Chapter 1393: Chapter 1392: This Must Also Be the World’s Fault

”I mean...”

Fang Zheng put down what he was doing and looked at the girls squeezing into the kitchen one by one.

”What are you all doing here? This kitchen is only so big, if you squeeze in any more, there won’t even be room to turn around.”

Though the place Fang Zheng and Sora lived in used to be a clinic, it wasn’t a hospital, so naturally there wasn’t a dining hall, just their own kitchen, and it wasn’t particularly big. While two or three people might barely fit, with everyone squeezing in now, forget about cooking, you can hardly move.

”Ahahaha...”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Hibiki awkwardly laughed.

”Well... we just wanted to help... Haruno, is there anything we can do?”

”That works too... who can cook?”

As soon as Fang Zheng spoke, Kiyora Setsuna was the first to raise her hand, followed quickly by Yukina and Hibiki. Gui Kotonoha looked like she wanted to raise hers but didn’t dare, while Sora arrogantly raised hers high, leaving Kazusa Touma stunned, unsure what to do.

”Then Kiyora and Komizo can stay.”

Fang Zheng casually gave directions.

”The rest of you can go out, Sora... you too, go entertain the guests, just the three of us is enough here.”

Saying this, Fang Zheng glanced at Sora, who pouted unhappily and then pulled Gui Kotonoha to leave the kitchen—kidding, she’s his sister, Fang Zheng knows how capable she is. Heating food in a microwave is Sora’s best skill, expecting her to cook is less realistic than ordering takeaway.

”Then we’ll wait to eat...”

Hibiki didn’t seem to mind and even patted Yukina’s shoulder before going out.

”Good luck.”

”Ah... okay.”

Yukina blushed slightly at Hibiki’s words, ready to say something, but Hibiki just giggled, waved, and left. Then Kazusa Touma glanced at them meaningfully before leaving too, leaving just the three in the once noisy kitchen.

However, just as Yukina awkwardly turned her head, considering what to say to Fang Zheng, she saw Setsuna already putting on an apron and starting to wash the ingredients.

Seeing this, Yukina was surprised, her thoughts drifting away.

”Haruno, what should I do?”

”Hmm? Peel the potatoes over there.”

”Okay!”

The three of them began to work on dinner, while in the living room, the atmosphere was a bit awkward. Sora ignored Fang Zheng’s request to entertain guests, burying herself in games on the sofa. Hibiki looked around before cheerfully going to chat with Gui Kotonoha.

Gui Kotonoha was initially a bit reserved with Hibiki, but it didn’t take long for her to start laughing and talking too. Kazusa Touma seemed lonely, but obediently sat on the sofa for a while, before sneaking a glance at Hibiki and Gui Kotonoha chatting and decided to head over to Sora.

Noticing someone approaching, Sora frowned slightly but said nothing. Kazusa Touma hesitated for a moment before speaking.

”Hey...”

Hearing Kazusa’s voice, Sora looked up at her.

”Hmm?”

”I have something I want to ask you.”

”What is it?”

Sora showed little interest in Kazusa’s attempt to chat, casually replying and continuing her game. Unbothered, Kazusa directly asked.

”I want to know... has Haruno ever participated in any music competitions?”

”Competitions?”

Hearing this, Sora finally paused her game and looked at Kazusa puzzled.

”What kind of competition?”

”Like piano competitions or concerts...”

At this point, Kazusa got excited.

”His piano skills aren’t something learned at home casually, but I couldn’t find any records of Haruno participating in competitions, you’re his sister, you should...”

”He hasn’t.”

Cutting Kazusa off, Sora lowered her gaze back to her game.

”My brother hasn’t participated in any competition.”

”How can that be...”

Kazusa obviously didn’t believe Sora’s answer, but Sora didn’t bother saying more, leaving the two in silence.

Fortunately, not long after, Yukina cheerfully brought dishes out of the kitchen.

”Dinner’s ready...!”

