Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 514: Chapter 513 This is a World Dominated by Monsters

```
”Well, this time the world... has finally not been destroyed.”
Having just teleported, Fang Zheng looked at the ruins in front of him and was about to complain, but after seeing the city not far away, he finally felt relieved.
The world hasn’t been destroyed, which is really great.
However, what exactly is going on?
Looking at the high-rises in front of him that were clearly destroyed by some external force, Fang Zheng also felt uneasy. He didn’t know much about Godzilla, as he wasn’t exactly an avid monster enthusiast. His understanding of Godzilla came from a movie he had watched on TV when he was a child, where the most memorable scene for Fang Zheng was at the start of the film when an old man was fishing at the dock and then ”caught” a huge creature. And at the end of the movie, that creature laid a bunch of eggs in a stadium, while the protagonist and others were desperately fighting the monster’s hatchlings inside the stadium. freewebnøvel.coɱ
Truth be told, Fang Zheng had long forgotten the name of that movie, and it was only when he saw it again by chance as an adult that he discovered it was called Godzilla.
After that, Fang Zheng also watched another movie named Godzilla. What he remembered was the battle between Godzilla and two monsters called Muto. The most memorable thing for Fang Zheng was the Muto’s wide-range EMP capability, as well as Godzilla’s photon ray.
But that was about it.
As for how these things appeared, and what exactly Godzilla was all about, Fang Zheng had no idea. In fact, it was the EMP ability of Muto that he was interested in, which was why he chose the world of Godzilla.
But if Fang Zheng remembered correctly, in that movie, both Godzilla and the Muto didn’t appear at the beginning. One was hiding in who knows where, and the other two seemed to be kept hidden by the Americans for research. If there were any urban ruins in that movie, it would be the Japanese nuclear power plant at the very start.
But... that should be a Japanese city, right? So why does this place look like it’s in America?
”Hey, what are you doing there?”
Just as Fang Zheng was feeling puzzled, suddenly a voice came from not far behind him. Fang Zheng turned around and saw a black, overweight policeman standing not too far away, staring at him. It was not until this moment that Fang Zheng realized he had teleported to a restricted area.
”Hurry up and come out! You’re not allowed to be here!”
”Sorry, sorry.”
Faced with the black policeman’s roar, Fang Zheng appeared unconcerned, apologizing while hurrying out. Seeing that he was obedient, the black policeman’s face eased up a lot. He looked Fang Zheng up and down and then started to inquire.
”Are you a tourist? You’re not allowed in here, and besides, there’s nothing much to see. Those damn kaiju have destroyed everything, now there are only ruins left.”
”Kaiju? Blossom Beast?”
To hear such an odd word from a black policeman was quite perplexing for Fang Zheng.
”What is that?”
”It’s monsters, don’t you know? Really strange, I thought you were one of those idiots who worship monsters...”
”...???”
Faced with the black policeman’s words, Fang Zheng was even more puzzled, but he started to feel that... this didn’t seem to match his memory of Godzilla at all?
Thinking this, Fang Zheng asked tentatively.
”Are you talking about Godzilla?”
”Godzilla?”
On hearing this, the black policeman let out a sigh.
”Haven’t seen that guy in a long time. To be honest, I do want to see if that monster could be a match for these kaiju. Ah...”
”...”
Meow meow meow? What the hell is going on?
In the face of the black policeman’s lament, Fang Zheng was completely lost. The policeman seemed unwilling to say more, just waved his hand and then gestured for Fang Zheng to leave.
”Alright, kid, since you’re not one of those monster believers, then stay away from this damned place. There are still toxins left by them here, if you don’t want to die then leave.”
```

”Thanks for the reminder,”

Fang Zheng had no intention of lingering, and after thanking the black police officer, he immediately turned and left. To Fang Zheng, the most crucial task at hand was to figure out exactly what kind of world this was. In fact, during his conversation with the black police officer, Fang Zheng had already formed a guess, but... it couldn’t be, could it?

After leaving the ruins, Fang Zheng realized that he was on the west coast of America. The bustling crowd around him seemed quite lively, and there was no hint on their faces that they had experienced a monster attack. Furthermore, Fang Zheng saw a variety of monster patterns and animations on the large screens along the streets, almost as if humans had turned these creatures into a form of entertainment.

