Chapter 1357: Chapter 1356: On the Importance of BGM

The fact is, in any war, the importance of BGM is obvious.

If it’s a war of rebellion against invasion, the BGM should be vibrant. If it’s the final battle against a dark boss, the entire BGM style should be full of gravity. If a grand interstellar war is needed, then the whole BGM should also be grand.

In fact, the Buddhists and Daoist immortals on the other side feel the same way; they hold musical instruments, and the celestial music they play is full of surging, intense passion.

In tune with this style, the battle between the two sides should be like a needle against wheat.

However......

”Immortal Master Fang Zheng!”

Virupaksha glared, holding a red chain, his eyes wide.

”You colluded with demons, murdered the Buddhist envoy, disrupted the human world, do you know your sin!!”

(The vast horizon is my love, the flowers blooming at the foot of the continuous green mountains...)

”Enough with the nonsense.”

Fang Zheng hummed a tune while coldly looking at the immortals in front of him.

”The rules of the Heavenly Dao aren’t set by you. All things have spirituality, yet you consider yourself as the righteous path, maliciously oppressing the mortal realm’s demon spirits, and ignoring the people’s suffering. How dare you call yourselves compassionate? The Jin Dynasty killed so many Song Dynasty people, and today you actually act as accomplices, daring to help the Jin Dynasty. It inherently shows the evil and decaying nature of your feudal ruling class!”

”What nonsense!!”

At this, Nezha jumped out, stepping on the Windfire Wheel, shaking the Red Tassel Spear, pointing at Fang Zheng.

”Heaven has heavenly rules, humans have human laws, how could a demon like you change them?”

(The fiery songs are our expectations, walking and singing along the way is the freest)

”I’m not interested in arguing with a forgetful brat like you.”

Fang Zheng glanced at Nezha disdainfully.

”You and Li Jing fought, and Nuwa intervened to mediate. Yet, Chan Sect conspired with the Western Paradise’s demon Buddha to harm Nuwa’s lineage, and you pretended to be blind. Nuwa shouldn’t have bothered with you and Li Jing, those two fools...!”

”You...”

Hearing this, Nezha’s face flushed, anger prompting him to step on the Windfire Wheel, ready to rush up and fight Fang Zheng to the death. But soon, another person stepped in to stop Nezha.

”Supreme Being, Immortal Master this is different... the Chan Sect and Jiejiao conflict is long past, why must you fight all the heavens over this? Carelessness could cause rivers of blood and disasters in the human world, which is a sin...”

”Taiyi Zhenren...”

Looking at the white-robed elder in the distance, Fang Zheng sneered.

”Seems like the Twelve Immortals of Kunlun are all here. Perfect, I’ll chop off your heads first, then go find Yuanshi Tianzun! If I don’t annihilate your Chan Sect entirely today, I’ll write my name backwards!”

”Ignorant youth, daring and reckless! I want to see how you dare to be arrogant in front of the gods of my celestial realm!”

Hearing here, Dhṛtarāṣṭra finally couldn’t help but speak.

”You are just a demon beast, where does this confidence come from to dare to contend with the heavens? Today, here, we shall capture the demon and slay the monster...!”

(You are the most beautiful cloud in my heart, let me keep you with all my heart...)

”Capture the demon and... keep... No, that’s wrong!”

As he said this, Dhṛtarāṣṭra was shocked, immediately gathering his thoughts. The strange song played by the other side was indeed peculiar, but filled with a hypnotic magic that stubbornly stuck in his mind. Just by listening once, it almost slipped his tongue to sing along.

Thinking of this, Dhṛtarāṣṭra immediately collected himself, then bowed.

”Fellow Taoists, do not engage in a war of words with this demon immortal. Let us join forces to subdue the demon and enforce the law!”

”Heavenly King Dhṛtarāṣṭra, don’t underestimate the enemy.”

At this moment, Guangchengzi also appeared solem, though he shook his head.

”This demon immortal is highly skilled, but his demon beasts number only in the thousands. How could he have the confidence to challenge us? Even with the Investiture of the Gods and Immortal Slayer Gourd, it wouldn’t be possible.”

