Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

”No way!”

Mine widened her eyes, staring at the scene before her, feeling like she was dreaming.

The Emperor is dead?

Minister Ernest is dead too?

Grand General Budd is dead too?

Just like that, they’re dead?

Completely different from what Mine had imagined, they were killed so easily under the eyes of everyone, making Mine feel somewhat unreal.

”Are you okay, Mine.”

At this moment, a voice rang out. Mine turned her head and saw Akame draped in a cloak appearing beside her, staring at her. The guards who were supposed to be watching over her and Hill seemed completely unaware, their weapons fell to the ground, and each of them gazed at the figure on the high platform as if watching a terrifying nightmare, not even noticing Akame had come to their side.

And Akame didn’t care about the guards, directly pulling out Murasame. With a flash of her sword, the chains that bound Mine and Hill were immediately cut off.

”Thanks, whew... but it still feels a little eerie.”

Stretching her wrists, Mine looked at the Murasame in Akame’s hand. Even though she knew the curse of Murasame had been ”killed,” years of impression couldn’t be changed so quickly.

”It’s okay.”

”I know, it’s just a habit... Hill, are you alright?”

”Yeah... I’m okay.”

Hearing Mine’s inquiry, Hill nodded, and at this moment, those guards also finally realized something was wrong. They turned their heads, looking at the three, but to Mine’s surprise, they didn’t come up to fight. Instead, they froze for a moment, then screamed and turned to flee.

”This...”

Watching the panicked guards, Mine stood there, not knowing how to react.

”Oh my, oh my, they are really flustered.”

Meanwhile, another voice rang out. Turning around, Mine saw Chelsea, smiling, standing beside them out of nowhere.

”The entire arena is chaotic now. To be honest, I didn’t expect Mr. Fang Zheng to be this bold... Here, your Teigu, the ones holding the Teigu are so scared they’ve lost their minds, which is understandable, considering the Emperor and Minister Ernest are dead...”

As she spoke, Chelsea handed the two Teigu on her back to Hill and Mine.

”How’s the situation outside now?”

At this moment, Fang Zheng also walked over slowly and asked. Chelsea just giggled.

”It’s chaotic, especially in the palace, and the outside isn’t much better. Many citizens have come out spontaneously to protest, and they’re eager to hear a few words from the hero who killed the Emperor and the minister.”

Saying this, Chelsea winked playfully at Fang Zheng.

”Aren’t you going to say a few words? You might even become the Emperor.”

”I’m tired of being an Emperor, and playing these tricks once is enough. Doing it a second time would be boring.”

Fang Zheng showed no interest. In fact, the current situation was almost a repeat of the time with Xiang Yu. Back then, Fang Zheng occupied Xianyang, and Xiang Yu came to seize the throne. Now Fang Zheng occupies the Imperial City, facing Esdeath’s challenge. Of course, if Fang Zheng wanted, he could destroy Esdeath and then take over the empire again... But as Fang Zheng said, he’s bored of being the Emperor. It’s assassin’s vacation time, so he doesn’t want to play the Emperor anymore.

”Really? Aren’t you afraid the Revolutionary Army will come to steal your victory?”

”If they’re not afraid of Esdeath, let them come.”

Fang Zheng dismissed Chelsea’s question with a sneer. It was a joke—Esdeath wasn’t dead yet, and the Revolutionary Army dared to occupy the Imperial City? Do they think they’ve lived long enough?

”But still, a few words need to be said.”

Fang Zheng clapped his hands, then leaped, bringing the Emperor’s corpse to the high wall. At this point, many people had gathered in the direction of the arena. Many had heard the news of the Emperor’s death but couldn’t believe it, so they broke through the city gates to confirm it for themselves.

Then they saw it—Fang Zheng standing on the high wall, holding the Emperor’s corpse.

”The Emperor is dead.”

Looking at the crowd below, Fang Zheng casually tossed forward, and the next moment, the Emperor’s frail body flew off the high wall, then fell like a bungee jump.

Watching the Emperor hanging from the city wall, the crowd gasped in shock.

