Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1380: Chapter 1379: Even Cheating Doesn’t Work?

To be honest, Fang Zheng was very surprised by this.

He had played some games, but in those games, even if the protagonist had a younger sister, they were basically adopted or cousins. Even if they seemed like real siblings on the surface, it would eventually turn out that one of them was adopted.

But Sora was different. Through ”background review,” Fang Zheng could confirm that she was indeed his twin sister in this world; at least in this world, they really had a blood relationship.

Damn, what kind of game is this? You can even pursue your real sister, this is wild!

Thinking of this, a thought suddenly popped into Fang Zheng’s mind.

If I lower Sora’s affection level to below eighty, what would happen?

With this thought, Fang Zheng squinted his eyes, and then a golden radiance appeared in his right eye.

That’s right, Fang Zheng was going to cheat using the Future Sight ability of the Time Dragon!

The saying goes, if you’re unkind, don’t blame me for being unjust. Since you two teamed up to deceive your dear dad, then don’t blame me for checking the strategy!

Right now, Fang Zheng was going to use the power of Future Sight to see the results of his choices!

Soon, everything rapidly unfolded before him.

Gradually, Fang Zheng became indifferent to Sora, and Sora didn’t know what she did wrong. She started a cold war with Fang Zheng, sulking, but Fang Zheng ignored her. Meanwhile, Sora’s affection level towards Fang Zheng began to drop, all the way from 98 to 85, and then......

Brother doesn’t want me anymore.

Sora received the answer.

He didn’t want to be with her anymore; she...... no longer had any relatives to rely on.

Then it’s meaningless for her to be alive in this world.

So, Sora left this home, left this place, came to the lakeside of the back mountain, and then, she just slowly sank into the lake, closed her eyes.........

Oh my god!

Seeing this, Fang Zheng trembled all over and hurriedly withdrew from Future Sight.

Is it this deadly?

Although he knew Sora’s thoughts were delicate and sensitive, he just slightly neglected her to lower affection levels—it shouldn’t be this exaggerated.........

”Brother?”

Seeing Fang Zheng’s odd expression, Sora turned her head, staring at him curiously, while Fang Zheng shook his head.

”Nothing, nothing, I just suddenly thought of some other things.”

”Is that so......”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s answer, Sora nodded, then picked up her snacks and returned to her room. Only after seeing Sora close the door did Fang Zheng let out a sigh of relief.

Damn it...... in this crazy world, even cheating doesn’t work?!

After conducting several experiments, Fang Zheng finally understood why there was such a thing as an ”affection level.” Taking Sora as an example, Fang Zheng repeatedly tried exploring her different strategy methods using Future Sight, and discovered several patterns.

If Sora’s affection level dropped below 85, she would definitely commit suicide.

Even if it didn’t drop below 85, once the affection level dropped too much at once, Sora would still commit suicide.

Through these two points, Fang Zheng had roughly guessed where the malice of this world lay.

In other words, in this world, the affection level of the person he’s pursuing can only go up, not down!

Dropping it recklessly leads to all sorts of death flags!

This is really deadly!

This is truly an overstuffed world.

Fang Zheng was completely speechless about this; after experiencing so many brutal worlds and meeting many girls bearing painful fates, besides the green-haired one, none simply kept saying they wanted to die. How come in such a place with no superpowers, no villains, and no apocalyptic crisis, there’s so many who can’t take a shock without wanting to die?

But come to think of it, it’s normal for the heroine in romance novels to seek death over trivial matters......

Over the past few days, Fang Zheng also gained a clear understanding of the levels represented by affection levels.

10-20 is considered low, 20-40 is normal, 40-60 is friendly, 60-80 is admiration, 80-100 is love.

With this clear understanding, Fang Zheng relaxed a bit.

He knew very well there was a big difference between admiration and love. This is like many fans of celebrities; most fans are indeed quite passionate about celebrities, but truly willing to die for them—one or two out of ten thousand would be remarkable. The reason is simple: celebrities are high up, and most people spend their lives looking up to them. Cinderella’s story is popular because 9,999,999 out of ten million girls know they can’t possibly become Cinderella.

After understanding the ”rules” of this world, Fang Zheng naturally knew how to deal with the ”random options” of the Dice of Fate.

Every day, the Dice of Fate would randomly give Fang Zheng three daily tasks to choose one out of three. Although the tasks varied, they basically followed three routes—either turning Fang Zheng into a high and mighty prince, or into a Playboy flirting with various girls, lastly an unruly delinquent......

Alright, actually this is all just part of the plan.

