Chapter 1374: Chapter 1373: Knight of Chaos

Just as the black light was about to pierce the Star Forging Dragon King’s skull, the gigantic Star Dragon before him suddenly vanished, and Fang Zheng swiftly turned around in human form. He wielded a greatsword burning with primordial fire and swung it at the black light ahead!

Indeed, just as Fang Zheng was about to be struck, he decisively canceled the form of the Star Forging Dragon King and returned to his true self. This opened a gap in what was initially unavoidable, granting Fang Zheng a chance to strike back!

”Boom!!”

The flames collided with the black light, causing the entire world to tremble as Fang Zheng and the black light both retreated. At the same time, the sealing around Fang Zheng shattered like glass hit by a stone, revealing the outside world.

Meanwhile, Lothric behind the black light was engulfed in a sea of flames.

Only then did Fang Zheng recognize the true form of the black light.

It was a knight clad in black armor, tall and holding a knight’s longspear, riding a unicorn. The entire figure appeared enveloped in chaotic flames, and in the gap of the helmet, a glimpse of shining brilliance could be seen.

”Hmph!”

Seeing this, Fang Zheng let out a cold hum, and with a sudden flare of primordial fire, the knight armor from the Undead Squad appeared on him once more......

MMP, next time I must summon a Phoenix!

Clenching the black and white twin swords, Fang Zheng secretly vowed. He did not bother to use reins of the Headless Knight to match his opponent, as he was not skilled in mounted combat, which would only waste his advantage. The power of the Farron Knights isn’t embodied on horseback!

But still, it’s frustrating!

Why can’t I summon a Phoenix!!

Feeling secretly vexed, Fang Zheng coldly stared at the knight ahead. If Fang Zheng guessed correctly, he already suspected the true identity of this Chaos Knight, but....... his presence here was indeed surprising to Fang Zheng.

Could there be some untold PY deal between this guy and that wicked dragon?

Considering the opponent’s attack seemed designed to force him to let go and save the dragon, Fang Zheng deemed it quite possible. However, he wasn’t one of those naive protagonists in TV dramas who let the tiger go back to the mountain when faced with threats to their lives. Fang Zheng would be foolish to act like that. He had countless ways to preserve his life, and the chance to eliminate the evil dragon now, while it was severely weakened, was the only one. Wasn’t the choice obvious?

”You’ve made a mistake.”

At this moment, the Chaos Knight spoke.

”You have no idea what you’re doing......”

”I know exactly what I’m doing. I’m just as clear as you, or perhaps even clearer.”

Fang Zheng interrupted the Chaos Knight’s speech with irritation.

”Spare me the chitchat. There’s no room for reconciliation between us. You know we came here to eliminate the entire Twilight Frontier! So, are you going to fight back, or are you just going to talk endlessly?”

Fang Zheng essentially tore away pretense, but he had no choice. Seeing the Pope here made him swiftly alter his plan. Initially, Fang Zheng planned to coordinate with the Magitech Nation and the Kingdom of the Holy Church, form an alliance, and then proceed to the Twilight Frontier with strategy.

But the Pope’s disappearance and appearance at the Twilight Frontier triggered Fang Zheng to revise his plan, opting for the Heavenly Dao Palace to establish a fortress at the Twilight Frontier first, then have the Magitech Nation and the Holy Church follow suit. Determined to ensure stability at the rear and prevent any incidents before he leaves the planet, Fang Zheng was adamant about sweeping through the entire Twilight Frontier.

The Chaos Knight Order hiding in the Twilight Frontier was naturally an enemy he must eliminate.

As for the one before him......

”.......how foolish.”

The Chaos Knight shook his head, seemingly unaffected by Fang Zheng’s words.

”The power of Chaos is eternal. Your struggle is futile, even if you annihilate the Twilight Frontier, how can you resist Chaos? Eventually, you will fall beneath Chaos.”

”Hey, brother, I see you have bad luck written all over your face and will perish soon; why not give yourself a clean end now? If everything in the world will eventually be destroyed, what’s the point of living?”