”Ernest is dead too.”

Fang Zheng waved his hand, and soon, the second corpse dangled down.

”Budd is dead too.”

As each body appeared, the crowd gasped repeatedly, until finally, the surroundings fell into deathly silence.

”The Empire is dead.”

Later, Fang Zheng spread out his hands.

”But this doesn’t mean anything. You are still here, still living on this land. The old Empire is dead, and a new Empire will come. As long as you’re here, this country will not be destroyed. Remember, the Emperor is just a symbol, a power given by the people. Without the people, it loses power and meaning.”

Fang Zheng lowered his head, while the crowd remained silent, staring at him.

”Go back, keep living as usual. You’ll find that the world won’t stop spinning because someone has died. Oh, by the way, I must add, we are still here. Even though we won’t ascend to the throne to become Emperor, we are still watching everyone. If any of you think of seizing this opportunity to kill, rob, commit evil, then remember that we are watching you.”

”......”

No one spoke. Soon, the crowd gradually dispersed, their steps calm and ordinary, just like Fang Zheng said, as if they just came here for a walk and then returned to their lives. Fang Zheng glanced around, and only after the crowd left did he turn back into the arena.

”What’s next?”

Seeing Fang Zheng return to the arena, Chelsea curiously asked, and Fang Zheng shrugged.

”We just need to wait for Esdeath to come back. But before that, we seem to have one last trouble to handle.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng looked towards the entrance of the arena.

At the same time, two figures were walking out.

”Sister......”

Kurotou gripped the handle of her sword tightly, her face pale as she stared at Akame. Beside her, a girl with red hair and dressed in a green dress also held a sharp blade, looking at everyone expressionlessly.

”Heitong......”

Looking at her sister, Akame hesitated for a moment, then stepped forward. But just at this moment, Fang Zheng stopped her.

”You take on the redhead, leave your sister to me.”

”......I understand.”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s order, Akame hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded. She glanced at Heitong, then turned towards the red-haired girl. However, Heitong just stared at her sister, walking towards her. But just then, Fang Zheng blocked her path.

”Move aside.”

”Your opponent is me.”

Looking at Heitong, Fang Zheng chuckled, while Heitong clenched her teeth and raised her Teigu.

”Move aside!”

With a roar, Heitong swung her blade at Fang Zheng, but Fang Zheng casually deflected it with a light block.

”Alright, alright, sisterly quarrels should stop here. The Emperor is dead, what are you sulking over?”

”Shut up, what do you know!?”

At this moment, Heitong seemed to surrender to despair, furiously swinging her sword at Fang Zheng and shouting loudly.

”Since childhood, it was just me and my sister surviving together. I don’t want anything else, just to be with her. But she abandoned me, abandoned the Empire! Joined the Rebel Army!”

”Then why didn’t you join your sister?”

Fang Zheng twirled the Sleeve Sword in his hand, once again blocking Heitong’s attack.

”How could I do such a thing?!”

Heitong slashed at Fang Zheng again, shouting at the same time.

”We eliminated so many enemies for the Empire, suffered so many casualties, but my sister utterly disregarded all this, betrayed us, betrayed those companions who sacrificed their lives, and betrayed me! I definitely, definitely won’t forgive her!”

”But everything is over now.”

Yet, facing the furious Heitong, Fang Zheng only added fuel to the fire.

”The Emperor is dead, everything you protected is gone. Let’s see... your comrades... are also mostly dead. So is this why you want to duel Akame?”

”That’s right, only one of us can live on!”

”Haahh......”

Hearing Heitong’s answer, Fang Zheng sighed helplessly.

”You’re just a kid.”

”What did you say!?”

Hearing this, Heitong glared at Fang Zheng, releasing an icy killing intent, but Fang Zheng only spread his hands helplessly.

”When I heard from Akame, I thought it was a big deal... but this is it? Just this? Sigh... as expected... kids need discipline!”

As soon as he finished speaking, Fang Zheng’s Sleeve Sword flashed coldly, stabbing towards Heitong!
