Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1384: Chapter 1383: Another Troublemaker Added

For Fang Zheng, this was just an ordinary day, aside from the slight trouble of refusing Saiin-ji Sekai’s invitation to be their keyboardist. Fang Zheng didn’t give it much thought.

Until a week later, an unexpected person appeared before him.

”I’m Kazusa Touma.”

The black-haired girl standing on the podium still had that cold expression, as if everyone owed her money. Fang Zheng’s classmates couldn’t hide their surprise at her appearance.

”Isn’t she from Class H...”

”Why is she here?”

No wonder everyone was surprised; it’s well-known that Class H specializes in music, with top-notch resources. Kazusa Touma was a famous figure there, beautiful and eye-catching. If not for her aloof demeanor, she might have been a school idol.

But she actually transferred to the regular class?

It’s as shocking as a gifted student from a special class transferring to a regular school.

”Due to certain reasons, Kazusa Touma is now joining our Class E. Everyone should get along well. Touma, please sit over there.”

The teacher seemed eager to avoid trouble with this problematic student, quickly finishing the introduction and placing Kazusa Touma next to Fang Zheng. Touma gave Fang Zheng a glance, then went straight to her desk and... fell asleep.

Fang Zheng didn’t mind. He glanced at Touma and then resumed what he was doing, not bothering with her.

Kiyora Setsuna, however, seemed concerned. After class, she approached Fang Zheng to inquire.

”Why did Touma transfer to our class?”

”How should I know.”

Fang Zheng shrugged in response to Kiyora Setsuna’s question. He wasn’t interested in caring and was too lazy to.

”Maybe she found the music specialty boring and wanted a normal life?”

”Really... I feel like she came for you.”

Although Kiyora Setsuna didn’t understand piano, she had observed Kazusa Touma’s performance.

”Hope not...”

What else could Fang Zheng say? He could only hope Setsuna’s guess was wrong.

But as it turned out, girls’ intuition is often accurate.

Shortly after school, Kazusa Touma returned to the second music room.

”I want to join the Light Music Club.”

Though she spoke to Saiin-ji Sekai, her gaze was fixed on Fang Zheng.

”Aren’t you missing a keyboardist?”

”Well...”

Faced with the uninvited Kazusa Touma, Saiin-ji Sekai was visibly flustered. Logically, she’d welcome a formally trained keyboardist, but given the tension between Touma and Fang Zheng... she was unsure.

Fang Zheng, however, didn’t care.

”Let her join. We’re missing a keyboardist anyway, no point in wasting the opportunity.”

Thus, with a keyboardist volunteering, the band finally formed.

But only then did they realize a significant problem.

That is...

”What’s the band called?”

When Kazusa Touma brought it up, everyone realized—they hadn’t named the band!

”Well...”

The world showed a faint smile, looking at Fang Zheng, who waved her off.

”Why look at me? You’re the president.”

”How about you name it, Classmate Haruno.”

Though Saiin-ji Sekai was the official president, Fang Zheng had a commanding presence in the club after recent practices and sessions. This made sense; apart from Fang Zheng, everyone was amateurish. Fang Zheng guided Sekai and Setsuna, trained Komizo Yukina to sing, and cared for his sister... well, the last one didn’t count.

Anyway, Fang Zheng had become the core of the Light Music Club, even Sekai and Setsuna saw no issue with him naming the band.

”Then let’s call it Rotten Xiuxiu.”

Fang Zheng thoughtlessly used the name of the zombie group from Heavenly Dao Palace, but this time faced unanimous opposition.

”It’s too awful...”

”Awful.”

”I think so too... anything better...”

Even Komizo Yukina, who normally seemed scared of Fang Zheng, opposed it, clearly rejecting this band name.

”...Then Backstreet Boys?”

”We’re all girls!”

”Then Backstreet Girls.”

”But, bro, you’re a guy.”

This time, without waiting for anyone else to speak, Sora, who was watching the fun, cut straight to the point.

”Well...”

Seeing his proposed names continually rejected, Fang Zheng had a sudden flash of inspiration.

”How about we just call it SchoolDays? What do you think? No objections now, right?”

”School...”

”...Days?”