Fang Zheng dug his ears, filled with disdain.

Spare me with nonsense about everything disappearing; I’m a Time Dragon; don’t I know better?

Yet if everyone thought like this, what’s the point of living? Everyone will die, right.

You’re just spewing nonsense.

”I have things I need to accomplish.”

Countered by Fang Zheng, the Chaos Knight clenched the knight’s longspear, his voice growing more irate.

”Once I finish everything.......”

”You don’t have the chance.”

Fang Zheng interrupted him again.

”As long as I’m here, you won’t have a chance, not in this life or the next. Either fight or leave; what are you wasting time discussing with me for? Do you think I’m unaware of your ulterior motives? Indeed, the Sanctuary acted unfairly, but weren’t you all foolish then?”

”You...... what are you talking about?”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s response, the Chaos Knight’s voice grew more furious.

”You have no idea what kind of treatment we’ve endured!”

”No matter the treatment, it’s not an excuse for you to collude with Chaos and betray Order!”

Fang Zheng interrupted the Chaos Knight again.

”If the Sanctuary tried to undermine you, you could have simply declared ’This Sanctuary is incompetent!’ and overthrown the Cardinal Council. This was a matter of internal conflict, right? Yet you deliberately colluded with Chaos to engage in a full-scale war with Order? What gives? Were you paladins back in the day illiterate or just stubbornly ignorant?”

Regarding the plight of these fallen Chaos Knights, Fang Zheng was naturally sympathetic and found them foolish. As Fang Zheng stated, the past conflict was a power struggle between the Cardinal Council and the Holy Spirit Order, an internal matter within Order. Thus, it’s natural for the Goddess of Order to remain uninvolved, as long as it conformed to the way of Order.

Within Order, whether the Holy Spirit Order overthrew the Cardinal Council or the Cardinal purged the Holy Spirit Order, the outcome was essentially the same.

Yet the Holy Spirit Order lost their heads and directly colluded with Chaos!

This reeks of two factions at war, with one believing they can’t win and colluding with foreign criminals...... Even if you have grievances, it’s all in vain.

It’s like Wu Sangui during the early years, who was considered an anti-Qing hero, and later discovered the Ming Dynasty was doomed, so he let the Qing army in.

And the result?

No matter Wu Sangui’s historical achievements or grievances, he’d just be nailed to the pillar of shame!

The reputation of a Traitor of Han and national sellout will follow him to the world’s end! Consequently, from Fang Zheng’s perspective, taking a stance is crucial before discussing right or wrong. If your position is skewed, no grievance will suffice. Even if your family is murdered, it’s not justification for colluding with foreign enemies to invade your country. Of course, if you personally seek revenge and wreak havoc, Fang Zheng would likely applaud, but deliberately leading foreign threats into your country is a different matter!

Traitor of Order, disgrace to humanity, a national criminal.

As the vanguard of protecting Order, and as a Holy Spirit Knight favored by the Goddess of Order, you surrendered and betrayed – just for this reason, any grievance previously felt is deserved, and nobody can justify it!

”Saying this now is meaningless!”

Upon hearing this, the Chaos Knight also yelled furiously, raising the knight’s longspear once more.

”Then I shall see what skills you have to resist Chaos!”

”If I can’t beat you, I might as well return home and sell sweet potatoes.”

Fang Zheng kept taunting, while his hands tightly gripped the black and white twin blades, with the scorching primordial fire fiercely burning, making him appear like a blazing sun in the heavens. The two faced off for a moment in the air, before the Chaos Knight suddenly drove the unicorn forward, rushing towards Fang Zheng. At the same time, Fang Zheng charged forward as well, holding tightly to the twin blades and rushing at the Chaos Knight before him.

In the blink of an eye, the gap between them narrowed to its limit. The Chaos Knight then raised the knight’s longspear, forcefully stabbing at Fang Zheng ahead.

At the same time, Fang Zheng raised the white dagger in his hand, confronting the longspear wielded by the Chaos Knight!