Though dinner wasn’t particularly extravagant, Fang Zheng just made four dishes and a soup, the usual Chinese cuisine. Fang Zheng only knew how to cook Chinese dishes, and he hadn’t traveled to some cooking-illuminating world to learn new recipes. He wasn’t interested in expanding his culinary skills, so what he knew now was the same as before his rebirth.

So the final result was braised pork with sweet and sour pork, and mapo tofu with stir-fried shredded potatoes, along with winter melon meatball soup, two meat, and two vegetable dishes with soup.

As for the taste... it’s certainly not going to make anyone strip off after one bite, but even so, it received unanimous praise from everyone.

”So delicious!”

Taking a satisfied bite of sweet and sour pork, the world cheerfully gave Fang Zheng a thumbs-up.

”Haruno’s cooking is amazing, even better than the head chef at a Chinese restaurant!”

”Ah... I was planning to diet...”

Gui Kotonoha hesitated as she stared at the braised pork in front of her, torn between dieting and the allure of gourmet food. After hesitating for a moment, she ultimately gave up resisting, carefully picked up a piece of braised pork with her chopsticks, and placed it in her mouth, revealing a blissful expression.

”So delicious...”

With delicious food on the table, everyone was eating and drinking, playing and enjoying themselves quite freely. However, at this moment, a news report suddenly came from the television.

”According to the meteorological bureau, Typhoon Shirayuki, which has just formed, is about to make landfall in the central region of our country. This typhoon has suddenly appeared without any warning signs. Authorities urge citizens to stay at home, close all windows and doors, and take precautions against the typhoon’s impact...”

”Eh?”

Hearing this, the girls who had just finished their meal and were resting were startled, then quickly jumped up.

”Oh no!”

”This is bad!”

”What should we do now?”

At this point, everyone looked out the window, only to notice that the once clear sky had turned dark, with thick clouds looming overhead. The typhoon’s roar was bending the trees outside... in this situation, forget going home; they might not even be able to get outside!

”The trains have stopped operating.”

Setsuna silently took out her phone, gave it a little shake in front of everyone, leaving the girls dumbfounded—after all, the weather forecast when they went out today had said it would be sunny all day, and now a typhoon appeared suddenly by evening? What’s going on?

”Whoosh... whoosh...!!”

The gusts of wind were becoming increasingly fierce, almost making the cars parked on the roadside look as if they might flip over.

”No way, my family said they can’t send a car now...”

Gui Kotonoha also put down her phone and shook her head helplessly. Originally, she could have used her family’s car to drive others home, but with the current strength of the typhoon, going out would be sheer madness.

”There’s no other choice.”

Looking at the weather forecast on the television, Fang Zheng sighed helplessly.

”You all should stay here today.”

”Huh...!?”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s words, the girls immediately shrieked, while Fang Zheng rolled his eyes helplessly.

”What else can you do, with this weather? Are you all thinking of going home? As it happens, there are a few beds in the clinic, we can put them together and squeeze in for the night, it should be fine.”

”Ah, well... you’re right...”

World blushed and nodded.

”Well, I’ll let my family know.”

”Me too...”

As they spoke, World and Yukina hurriedly dialed their home numbers, while Touma remained unfazed.

”It’s fine, I can stay.”

Since she’s living alone in Japan, she doesn’t need to notify anyone.

”What about Kiyora?”

In response to Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Setsuna silently gestured a V at him.

”I already sent my family a text message earlier.”

”Alright then...”

Hearing Setsuna’s reply, Fang Zheng shrugged his shoulders. He hadn’t anticipated Setsuna’s quick action; without saying a word, she already took care of it?

”Me too... excuse the trouble.”

Gui Kotonoha also lowered her voice with a blush. She had already notified her family earlier, so she naturally had to stay the night.

”My mom agreed too.”

”Me too...”

World and Yukina had finished their phone calls, although their expressions were somewhat subtle, appearing a bit shy and somewhat anxious.

”Ahh...”

Seeing this scene in front of him, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but sigh.

He had a feeling that this sudden typhoon—might also be the world’s malice!
