Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 535: Chapter 534: The Carefree Life of a Salted Fish (Part 1)

After returning to Heavenly Dao Palace once more, Fang Zheng ultimately started the salted fish life he had ”longed for.”

There was no need to worry about the battles between Chaos and Order, no need to scheme against other powers, and no need to chat and drink tea with irrelevant people. On the contrary, Fang Zheng’s life could now be described as utterly mundane.

Every day, after waking up, he would first have breakfast with the lolis, then return to his room to deal with official business. Later, he would go to ”Synapsus” to learn the basics and theoretical courses about Little Angels from Nymph. After class, Fang Zheng would casually visit the three academies, then randomly invite Black Katie, Tilia or Nymph to lunch. Afterward, he would stroll around Heavenly Dao Palace, and in the afternoon, he would head to the Guardian’s Office to chat and drink tea with the Misty Seas.

As for the evenings... um, most of the time if Tilia sneakily entered Fang Zheng’s room, what followed was certainly indescribable...

Although such a life may seem a bit decadent and slack, for Fang Zheng...

”It’s so comfortable...”

Leaning back in his chair and looking out of the window at the sky, Fang Zheng let out a long sigh. Just then, a voice rose up not far from him.

”Sir, your set meal is ready.”

”Thanks, Satono.”

Looking at the cake dessert and coffee placed before him, Fang Zheng nodded at Satono. At his response, Satono’s face turned slightly red, and she lowered her head.

”It’s nothing, it’s my job.”

”Job, huh...”

Hearing Satono’s reply, Fang Zheng glanced around, then curiously asked,

”But speaking of which, are you the only one in this shop? It must be hard to manage.”

Since it was class time, Rabbit Home was not very crowded. But Fang Zheng knew very well that as soon as it was lunchtime or after school in the afternoon, Rabbit Home became extremely busy. When it was being built, Fang Zheng had not given it much thought and had simply placed Rabbit Home beneath the three schools. This led to the kids coming here to sit and do nothing after class every day, and some even treated it like a cafeteria.

Fang Zheng had watched several times when Rabbit Home was packed after class. Back then, Satono was so busy running around making coffee and preparing sweets by herself, and besides, she was just a child...

”I also find it a bit troublesome, but... I’m happy to serve so many customers...”

Saying this, Satono smiled shyly. Now, facing Fang Zheng, she was no longer as nervous as before. After all, Fang Zheng was a regular customer, and he was kind to Satono, so to her, the big brother in front of her wasn’t so scary after all.

”Ah, I’ll go to the back to sort out some things, please wait a moment.”

”Don’t worry about it, go ahead.”

Watching Satono’s figure disappear behind the counter, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but shake his head with a smile. He had to admit that this coffee shop had a very cozy and peaceful atmosphere, which was probably why the Cursed Children liked coming here. But speaking of which... it was about time to exchange for a hot spring inn.

Thinking of this, Fang Zheng was reminded of the previous Goddess Baths. If Goddesses had baths, then he should also indulge in some nice stuff! Now that he was not short of Dimensional Points, it was time to start expanding!

Just do it!

Without any hesitation, Fang Zheng quickly opened the Dimensional Codex System in front of him, and then opened the exchange section.

Um... first, entertainment... leisure...

Hanabishi Planetarium...

Well, having a planetarium in town wouldn’t be bad, it could even elevate the class of the place. Open it!

Kitanatei...

A hot spring inn is a must-have, open it!

Earl D’s Pet Shop...

Can pets from other worlds be brought to Heavenly Dao Palace? Better hold off on this one. For some reason, Fang Zheng always had a bad feeling about it.

Amagi Brilliant Amusement Park...

Speaking of which, it’s true that we’re missing an amusement park here, but why is there an exclamation mark on the exchange icon? Could it be a mission item? If that’s the case, Fang Zheng would have to think carefully about it. He just wanted to live a brief salted fish life for now. Missions could wait until later.

Invention Atelier...

