Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

This young Scholar was of course Fang Zheng; his reason for coming here was naturally to give that bunch of Bald Guys a hard time.

However, Fang Zheng had a better method than Daji: mobilize the masses and dive deep into the masses.

No matter how harmless and docile Buddhism pretends to be, it can’t change the fact that it is essentially an anti‑society, anti‑humanity cult. Monks aren’t allowed to touch meat or get married. Can ordinary people tolerate that? Especially in a family like this old lady’s. Fang Zheng had already inquired while drinking tea: the old woman had one son and two daughters, both daughters were married off, and the whole family was counting on this son to marry, have children, continue the family line, and care for them in their old age and after death.

And you want him to become a monk?

Fang Zheng felt that even without him lifting a finger, this old granny would grab a broom and go fight the Tathagata Buddha with her life. She probably wouldn’t stop until she’d beaten the Tathagata Buddha’s head into a swollen mess.

Eh, Chinese People are good this way—simple and traditional. Only Deities that bring real benefits are worth worshipping. How could anyone possibly believe in something that cuts off their descendants, right?

Fang Zheng had long since gained experience roasting Buddhism in the World of the Immortal Sword. He knew these Bald Guys loved to use all kinds of crooked arguments and heretical theories to fool people, but Fang Zheng would just latch onto one point and hammer it hard—the basic doctrines of Buddhism are anti‑humanity, anti‑society, and anti‑morality; they belong to the ”three antis and five poisons,” and their essence is to exterminate humanity and endanger the world.

What’s that? You say Buddhism teaches people to be kind?

Not listening, not listening, a monk chanting scriptures.

You say Buddhism wants all beings to be equal?

Not listening, not listening, a monk chanting scriptures.

You say Buddhism pursues ”great perfection”?

Not listening, not listening, a monk chanting scriptures.

No matter what you say, the essence of your doctrine is anti‑humanity. Dare you say it isn’t?

Based on Fang Zheng’s experience, when arguing with Buddhist doctrine, you must never talk with them about vague terms like Spirit, soul, or mind. We only talk about material wealth, humanity’s right to exist, the right to reproduce, and basic social values. As long as you drag those floating in the clouds down to the concrete social level of firewood, rice, oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar, and tea, they’re just weak scrubs—easy to flatten, and you can casually settle that bunch of silver‑tongued baldie types.

After all, material civilization and spiritual civilization complement each other and are inseparable. Material civilization is the foundation for the formation and development of spiritual civilization, while spiritual civilization provides the motivation and intellectual support for the development of material civilization.

So the key is to promote the coordinated development of material and spiritual civilization.

Buddhism, which grabs only the spiritual and has a weak material foundation, deserves to go extinct sooner or later.

This is why Huaxia’s later civilization and technology stagnated and failed to catch the tide of the Industrial Revolution—because during the Ming and Qing Dynasties Buddhism was excessively promoted, weakening the construction and support of material civilization. That led to sluggish social reform. Otherwise, look at the various developments in material civilization during the Period of Warring States; even before Fang Zheng Time Travel‑ed over, their technological level was hundreds of years ahead of Europe.

Then Buddhism invaded, and it immediately went downhill.

Looking across the whole world, in any country polluted by Buddhism, which one has made any further progress on the tech tree? Aren’t they basically all backward agricultural societies?

So Buddhism bringing ruin to countries and suffering to the people is not without cause.

Catholicism is also no good thing, but at least it’s aggressive: it strengthens itself by plundering others. Don’t worry about whether they killed people in the name of God or Christ; at least they got colonies, made money, set wealth in motion, and thus improved material infrastructure. That’s ”harming others to benefit oneself”—at least it’s a form of egoism.

Buddhism, however, is a classic case of harming others without benefitting oneself. Aside from the individual’s own spiritual satisfaction, everyone else just loses. Material technology doesn’t develop, and there’s no concern for the circulation of wealth. In this respect, Buddhism is not even as good as drugs—at least someone high on drugs might run out and break a world record.

No matter how devoutly you believe in Buddhism, it’s not going to turn you into an Olympic champion, is it?

From this angle, Buddhism is basically a cancer on the world—madly drawing nutrients to fatten itself while weakening the host, eventually dragging the host to die together.

A cult like this is better off dying early and getting reborn early.

After this, the old woman invited Fang Zheng to stay for dinner, and Fang Zheng naturally agreed. At the table, Fang Zheng also saw the so‑called ”Boss Hann” from the rumors. At this moment, he had already shaved his head bald and was wearing plain clothes. He kept his head lowered and remained silent. Even when he saw Fang Zheng, an outsider suddenly appearing in his home, he showed no reaction—neither surprise nor joy, neither anger nor sorrow. He merely pressed his hands together and bowed slightly to Fang Zheng, looking exactly like someone who’d been brainwashed by a pyramid scheme.

What followed was relatively calm. The three of them ate without saying a word, leaving the table atmosphere a bit cold. But in the end, a small problem still cropped up.

Perhaps out of pity for her son, the old woman picked up a piece of meat and put it in Boss Hann’s bowl. However, once he saw the meat, he immediately put down his chopsticks, pressed his hands together, and recited, ”Amitabha.”

”Child, how can you not eat meat?”

Seeing her son like this, the old woman’s face took on a sorrowful expression.