”That’s right, to commemorate every day of our school life. Isn’t that a great name?”

”Hmm...”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s explanation, the girls thought for a moment, then Saiin-ji Sekai nodded.

”Sounds pretty good, let’s go with SchoolDays then!”

”Yeah, it’s alright.”

”So, from today onwards, we’re SchoolDays!”

Whew...

Watching the girls cheerfully, Fang Zheng quietly wiped his sweat.

If this still didn’t work, then he’d have to go for ”Niceboat.”

But it looks like they’ve managed to sneak it by this time!

Thus, the band name was decided, and everyone continued their practice as usual. It’s undeniable, Kazusa Touma’s addition indeed improved everyone’s skills. As a return, Fang Zheng occasionally pointed out things to Touma. Of course, he wouldn’t act like a teacher and point fingers at Touma, at most, he’d play the tune again after Touma finished it, so that Touma could feel the difference between the two. After all, music is something that’s interpreted personally, how much one can understand depends on Touma’s own talent.

For Fang Zheng, the coming days remained very peaceful, going out at noon for lunch with Sora and Gui Kotonoha, then after school, taking Sora to the second music room for cultural festival practice performances. It genuinely gave Fang Zheng a taste of youthful school life.

However, just as Fang Zheng relaxed and began to enjoy, the nature of this world reminded him once again... there’s no such thing as a good thing!

Everything began half a month before the cultural festival during a club practice.

”Okay, let’s stop here for now, take a fifteen-minute break.”

Under Fang Zheng’s command, the girls heaved a sigh of relief, sat on the chairs beside them, and started resting and drinking water. At this moment, Saiin-ji Sekai suddenly brought up a topic.

”By the way... have you heard about the Spell Text?”

”Spell Text?”

Komizo Yukina put down her bottle of mineral water and looked at Saiin-ji Sekai curiously, who nodded.

”Yes, I heard that if you set your crush’s photo as your phone wallpaper, and keep it a secret for three weeks without anyone finding out, your romance with that person will succeed.”

”Ah, I’ve heard of it.”

Upon hearing this, Komizo Yukina nodded as well, while Fang Zheng shrugged.

”It’s just superstition, right? Think about it, it’s basically impossible.”

”Classmate Haruno, you’re too rigid. Don’t you think it’s romantic?”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s retort, Saiin-ji Sekai pouted unhappily, but Fang Zheng clearly wouldn’t follow her lead.

”Of course not. If I like a girl and set her photo as my phone wallpaper for three weeks, then what? Will she confess to me? Or should I just wait three weeks and confess to her, and it will be successful? When we haven’t had any connection or seen each other before, just like that together? Don’t you think it’s too hasty?”

”Classmate Haruno, you’re quite a buzzkill....”

This time, Komizo Yukina showed a wry smile, and Saiin-ji Sekai was even more unwilling to concede, as she rolled her eyes and smiled.

”So, Classmate Haruno, do you have someone you like? Whose photo is on your phone screen?”

”Eh?”

Hearing this question, Fang Zheng was stunned for a moment, and sitting not far away, Sora frowned while looking up at Fang Zheng. Even Kiyora Setsuna curiously turned her gaze toward Fang Zheng, with Touma seemingly not caring at all, still focused on the sheet music in front of her.

”Of course I do. Want to see? Just a heads up, this picture has been there for more than three weeks, but she won’t be confessing to me.”

”Eh? Really, let me see, let me see!”

Seeing Fang Zheng take out his phone, Saiin-ji Sekai quickly snatched it and opened it without hesitation......

Her expression suddenly became complex.

”This is......”

On Fang Zheng’s phone screen wasn’t anyone else - it was a photo of Sora wearing a white long dress and a straw hat.

”That’s why I said, it’s just superstition.”

Fang Zheng took back the phone freely and put it away.

”Ha... Classmate Haruno, you’re quite the sister complex.”

”Because little sisters are cute, what’s wrong with being a sister complex?”

Looking at Saiin-ji Sekai’s frustrated complaints, Fang Zheng replied with a smile.

Nevertheless, at this moment, Kiyora Setsuna noticed that sitting not far beside Fang Zheng, Sora’s gaze toward Fang Zheng had become somewhat strange......
