Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Inside the arena, the crowd was roaring.

The building, resembling the Roman Colosseum, was filled with people, while in the center of the arena, several figures were bound to crosses, motionless.

”Ugh......”

Hearing the surrounding sounds, Main clenched her teeth. Last night’s ambush by the Hunters was very successful, and although Night Raid managed to eliminate many of the Hunters’ members during the resistance, in the end, they were still captured.

Now, only Main, Hill, and Akame were still alive, with Akame’s whereabouts unknown, and Main and Hill were the only two captured members.

Everyone else died in the battle against the Hunters, although the situation for the Hunters wasn’t good either. The Three Beast Warriors were all killed, with only Meili, Heitong, and a mysterious girl surviving. But speaking of which......

”Akame’s swordsmanship was truly incredible......”

Recalling last night’s battle, Main couldn’t help but smile. It was the first time she saw Akame unleash the full power of the Thirteen Fatal Swords, and especially the Fifteenth Sword, which directly slaughtered the eight mannequins controlled by Kurotou, almost pushing her sister to the limit. If that man named Will hadn’t stepped forward to save her, then this might have been the decisive end to the blood battle between the sisters.

Main could have escaped as well, but to cover Akame’s escape, she chose to sacrifice herself and was ultimately captured.

I wonder how Akame is doing, if she’ll find that pervert to rescue us......

Glancing at Hill beside her, who also had her eyes closed in silence, Main suddenly had this thought deep in her heart. But soon, she let out a bitter laugh.

How could they come? It was evident that they were using them as bait to lure that pervert, which is why they captured them alive; otherwise, Main didn’t believe that cold-blooded Hunters would have preserved her life like this.

But this is the end of it......

Just as this thought crossed Main’s mind, suddenly, the noisy arena gradually quieted down. Subsequently, a boy of about ten years old appeared in the public eye, walking to the platform. He raised his hand, signaling everyone to be quiet. Soon, there was no more sound in the arena.

At the same time, the young Emperor began to speak.

”Citizens of the Empire, there have been baseless rumors circulating recently that the Empire is going to collapse, which has troubled Us. However, my citizens, do not believe these groundless words. Today, I will execute the rebels who disturb the Empire’s order here! The rumored members of Night Raid!”

As he spoke, the Emperor extended his hand, pointing forward.

”They oppress the good people, wielding the blade for their own selfish desires, an evil assassination group. Our Empire, this prosperous Imperial City, will not allow anyone to violate it! The Empire, the Imperial City, is everlasting!”

Saying this, the Emperor raised his scepter, and with his action, the cheers became louder and louder. Yet, at that moment......

”No, kingship is not eternal, Your Majesty.”

A cold, gloomy voice suddenly emerged, overshadowing all the cheers. The young Emperor quickly turned his head to look, only to find that on the high wall behind him in the arena, a figure in a white robe stood there.

”Rebel! Catch him quickly!”

Seeing this suddenly appearing figure, the Emperor was also startled, hurriedly giving orders. Yet before anyone could act, the robed man suddenly raised his hands, like a conductor, gesturing downwards. The next moment, with the sudden eruption of rumbling and explosion, thick smoke rolled up around the entire arena!

”Your Majesty!”

At this moment, Grand General Budd quickly rushed to the Emperor’s side, shielding him behind, staring intently at the figure. But the figure just stood there, silent.

”It’s unnecessary.”

”What do you mean?”

”What I mean is......”

Facing Grand General Budd’s inquiry, Fang Zheng sneered.

”You no longer need to protect that Emperor.”

”Your Majesty!!!”

Budd hadn’t yet reacted to Fang Zheng’s words when he heard Minister Ernest’s scream coming from behind him. Turning around, he was surprised to find that at that moment, the young Emperor was staring wide-eyed, his hands tightly clutching his throat, a knife embedded in his neck.

A throwing knife!

A knife that never misses its mark!

A knife to the throat, always fatal!

”Bu...d......”

The young Emperor helplessly extended his hand towards the man in front, trying to grasp something, but the next moment, his whole body collapsed softly to the ground, lifeless.

The Emperor is dead!

He killed the Emperor!

At this moment, the entire arena seemed to have frozen, whether it was the terrified and uneasy citizens, Main and Hill bound on the crosses, or those Hunter members who had failed to protect the Emperor, all staring dumbfounded at the Emperor’s corpse on the platform and the figure standing on the high wall.

”......You scoundrel!!!”

Watching the Emperor die, Grand General Budd could no longer hold back. He roared, and thunder exploded from his body, shooting straight into the sky. But at the same time, Fang Zheng also glared at Grand General Budd with a shout.