”It’s been so many days. You’ve only been eating rice and vegetables, no meat at all. How will you have any strength like that?”

”.............”

Yet in the face of the old woman’s words, Boss Hann still didn’t speak. He just kept his mouth shut, said nothing, and lowered his head to chant scriptures.

This is also one of those Bald Guys’ usual tricks: once they feel they can’t win the argument, they pretend to be deaf and mute—yeah, in this respect they’re pretty much like the trolls online. When something favors them, they talk nonstop; when it doesn’t, they pretend they can’t see anything.

Classic double standards.

If it were anyone else, trying to persuade him as an outsider wouldn’t have much effect. But Fang Zheng knew exactly how to make this kind of person stop pretending to be deaf and mute.

So he sneered inwardly, then looked toward the old woman and opened his mouth to speak.

”Old lady, just from the look of this big brother here... he’s obviously possessed!”

”Amitabha!”

At this point Boss Hann finally couldn’t hold back anymore. He raised his head and looked at Fang Zheng, his eyes lighting up.

”Benefactor, you mustn’t talk nonsense.”

Heh, figured as much.

Seeing Boss Hann’s reaction, Fang Zheng sneered inwardly. No matter how devout those fanatics are, the most effective way to set them off is to go straight for their faith. As long as you jab right into the heart of it, even a corpse would be pissed enough to jump out of its coffin.

So Fang Zheng didn’t look at Boss Hann at all now, but turned to the old woman and kept talking.

”Granny, did your son run into some kind of aberrant creature? My master once told me, some monsters deliberately confuse mortals and make their temperaments change completely...”

”Oh, young man, are you serious?”

Hearing that, the old woman immediately tensed up.

”It’s true, this child was never like this before. But just over ten days ago, after he came down from the mountain, he was like a different person. Not only did he throw away the Hunting Bow his father left him, the one he used to treat like a treasure, he also stopped eating meat, only having plain rice, greens, and water every day. He stopped going up the mountain to hunt, and just stayed in his room all day—heaven knows what he’s doing in there...”

”That’s absolutely being possessed. Granny, I suggest you invite a Taoist to perform a ritual and drive the evil out...”

Fang Zheng was secretly amused now, watching Boss Hann squirm, while also stoking the old woman’s anxiety.

”Yes, yes, why didn’t I think of that? I’ll go as soon as the rain stops...”

”Mom! I’m not possessed!!”

Seeing his mother really about to invite someone to perform a ritual, Boss Hann finally couldn’t hold back. And when she heard her son finally talking like a normal person, the old woman got excited too.

”Then tell me, if you’re not possessed, what are you? Ever since you came home you’ve been like a different person. No matter what your mother—this old woman—said, it was no use, and I had no one to discuss it with...”

”Hey, it’s really not like that! Mom...”

Speaking up to this point, Boss Hann hesitated for a moment, then finally opened his mouth.

”I’ll just tell you straight... Here’s what happened...”

What Boss Hann described at the start was basically the same as what those farmers had said, but the latter half was completely different. He didn’t get scared and run down the mountain; instead, he spoke with that deer. The deer told him that his killing karma was too heavy, deathly energy clung to him, and only by doing good deeds could he lighten his sins. If he wanted to cure his mother’s illness, he had to become a monk, reciting scriptures every day. No eating meat or fish, three sessions of chanting every morning, noon, and night... In short, if he did all that, his mother would fully recover. Otherwise, the sins he had committed would drag his mother down again.

”There’s something like that?”

After listening to her son’s account, the old woman was dumbfounded. But right then, Fang Zheng cut in.

”Granny, there’s definitely something fishy here!”

”Why does this young sir say that?”

At this point, the old woman trusted Fang Zheng more and more; even the way she addressed him had changed. Fang Zheng gave a slight smile, then turned to look at Boss Hann.

”First of all, hearing Brother Hann say all this, I already feel something’s off. Brother Hann, you’re the most famous hunter around here, but within a radius of ten or twenty li, there must be more hunters with your level of Skill, not just you, right? Have any of the other hunters run into something like this?”

”This...”

Faced with Fang Zheng’s question, Boss Hann was indeed stunned. It’s true, he’s a very skilled hunter, but it’s not like he’s invincible. Boss Hann certainly knew there were other hunters nearby about as good as he was. They’d often compete over who caught more game or whose prey was more valuable.

Yet all of this seemed to have happened only to him. The others seemed fine! Boss Hann still remembered that one of his companions had just had a child a few days ago, and the three of them were happily living their lives.

Hmm?

Thinking about it like this... why is it only him who’s so miserable?

”Also, what Brother Hann said is really strange. Why was your leg incurable before, no matter what you did, yet the moment he went to worship this so-called Buddha, it suddenly got better? Don’t you find that aberrant? It’s practically like it was just waiting for Brother Hann to have a complete change of heart!”

”This...”

Hearing this, Boss Hann and his mother looked at each other in dismay. They might be simple folk from a Farmstead with little worldly experience, but they weren’t stupid. Listening to Fang Zheng analyze point by point, they also began to feel something was wrong here.

”So, brother, what are you getting at...?”

”I’ll repeat what I said.”

Facing Boss Hann’s question, Fang Zheng chuckled.

”I think, Brother Hann, you’re definitely possessed.”