Of course, in terms of ”safety,” being a delinquent is definitely the safest choice, since most good girls won’t and don’t dare get close to those who seem fierce and menacing. However, Fang Zheng thinks that the so-called delinquents in Japan are really silly and overly dramatic. Even if he were acting, he couldn’t tolerate lowering his intelligence to that level.

So, after thinking it over, Fang Zheng chose Route 1... Given his abilities, this wasn’t difficult at all.

Within just half a month of school starting, almost all the students at Sakanoue Academy had heard about the high school freshman who was not only top of the class but also excelled in sports, was handsome, charming, sophisticated, exceptionally talented, and carried himself with an unmatched aura...

But these are just basics...

”Ding dong...”

As the bell rang, the classroom immediately buzzed with noise.

”Ah, school’s finally over. Hey, where are we going next?”

”Let’s go for karaoke, let’s go for karaoke.”

”Have you decided on your club activities?”

”I’m planning to join the Astronomy Club...”

Chatting about various topics, the students left the classroom one by one with smiles on their faces. Naturally, there were quite a few girls among them...

”See you tomorrow, Classmate Haruno.”

”See you tomorrow.”

Hearing everyone’s greetings, Fang Zheng also smiled and nodded at them, which elicited a series of squeals from the girls before they turned and left, giggling.

”Whew...”

Once the classroom emptied out, Fang Zheng finally sighed with relief. It’s only been half a month since school started, but luckily, thanks to his ”image building,” most of the girls are in the ”admiration” phase towards him, and haven’t moved up to ”adoration” above the 80 mark. Yet as someone who has watched a lot of Japanese anime and played games, Fang Zheng knows that this is just the beginner phase. Next come club invitations, school festivals, and all sorts of ”EVENTS” that are the real ”main events.”

”Click.”

Just as Fang Zheng was packing his bag, the Dice of Fate silently appeared once more, falling, while three choices appeared before him.

[Go to the Rooftop]

[Go to the First Music Room]

[Go to the School Courtyard]

Is it a location choice this time?

Looking at the options before him, Fang Zheng scratched his head. Unlike before when he had to earn first place in exams, this condition seems like it’s meant to trigger an EVENT.

Whatever, I’ll... go check out the music room.

The music room is on the third floor of the school building, and it’s rarely visited by students. Naturally, Fang Zheng isn’t too concerned, though he is aware of the Light Music Club at the school. However, unfortunately, it’s not made up of four charmingly naive girls, so Fang Zheng lost interest.

But, the music room...

He walked up to the third floor, pushed open the door to the first music room, and saw an empty classroom with no one in it. Fang Zheng strolled in, glancing around.

Hmm, there’s no girl planning to hog this place for a strange club, nor is there an alien wearing glasses sitting by the window reading—actually, that’s probably the Literature Club.

Hmm?

At that moment, Fang Zheng suddenly saw a guitar placed in the corner, leading him to walk over and pick it up for a closer look. This guitar seemed to be quite old—in fact, wooden guitars are quite rare now.

Looking at the wooden guitar before him, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but recall himself in high school, playing the guitar and singing ”Girl From Across” in front of the girls’ dormitory.

Ah, youth...

Thinking of that, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but wipe the dust off the guitar, tune it, and gently strum the strings.

With nothing else to do, why not reminisce about the past?

Recalling his high school days, Fang Zheng’s lips curled into a slight smile as he began to softly strum the guitar and sing.

”Today I watched the snow drift by on a cold night, my heart chilled, drifting to far-off places... Chasing in the wind and rain, silhouettes indistinct in the fog, wide skies and seas, you and I...”

It was a hit song during Fang Zheng’s school days, a nostalgic piece for his generation. Everyone would gather in the dormitory, strumming guitars and singing off-key songs in Cantonese... Looking back now, it feels like a lifetime ago.

”...So many times, facing cold stares and ridicule, never giving up on the ideals in our hearts. In a fleeting moment, the feeling of loss; unnoticed, feelings have faded, love in my heart (who understands me)...”

The song echoed in the music room, and at that moment, someone ascended the stairs. Upon hearing the singing, that person curiously approached the music room door and peeked inside. Meanwhile, Fang Zheng was fully immersed in the tender memories of his youth.

”...Forgive me for loving freedom so recklessly in this life. I may fear falling one day... Abandoning ideals, anyone can do that, but will you still be with me when that day comes...!”

Fang Zheng’s voice wasn’t this remarkable back in the day. Although he was quite adept with instruments, his singing was merely average. But now, with the attribute boost, he could perform at a professional level.

And outside the music room, the gaze of the person looking at Fang Zheng gradually changed...
