Chapter 1364: Chapter 1363: Fang Zheng’s Ambition

Of course, Fang Zheng didn’t know how miserable Asuna was right now. In fact, he didn’t care. Because at the moment, he was enthusiastically discussing with Aika and Shizuku Hazuki about how to develop ”Dark Soul.” After listening to Fang Zheng’s specific ideas and descriptions of the game, everyone but Aika gasped.

”President, are you sure you’re not joking?”

Toyama Ryo was the first to express his doubt.

”You said we are to present this game as a Wushuang-style hack and slash game in the trailer, but according to your description, this isn’t that type of game at all...”

”Why not?”

In response to Toyama Ryo’s skepticism, Fang Zheng shrugged his shoulders.

”According to the playstyle I mentioned earlier, theoretically, as long as one’s skilled enough, it can indeed be a Wushuang game, right?”

”But that’s only theoretical. In reality, it’s likely that most players won’t even be able to pass the first boss... President, isn’t this false advertising?”

”How is this false advertising? We’re emphasizing that some people can indeed hack and slash in Wushuang style, not that everyone can. If you can’t, that just means you’re not skilled enough. Can you blame the game for being too hard?”

”This...”

Faced with Fang Zheng’s retort, Toyama Ryo was at a loss for words. But at this moment, Shizuku Hazuki also voiced her opinion.

”Even so, we should at least make it more player-friendly, right, President? According to you, each map only has one bonfire, and it’s the only place where players can rebirth and save. Every time players respawn, the creatures on the map also respawn, except for the bosses. This is just...”

Shizuku Hazuki didn’t continue, but it was clear from the tone that there was a lot of malicious intent. Fang Zheng just snorted.

”This is already pretty good. I initially wanted to cancel the bonfire’s teleportation function.”

”Hiss...”

Hearing this, everyone was even more shocked.

What grudge do you have against the players?

”You guys just don’t get it.”

Seeing everyone’s confused faces, Fang Zheng sighed in disappointment.

”Do you know what people are saying about us out there?”

”???”

Faced with Fang Zheng’s question, everyone exchanged glances. In fact, since the release of Pokémon and Duel Card, Eagle Jump had turned the tables, and gaming media worldwide praised Eagle Jump for leading the AR era of gaming, integrating games with reality, enjoyable for all ages, and hailed as the most conscientious game company in the world...

”But that’s all bullshit!”

Fang Zheng slammed the table, startling everyone.

”Sure, we created Pokémon and Duel Card, ushering in the AR gaming era. But can AR games really be considered games? I don’t want to just rely on plumbing games all my life, only making family-friendly games to get by. What we want to create is a real game! A video game! You get it?”

”This...”

Faced with Fang Zheng’s inquiry, everyone nodded. Of course, they understood what Fang Zheng meant. But frankly speaking, for Eagle Jump, this was also a huge challenge.

The previous Pokémon and Duel Card, although innovative in game modes, were essentially all-ages, leisurely, and cute games. Whether it was Pokémon or Summoning Card, they were mainly focused on cuteness, making it easy for Eagle Jump since most of their previous games were of this type.

However, aside from earning a pioneer’s crown, such games struggled to gain much recognition. Perhaps they did add new platforms and types to video games, but compared to the entrenched titans, they were still far behind.

Clearly, what Fang Zheng wanted was not just a new game, but a classic!

”What we are creating is not just a game, nor just a good game. Have you watched the Olympics? We all know how tough the challenges are. But every champion gets applause because that champion represents being the best in the world at that event!”

”But... how does this relate to the game we’re making?”

Faced with Fang Zheng’s speech, Toyama Ryo looked puzzled, while Shizuku Hazuki seemed to have grasped something and started pondering.

”We are creating the Olympics of the gaming world!”

Fang Zheng suddenly waved his hand.

”We don’t expect everyone to be able to complete the game, just like not everyone can compete in the Olympics. But we can ensure that everyone knows that players who complete this game are undoubtedly superior!”

”I get it!”

Hearing this, Shizuku Hazuki also got excited.

”Indeed, when you think about it, this game is difficult, but there’s a reason for it. It’s a comprehensive trial of the player’s will, reaction, and wisdom!”

Saying this, Shizuku Hazuki was also thrilled. As a senior executive in the company, she naturally understood what this meant. If they could truly succeed, Eagle Jump would hold unparalleled influence in the gaming world.

From then on, games worldwide might use ”Dark Soul” as a benchmark!

”Exactly.”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng snapped his fingers in satisfaction. To be honest, this was also his goal. For Fang Zheng, this was what he truly wanted to do. Although he was currently the Time Dragon, Swarm Overlord, God of Magical Girls, Admiral of the Sea Mist Fleet, ruling several universes, these were just measures for self-preservation in the Main World. But these were not his true goals.

His goal has always been one: making games!

What truth, what origin, what world essence, are more fun than games?

I always love making games that challenge players. (Dog Head Meme)

One must stay true to oneself. Just because you become a dragon, a god, a Paladin, or a Swarm Overlord, you shouldn’t forget your essence as a game designer!

If it weren’t for the fact that the Main World is Fang Zheng’s stronghold and there’s the threat of Chaos Waves, Fang Zheng would have long been lost in making games!

Moreover, even if he can’t indulge in game development all the time, doing it occasionally is quite nice.

Once the general direction was set, others naturally had no more objections. In fact, many of them were quite excited because if they could indeed create a benchmark game for the gaming world... just thinking about it was thrilling!

”Well then, let’s wrap it up, meeting adjourned!”

Fang Zheng waved his hand, announcing the end of the meeting, and everyone immediately got up to tend to their tasks. Meanwhile, Fang Zheng’s communication device rang.

”Asuna?”

He glanced at the message, paused, then answered the call.

”Asuna, what’s up? What’s going on?”

To Fang Zheng’s surprise, a scream came from the other end.

”Waaah! Mr. Fang Zheng, help!”