”Well, let’s see what kind of world this is,”

Having settled into a five-star hotel, Fang Zheng leaned back in the chair on the balcony. As he gazed out at the seascape, he opened his laptop in front of him and squinted his eyes, his fingers poised over the keyboard. Soon, patterns began to emerge rapidly on the screen, flashing quickly before his eyes. About half an hour later, Fang Zheng closed his eyes and stretched out his hand to rub his forehead.

”Phew... I really am too tired when I’m on my own. It would have been so much better if Nymph could have come with me...”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng opened his eyes. Just now, he had browsed through the network information and got a rough grasp of this world.

And this world, as Fang Zheng had thought, was a Monster World.

But it wasn’t confined to just any one monster, that simple.

According to the information Fang Zheng could find online, the first and clearly documented appearance was Godzilla, whose emergence shook the whole world. Godzilla later disappeared without a trace, but humans then began their research and search for monsters.

Following that, a type of monster called ”kaiju” (which Fang Zheng referred to directly as Blossom Beast) emerged from the depths of the ocean and began attacking humans. As per the combined investigation by various nations, these monsters hailed from a dimensional passage located at the bottom of the ocean. At first, combating these creatures consumed a tremendous amount of human effort, but in the end, humanity united to create a gigantic Mech Hunter named Jericho to fight these monsters.

With the efforts of these giant mechs, humans repelled the attacking monsters time after time.

Even so, they had reached their limit.

As time passed, monsters grew accustomed to the Mech Hunters’ methods of attack, and their raids became more frequent. The production of Mech Hunters clearly couldn’t keep up with the rate at which monsters were appearing. In this situation, people had begun to consider building protective walls to prevent the creatures from approaching their land. As for Mech Hunters... well, they were probably used for defense?

”Is this all the information that the civilian network can find?”

As he tapped on the keyboard, Fang Zheng furrowed his brows.

”It would be so much better if Nymph was here...”

Thinking of the Little Angel, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but sigh. This time, on his trip to this world, Fang Zheng did not bring Little Angel along. On the one hand, Little Angel was busy analyzing the remnants and core left by the Giant of Light; on the other hand, this instance was limited to entities with the ”biological” attribute.

Unfortunately, as an ”Artificial Angel,” Nymph did not qualify as a complete ”biological” entity.

Therefore, the only ones Fang Zheng could bring into the instance were the Zerg and the Cursed Child. The latter was not something Fang Zheng intended to bring to Monster World, as there was no room for them to play their part; thus, naturally, only the Zerg remained.

Fortunately for Fang Zheng, he was not entirely without options. Before leaving, he had specially found Nymph and performed ”Ability Absorption” on Little Angel, thus gaining a part of Little Angel’s abilities.

That’s right, a part.

Although the ”Ability Absorption” skill could copy and absorb others’ abilities, when Fang Zheng actually used it, he discovered it had limitations based on the user’s species attribute. For example, Nymph’s ”Information Invasion” and ”Information Modification” were both EX-level. That meant she could invade anything including humans, plants, and stones, and even modify and recreate their attributes at will. Turning a stone into a diamond was a mere flick of the wrist for Little Angel.

However, Fang Zheng could only replicate ”Information Invasion” with a maximum limit of B-level, meaning that he could only invade electronic and information networks, and could not manipulate other people’s brains like a computer as Nymph could. Moreover, Fang Zheng couldn’t use Dimensional Points to enhance this ability, nor were there other ways to improve it; its limit was solely B-level. This revealed that such abilities also had certain restrictions based on the user’s species.

But for Fang Zheng at the moment, even being able to invade information networks was enough.

”If I can’t find the information on the civilian network, then let’s try the military network...”

Muttering to himself, Fang Zheng once again began to tap the keyboard, entering the Pentagon’s information database. Based on his experience, in these kinds of monster movies, the so-called top-secret files are usually stored at the Pentagon or the FBI, and if he searched, he would likely find clues.

As expected, Fang Zheng quickly found his target.

”The Emperor Project...”

Gazing at the data on the screen, Fang Zheng narrowed his eyes, revealing a hint of a smile.

It seemed he had found something good.