What’s this? From the name, it should be something like an Alchemy Atelier, right? Let’s see what the description says... um, an atelier that could help revive the city, inventing and selling goods?

Sounds interesting, open it!

Next up is...

”Wow———!!”

Just as Fang Zheng was considering what else to open, suddenly, a scream came from inside, and he looked up to see Satono, pale-faced, rush in from the back door and hide behind him.

”Mr. Fang Zheng, please save me!”

”What happened? What’s the matter?”

Looking at Satono with her pale, ashen face, Fang Zheng was also taken aback. This was just an ordinary coffee shop, right? Could it be related to some murder case?

”Behind, in the changing room, there’s an unfamiliar girl... without any clothes on...”

”......”

Meow meow meow? What the heck?

Facing Satono’s reply, Fang Zheng was completely dumbfounded, and just as he was about to stand up to see what was going on, he saw another girl appear at the back door. She looked two or three years older than Satono, dressed in a purple uniform similar in style to Satono’s, complete with a pair of twin ponytails. As for her looks... Well, she was pretty cute.

”Is this the girl you mentioned?”

Seeing the girl before him, Fang Zheng turned his head to look at Satono and asked, while Satono nodded her head timidly.

”When I pushed the door open, I saw her standing there naked, and she even pointed a gun at me...”

”What?”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng was even more baffled. What’s going on? A girl standing naked in the changing room... Okay, he could understand if she was about to change clothes, but what was with holding a gun?

”Who are you?”

Seeing how jittery Satono was, it was clear she was quite frightened, so Fang Zheng didn’t bother trying to get more details from her. Instead, he turned his head to face the girl in question and asked. Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s question, the girl lifted her head and put a hand on her waist.

”My name is Tendo Rio. I was assigned here as a new waitress through my dad’s introduction!”

”...Assigned?”

This isn’t the sixties or seventies; do we still have state job allocations? Which school did you graduate from, sister?

”Sorry, could you clarify a bit?”

While patting Satono’s head to calm her down, Fang Zheng spoke up again. This time, Rio seemed to notice Satono’s reaction and somewhat embarrassedly coughed.

”Here’s the thing...”

The misunderstanding was simple to clear up. Essentially, Rio’s father knew Satono’s father, and since Rio wanted a part-time job and her father was aware that Rabbit Home was short-staffed, she was introduced to work here... Well, that made sense.

”...So, starting today you’ll be my superior! Please take good care of me!”

”-----------!!”

Upon hearing this, Satono, who had just gathered enough courage to step out from behind Fang Zheng, shrank back in fear. Watching this, Fang Zheng just shook his head with a sigh. Kid, can’t you just speak normally? What’s with acting like a gang leader trying to take over turf?

But since it was clear that the other party wasn’t some bandit or robber, Satono naturally wasn’t as scared as before, though she remained a bit nervous facing Rio. Fang Zheng could understand this, partly because Satono was inherently a bit shy and easily frightened and partly because this Rio character was just too ”unique.”

”Snap!!”

Rio suddenly snapped the menu shut and then trotted over to where Satono was shivering behind the counter, and stood at attention before her.

”Commander Satono! I have memorized the entire menu; please give your instructions!”

”...Well then, next, I’ll teach you how to make latte art... art...”

So interesting...

Watching Satono, shivering and nervously teaching Rio how to make latte art behind the counter, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but laugh. He had intended to leave after finishing his coffee, but he couldn’t resist Satono’s pitiful ”please, brother, I don’t want to be alone with her” look, so he decided to stay and enjoy the show. It really was entertaining.

”Ah...”

Perhaps because she was too nervous, Satono’s hands trembled, and standing beside her, arms crossed, Rio spoke with a serious expression.

”Don’t be nervous! Tighten your arms, and focus on the target!”

”Pfft!”

It’s just making latte art, why are you treating it like a shooting drill, girl?

Seeing this, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

It seems like Rabbit Home might become a lot livelier in the future...