Indeed, the Immortal Slayer Gourd is powerful, but the problem is, it’s an anti-person Noble Phantasm, and a single-person phantasm. If Fang Zheng were to confront a deity one-on-one, with the Immortal Slayer Gourd, there would be no doubt the opponent would be dead. However, there are hundreds of Da Luo Golden Immortals here, even if sacrificing his life, Fang Zheng would at most kill two or three people with the Immortal Slayer Gourd.

”Heh...”

Hearing Guangchengzi’s words, Fang Zheng sneered.

”Yuanshi Tianzun’s disciples have a few smart ones, but unfortunately, it’s too late...”

”Too late?”

Hearing this, the immortals were momentarily stunned, and instantaneously a sense of ominous premonition rose within. Meanwhile, Fang Zheng floated in the air, then coldly looked at them.

”In my eyes, all of you are already dead...”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng raised his right hand, revealing an ancient, unadorned sword silently emerging from his hand, hanging upside down in the air.

Seeing this plain sword, the immortals were initially stunned, then suddenly alarmed!

”Extermination Sword!”

”Not good! Stop him!!”

At this moment, whether it be the Twelve Golden Immortals, the Four Heavenly Kings, or even the subduing arhat and celestial generals, it was as though they were chased by ghosts as they frantically rushed towards Fang Zheng.

However, just as Fang Zheng stated, it was too late!

”Sword Array, rise!!”

Accompanied by Fang Zheng’s angry shout, the next moment, the Extermination Sword before him suddenly flashed with lightning, abruptly striking at the millions of immortals in front, and then the lightning instantly split into two, then into four, striking at the cardinal points of south, east, and north. Simultaneously, three more swords appeared in the air, the other three of the Four Extermination Swords!

Indeed, this is what Fang Zheng received after accepting the mysterious voice’s request, a Fantasy-grade artifact—Extermination Sword Formation!

The next moment, a massive labyrinth appeared out of nowhere, completely enveloping the million immortals along with Shangjing City!

”No, how could this be?!”

Looking at the Extermination Sword Formation, Guangchengzi was dumbfounded. The present immortals were largely adept at calculations, knowing past and future, not to mention that such a thing as the Extermination Formation defies heavenly harmony, and is a killer weapon for immortals. If Fang Zheng had really set up the Extermination Formation around them early, then no way would not a single immortal official have detected anything wrong!

How did he achieve this?!

Indeed, what Guangchengzi thought was correct. Fang Zheng, familiar with various Journey to the West, Investiture of the Gods, and Shushan Legend, naturally understood that the immortals in this world were top-notch at calculations. If he had set up the Extermination Formation early, they would absolutely not have fallen for it.

But... the celestial immortals can calculate everyone else, but they cannot calculate Fang Zheng.

Firstly, he is not one of this world, secondly, Fang Zheng is the Time Dragon! He exists outside of time!

In fact, Fang Zheng set up the Extermination Formation while the two sides were dancing square dances. Since Fang Zheng operates outside the time axis, the immortals could not detect any anomalies before the formation of the time axis. By the instant the time axis formed, however sensitive their senses, it was too late!

The Extermination Formation in The Investiture of the Gods didn’t serve its purpose because Supreme Master intended to use it merely to deter the Chan Sect immortals, not genuinely planning to kill them all. But Fang Zheng was different; his goal was to burn the entire Chan Sect along with the Celestial Court and Western Paradise to the ground, so he showed no mercy to these immortal buddhas.

Therefore, while the immortal buddhas were being brainwashed by the square dance, he quietly placed the Four Extermination Swords in the east, south, west, and north. Then immediately reentered the time axis to activate. Such a transcendental time attack, even the Twelve Golden Immortals and Four Heavenly Kings, could only helplessly submit!

Next was...

”Investiture of the Gods!”

Fang Zheng suddenly waved his hand, the Investiture of the Gods covering the Extermination Sword Formation, then he returned to the zeppelin, looking at the others.

”You guard this formation, leave the next steps to me, just ensure your safety. Remember, don’t act rashly or independently.”

”Celestial Immortal, what are you going to do?”

”The protective old fool is coming.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng tightened his grip on the Black and White Twin Swords.

”Next, it’s my stage!”