”Shut up! You traitor!”

”What......”

At this moment, Fang Zheng was staring at Grand General Budd, jumping off the city wall, and walking towards him step by step.

”It is known that Ernest has kidnapped the Emperor, and cruelty reigns. In the temple, rotten wood serves as officials. Between the palace steps, beasts feast upon riches. Therefore, those with hearts of wolves and lungs of dogs are rampant, while fawning officials whisper at the court, turning the country into rubble, forcing the people to endure bitter hardship! During this national crisis, as the Grand General, what have you accomplished?!”

”You......”

Faced with Fang Zheng’s rebuke, Grand General Budd’s complexion changed from white to blue. He extended his finger towards Fang Zheng in a rage.

”You...... dare......!”

”Silence, shameless scoundrel!”

However, Fang Zheng abruptly waved his hand, interrupting Grand General Budd.

”Don’t you know, everyone under heaven wishes to devour your flesh alive, how dare you babble here! Being a sycophant, you can only hide and shrink, miserably scheming for food and clothing. You stubborn fool, traitor, soon you will descend to the netherworld, what face will you have to meet your ancestors, past Emperors?!”

At this moment, the entire Colosseum was dead silent, everyone was wide-eyed and open-mouthed witnessing this scene. Under their gaze, Grand General Budd’s face turned crimson, his body trembling.

”I...... I......”

”Traitor, bearing the responsibility of protecting the nation, you let the wicked lead and remained indifferent. You’ve lived forty-six years without accomplishing an inch, only moving lips and teeth, siding with evil! A broken-spined dog, you dare bark wildly in front of me......”

At this point, Fang Zheng extended his hand, pointing at Grand General Budd.

”I’ve never seen someone so shameless!”

”Shut up!”

Accompanied by an angry roar, Grand General Budd erupted with electric currents covering the entire Colosseum. He then roared and charged directly at Fang Zheng. Fang Zheng merely glared coldly at him, and as Grand General Budd charged forward, Fang Zheng rolled forward, sliding through the electric gaps, arriving in front of Grand General Budd. Then, Fang Zheng stretched his hands forward, two sleeve swords suddenly popped out, piercing directly through Grand General Budd’s knees!

”Ugh...!!”

Grand General Budd groaned, his massive body immediately dropped to the ground. Even so, he didn’t give up, instead continuing to raise his hands to grab Fang Zheng. But Fang Zheng raised himself up, the sleeve sword in his hand shot out once more, stabbing into Grand General Budd’s shoulders, and the hands reaching for Fang Zheng limply fell down.

”You......!”

At this moment, powerless in both hands and feet, Grand General Budd furiously raised his head, looking at Fang Zheng, wanting to say something. Meanwhile, two cold sleeve swords had already criss-crossed into his neck.

”......”

Grand General Budd’s body shook slightly, his eyes widened, glaring dead-set at Fang Zheng. The next moment, he retained this fuming expression and collapsed to the ground.

But Fang Zheng was no longer there.

Having extracted the sleeve swords from Grand General Budd’s neck, Fang Zheng leapt forward, stepping on the nearby steps, soaring high like an eagle unfurling its wings from the sky, baring its fangs at its prey.

”Don’t come near us!!”

Seeing Fang Zheng flying down, Minister Ernest shrieked, hurriedly stretched his hand towards Fang Zheng. Quickly, a ring on Minister Ernest’s right hand abruptly transformed, then shattered.

This was Minister Ernest’s ace, the hidden power he concealed, a teigu that could nullify all teigus. For Minister Ernest, it was a perfect talisman, yet......

”Sching!”

The descending sleeve sword pierced into Minister Ernest’s neck, nailing him tightly to the ground.

”Why......”

Eyes wide, gazing at the white-robed man before him, Minister Ernest couldn’t believe his eyes. Why...... didn’t this power affect him?

If Fang Zheng knew Minister Ernest’s inner thoughts at this moment, he would definitely tell him——— I never use teigu......

But unfortunately, Minister Ernest could no longer know the answer.

Looking at Minister Ernest’s wide-open eyes, Fang Zheng stretched out his hand, closed his eyes, then stood up and gazed at the Colosseum before him. At this time, the people in the Colosseum were completely silent, huddled together trembling, watching the figure standing on the high platform. Many could hardly believe their eyes.

Grand General Budd, whose name shook the Imperial City, was dead.

Minister Ernest also was dead.

Even the Emperor was dead.

What would happen next?

None knew.
