Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1361: Chapter 1360: Culture Shock

”Are you planning to take them to our world?”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s request, Asuna was somewhat surprised. She paused for a moment before speaking hesitantly.

”But...uh, Mr. Fang Zheng, I always feel like they don’t seem to like me very much...”

”They’re just feeling a bit uncomfortable with the clothes you’re wearing.”

”Uncomfortable?”

”Yeah, unlike the others you’ve met before, they’re from ancient times...hmm, in terms of an era you’re familiar with, they’re from the Heian period, so their mindset is quite conservative, different from modern times.”

”Ah, I see...”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s explanation, Asuna immediately nodded in realization, and then she thought for a moment.

”So...should I wear a kimono?”

”.......”

That doesn’t seem quite right either.

In the end, at Fang Zheng’s suggestion, Asuna changed into a relatively conservative, knee-length, casual home dress. This was at least within the acceptable range for Lin Yueru and Zhao Ling’er. In fact, if you look at the styles alone, the differences between ancient and modern times aren’t that big. For example, the combat attire Zhao Ling’er and Lin Yueru wore in ancient times looks like advanced sportswear with a somewhat special design today. Similarly, the dress Asuna wore was a style commonly worn by many women in ancient times too.

Aside from a few differences in the length of the skirt and the degree of exposure, everything else was pretty much the same.

This shows that the so-called fashion leading the times is nonsense. The clothes people wore hundreds of years ago and those worn today are essentially the same, except for differences in fabric and concept.

Those plastic bag and toilet paper outfits on the Paris fashion shows, even if sold for tens of millions of US Dollars, won’t be worn by anyone.

Then soon, under Fang Zheng’s lead, everyone headed to the Game World.

”Master, where are we going?”

”Hmm......”

Facing Zhao Ling’er’s inquiry, Fang Zheng thought for a moment before answering.

”Let’s go to Eagle Leap first.”

”What’s that?”

”A game development company.”

Saying this, Fang Zheng winked at Zhao Ling’er and Lin Yueru.

”You aren’t strangers to video games, right?”

Sure enough, upon hearing the word ”game,” Zhao Ling’er and Lin Yueru showed a lot of interest. After all, they had played many games on the computer at Fang Zheng’s place, and thanks to Aika, they even had some understanding of game development. Of course, they had also heard from Fang Zheng that real games require a lot of people to develop, and now, hearing that Fang Zheng was taking them to a game development site, the two were extremely excited.

Soon, Fang Zheng drove with the three to Eagle Leap. To his surprise, just as they arrived at the company’s entrance, they saw a small blonde figure dressed in sportswear pacing back and forth.

”Gabriel, what are you doing?”

Seeing Gabriel sneaking around the entrance with her AR glasses on, Fang Zheng’s face was full of black lines. Hearing Fang Zheng’s voice, Gabriel jumped in shock and turned her head. Upon seeing Fang Zheng, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

”Oh, it’s you, Fang Zheng... you scared me, I thought you were Vena... But since you’re here, tell me where Wings of Death is!?”

”Say what??”

”Wings of Death!”

Gabriel waved her arms in frustration.

”It’s about this new Pokémon event, searching for and defeating Wings of Death. We spent a huge effort turning that Wings of Death into a Little Fairy form, and yet it escaped! Now, Pokémon players worldwide are looking for it! Come on, isn’t this game made by Eagle Leap? You’re the boss, right? You should know where Wings of Death is!”

”Heh.”

Hearing Gabriel’s inquiry, Fang Zheng sneered.

”Since you know I’m the boss, you should also know I’m still making money from this, so why would I tell you?”

”Oh, come on, aren’t we comrades who would share life and death? Just...!”

”Gabu!!”

Suddenly, a voice came from not far away. Upon hearing this voice, Gabriel, who was planning to sweet-talk Fang Zheng, turned pale, immediately turned around, and ran away, disappearing into the alley in a blink.

”Gabu!”

This time, Vinet rushed over and, seeing Fang Zheng and the group, she quickly stopped and bowed respectfully to Fang Zheng.

”Ah, hello, Mr. Fang Zheng...”

”Hey, Vinet, why are you in such a hurry, are you looking for Gabriel?”

”Yes, Mr. Fang Zheng...”

”By the way.”

Seeing Vinet, Fang Zheng suddenly remembered something.

”Is Gabriel still a shut-in lately?”

Fang Zheng still remembered that he had once given Vinet a Divine Artifact specifically to ”restrain” Gabriel.

However, to Fang Zheng’s surprise, hearing his inquiry, Vinet began to complain with a mournful face.

”It’s completely useless, Mr. Fang Zheng. Ever since the launch of AR glasses on the market, Gabu has been running around every day to collect those Little Fairies, completely not returning home! And she doesn’t eat properly nor sleep enough, sometimes even going abroad just to catch those rare fairies...”

Saying this, Vinet was also feeling exhausted. Gabriel used to be annoying but was at least a shut-in, managing her was easy. But now that Gabriel has graduated from being a shut-in, she’s even harder to deal with!

”Hang in there.”

Seeing Vinet’s helpless expression, Fang Zheng sympathetically patted her shoulder and pointed toward the alley a short distance away.

”Gabriel ran that way.”

”Thank you, Mr. Fang Zheng!”

After bowing respectfully to Fang Zheng, Vinet dashed off angrily in pursuit. Meanwhile, Zhao Ling’er curiously approached Fang Zheng.

”Master, who was that blond girl just now?”

”Hmm? Is there anything wrong?”

”Yes... I observed that her spiritual energy was abundant, unlike a mortal...”

”She’s indeed not human, but an Angel.”

”An... Angel?”

”A messenger from the heavens.”

While talking, Fang Zheng pointed to the sky, and Zhao Ling’er pondered for a moment, then showed an expression of sudden realization.

”Ah, so she’s a fairy.”

”..........”

Gabriel? A fairy?

”Hahaha...”

Fang Zheng laughed heartily towards the sky, then turned and walked towards the Eagle Leap building.

For the next three months, he would be living off this joke!
