Chapter 1363: Chapter 1362: Killed by You Two (Better Get My Neck Checked Tomorrow)

After finalizing the upcoming plan, Fang Zheng immediately pulled Aika and Shizuku Hazuki to start discussing the specifics of the Dark Soul game planning, while he left the job of showing Zhao Ling’er and Lin Yueru around to...Asuna.

”Anyway, you know this world way better than I do, so I’ll leave it to you.”

Although Fang Zheng said that, Asuna had no idea what to do. After all, it was her first time taking someone on a tour of her world, especially considering that Lin Yueru and Zhao Ling’er were different from the previous Nanoha and Akemi Homura; these two came from completely different eras and countries.

Even though they had the ”language comprehension” ability to communicate without barriers, it didn’t mean they could understand each other. Like what Zhao Ling’er was talking about earlier—things like spiritual energy and vitality—left Asuna completely baffled, having no idea what they were talking about.

Fortunately, three heads are better than one. After receiving the task from Fang Zheng, Asuna immediately called Black Cat and Eiriri for help. After listening to Asuna’s explanation of the whole situation, Black Cat and Eiriri were also thrilled.

”So you’re saying that this time Mr. Fang Zheng brought back two people from the Heian Era?”

”It’s just a metaphor. According to Mr. Fang Zheng... they are from... Southern Song China?”

”In other words, they’re not from the modern era, right.”

Eiriri quickly caught the point.

”This is really interesting. I’ve seen aliens and magical girls, but I’ve never met people from ancient times!”

”Oh right! Asuna, we’re just in time for the festival, why not bring them to join the festival!”

”Eh? Is there a festival recently?”

Hearing Eiriri’s proposal, Asuna was taken aback and thought carefully, not remembering any shrine festivals being held recently.

At this moment, Black Cat also joined in.

”It’s an important festival for us, held twice a year, and the fairies are here too, so it’ll be more lively if we all have fun together.”

”But... I think I should get them new clothes first; they’re still wearing ancient outfits...”

”No problem, no problem! That’s even better, and at a festival, no one will question strange outfits, it’s fine! Everyone can enjoy the festival together, and then we can go shopping afterward, isn’t that better?”

Is she talking about some kind of masquerade ball?

Upon hearing such enthusiastic suggestions from Eiriri and Black Cat, after some consideration, Asuna decided to accept their invitation.

”Alright, so where is the festival being held?”

Although Asuna had doubts after getting the address from Eiriri, when she brought Zhao Ling’er and Lin Yueru to the location Eiriri mentioned, her doubts only deepened.

”Is this the marketplace?”

Seeing the strange building in front of them, Lin Yueru and Zhao Ling’er couldn’t hide their inner questions. Initially, when Asuna mentioned a ”festival,” they thought of either a ritual similar to the Miao Tribe’s sky worship or a market held during the Dragon Boat Festival or Mid-Autumn Festival in the City of Suzhou.

But right now, this... what is this?

Men wearing strange clothes were everywhere, occasionally casting curious looks at them...although not with malicious intent, it still made them uncomfortable.

”Ugh... Eiriri said it’s here... I feel like I’ve been tricked...”

Though Asuna realized something was off, there was no turning back now. She had to put on a brave face and lead the two inside.

However, the further they went, the more they felt something was wrong. They noticed many men in peculiar outfits holding phones, staring at them breathlessly like wolves eyeing their prey...

”Uh, excuse me...”

At this moment, a man with a headband approached the three of them and started speaking to Lin Yueru.

”May I, uh, take a picture with you?”

”Eh?”

Surprised by the sudden request, Lin Yueru was taken aback. She wasn’t a novice anymore, after all the ”influence” from Fang Zheng, she knew what taking a picture meant. But typically, pictures are taken with family or friends as a memento, right?

Why would this stranger want a picture of her?

”No way!”

If it were Zhao Ling’er, she might have agreed, but Lin Yueru gave a cold snort, glaring fiercely at the man. This glare made him break out in a cold sweat, and he turned and left without a word.

”Hmph! What nonsense!”

Disgruntled, Lin Yueru watched the man disappear into the crowd and asked Asuna seriously.

”Are all the people here in your world so rude, casually talking to unfamiliar women?”

”Well...”

Asuna didn’t know how to respond to Lin Yueru’s inquiry...

”Click, click...”

Just then, the three of them heard a faint sound and turned to see a chubby man in a magical girl T-shirt holding a phone and snapping photos of Zhao Ling’er and Lin Yueru. Upon noticing their gaze, he quickly turned and fled with a nervous grin.

”Trying to run?!”

Seeing this, Lin Yueru gave a cold snort. She reached to her waist, drew out her long whip, and lashed it at the man! With a ”snap,” the man fell to the ground with a scream, the lash having left a bloody mark on his back.

”Oh wow!!”

The man, who had never been so humiliated, started crying out on the ground. Lin Yueru, meanwhile, walked over and stepped on his stomach. The odd thing was, although the man was much taller and bulkier than Lin Yueru, he couldn’t move a muscle under her foot.

”You rogue, who gave you permission to sneak a photo of us!”

Faced with Lin Yueru’s stern questioning, the man cried out in pain, prompting the crowd to disperse in fear. Asuna came to her senses, rushing to Lin Yueru’s side.

”Miss Tsukiru, umm... please let him go. What he did was wrong, but what you’re doing is illegal...”

”Hmph!”

Eyeing the man in disgust, Lin Yueru finally lifted her foot.

”If this were Suzhou, just for your behavior, I would gouge out your eyes and chop off your hands!”

”Gasp—!”

Hearing this, Asuna drew a sharp breath.

Is she serious?

Is her world really that terrifying?

”Sister Yueru, this isn’t our world, let’s just let it go.”

At this point, Zhao Ling’er also stepped in, taking Lin Yueru’s hand and glancing at the man with raised eyebrows.

”I’ll spare you this time, but if there’s a next time, you’ll face this!”

As she spoke, Zhao Ling’er swung her hand, and with a ”boom,” a thunderbolt struck down from the sky, shattering the man’s phone into pieces. Everyone present was left speechless by the scene.

”Whistle—!!!”

Suddenly, a series of urgent whistles pierced the air, and Asuna turned to see several uniformed staff rushing towards them. Apparently, the commotion had caught their attention.

”What happened here?!”

”Not good!!”

If it were just Asuna, she would feel confident in persuading them. But after what transpired, Asuna knew all too well that the worldviews of these two differed entirely from her own. If things went south, it could turn into a real brawl!

That would be a huge problem!

”Miss Tsukiru, Miss Ling’er, let’s go!”

With this thought, Asuna didn’t hesitate for a second and quickly grabbed Zhao Ling’er and Lin Yueru, sprinting in the opposite direction.

Eiriri, Black Cat, this is all your fault!
