silver-scale creatures, he caught up with them shortly after.

As the blade flashed, a silver-scale creature, unable to turn around in time, had its head severed. Wide and sweeping, this was Su Xiao’s blade-swinging habit; either don’t get cut by him or leave behind ’spare parts’ once you are.

The remaining two silver-scale creatures halted; they assessed the current situation.

Crack, crack...

Cracks appeared on the bodies of the two silver-scale creatures; witnessing this, Su Xiao stopped abruptly and leaped back, while Bubu Wang rolled lazily behind a large tree, flinging dirt around as if digging a pit.

Boom, boom!

Two explosions erupted, blood mist rose, dense silver scales shot rapidly around.

Rat-a-tat-tat...

The tree hiding Bubu Wang was instantly reduced to a sieve, Bubu Wang let out a howl of pain.

Compared to Bubu Wang, the silver scales fired more intensely toward Su Xiao.

Intuition ability fully activated, but there were too many silver scales, Su Xiao couldn’t dodge them all; a 200-point strength energy shield appeared before him.

With a snap, the energy shield was shattered, the kinetic force of the silver scales greatly reduced, Su Xiao tilted his body while slashing out several times, sparks flew, with the deflected silver scales embedding into nearby trees.

The forest returned to tranquility, Su Xiao sheathed Dragon Slash, unharmed; these silver-scale creatures weren’t very strong.

Despite their lackluster strength, the silver-scale creatures self-destructed with tremendous damage. Those silver scales could instantly penetrate a 200-point strength energy shield, demonstrating their destructive power.

These silver-scale creatures were likely the ’Guests’ the wolf steward referred to; if all guests had such destructive power, the danger level of the Forest of the Strong would escalate sharply.

More importantly, these ’Guests’ could never coexist peacefully with gamers; if ’Guests’ could kill gamers, they would regain freedom.
