Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 504: Chapter 503: Another Strange Space

Is this Goddess of Order really not some Evil God?

As he followed the group of small spheres through the corridor, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but think of this question again. He really couldn’t help but wonder.

Hm? You ask why?

Just take a look at the dense circular holes lining the sides of the corridor... Although Fang Zheng could tell that these devices were probably meant to house those little spheres. Perhaps the spheres simply shrank into these circular holes when they were not active.

But... seeing the dense, hundreds and thousands of black holes, even someone without trypophobia would feel it being forced upon them!

Fortunately, the journey wasn’t long, and soon, those small spheres led Fang Zheng and others to a circular metal gate at the end of the corridor. This metal gate was smooth, not showing the distorted patterns like seaweed hair Fang Zheng had seen before. Next to this gate, on the wall, there was a pattern made of gemstones and crystals of different colours.

At this point, it was time for the archeologist to make an appearance.

”This is... the divine text,”

Fina stepped forward, closely examining the pattern made from the gemstones and crystals, and then gave her answer.

”The Goddess uses these crystals to record her information, it is rumoured that only the most devout believers of the Order can read the secrets within these texts...”

”So... it’s your turn, Lady?”

When it came to devotion, Fang Zheng felt he couldn’t hold a candle to Fina. It was best to leave such matters to the professionals. Without saying much, Fina simply nodded. Soon after, Fang Zheng saw the Cleric Maiden close her eyes and start praying solemnly. Before long, a gentle radiance emanated from her body. At the same time, as if resonating with her, the crystals that were originally dim started to shine gradually.

”Nymph, did you find anything?”

Viewing the scene before him, Fang Zheng took a step back, lowering his head to quietly ask Nymph. Sensing Fang Zheng’s presence, Nymph’s fair cheeks blushed slightly, then she closed her eyes, and soon reopened them.

”It seems to be some kind of frequency exchange between energies...”

”Frequency exchange?”

”If my perception is not mistaken, it appears that this involves using a unique energy fluctuation as a password. If both energy fluctuations match and the frequencies align, it can be recognized... So far, it appears the Goddess of Order possesses quite exquisite skills in the biological energy system. The Holy Light Lady Fina uses seems to be a part of it too.”

”So, the energy they use comes from within the human body? Does everyone have it, or is it obtained through some special transformation?”

”I am not very clear about that, Master. I haven’t conducted research in this area before. To do so, I would need many samples to compare and experiment to draw a conclusion. Perhaps Miss Mirune can give you a more definite answer”

”That makes sense, I’ll consider researching this area when I get back.”

Hearing Nymph’s suggestion, Fang Zheng nodded. Previously, he hadn’t thought much about it, assuming that humans in this world, as in the Pitch Black World, or other worlds, and even the world he had once resided in, were no different. But now, hearing Nymph’s words, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but feel intrigued.

Are the people from Another World really genetically identical to Earthlings? Or is it that their bodies have been transformed enabling them to wield powers like Holy Light or Magic?

This could be a very good research topic.

With this in mind, Fang Zheng had an idea; maybe when he returned, he could extract samples from humans of the Pitch Black World, World of Shana, and Ironblood World, and compare them with those of this world to see what the situation really was. At the same time, he could also try to examine genetic differences between Fire Mist Warriors like Shana and Nanoka, the Cursed Child, and the Spellcasters and warriors of this world, perhaps finding some details he had previously overlooked.

As for the expert, Fang Zheng wasn’t worried — the Zerg represented the pinnacle of biological existence, such a level of analytical research was no problem for Mirune and her team.

At this moment, Fina’s resonance with the crystals had also come to an end. Following that, the Cleric Maiden slowly opened her eyes, but this time, her expression was somewhat complex.

”How is it? Lady Fina?”

”Ah, Mr. Fang Zheng, this...”

Looking at Fang Zheng, Fina’s gaze was somewhat elusive, and she seemed uneasy, as if she had been greatly frightened.

”What’s wrong?”

Seeing Fina’s expression, Fang Zheng also became alert on the spot.

”Is there something sealed behind here? If that’s the case, we should leave this place immediately.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng cautiously looked around, his eyes carefully monitoring the system in front of him. With Fang Zheng’s experience, usually at this time, the system would ”beep” and pop up a task or something for him. However, this time the system showed no sign of doing anything, not knowing whether it planned to let him go or meant something else.

This somewhat relieved Fang Zheng. Although he didn’t know what was inside, according to the typical plot of movies, games, and novels, things sealed in such a deserted wilderness base were definitely evil and powerful things. Fang Zheng had no interest in seeking death on his own; since there were no tasks, he planned to dust off his hands and walk away.

”Ah, no, no, there is no seal inside!”

Hearing this, Fina quickly waved her hands. Looking at Fina’s reaction, Fang Zheng was again taken aback.

”So, is it very dangerous inside?”

”No, this... it’s not exactly dangerous... ”

This time, Fina resumed her hesitant manner, but perhaps as a Cleric Maiden who wasn’t skilled in deceit, it was clear she was somewhat reluctant to speak, yet she obediently answered Fang Zheng’s question.

No seal, not dangerous, yet it seemed she was reluctant to speak?

Once he was sure there was no danger, Fang Zheng’s curiosity promptly resurfaced. He looked at the door before him and started pondering. What could be inside? Something that made Fina hesitate so much, making it difficult for her to speak. Could it be containing the secrets of the Goddess? Or perhaps there were statues of the Goddess inside? Or could it be the Goddess’s bedroom?

”Can we open it and see?”

Thinking this, Fang Zheng again put on an innocent face, looking towards Fina.

”Perhaps there are some clues of the Goddess inside?”

”This... this... well...”

Fina was visibly nervous and even a bit embarrassed, but after stuttering for some time, she finally seemed to resign herself and lowered her head.

”Alright, okay...”

As she spoke, Fina raised her scepter and gently pointed it towards the door. Accompanied by a ”rumbling” sound, the door slowly opened, revealing the hidden scenery to Fang Zheng and the others.

But...

”There’s nothing in here.”

Contrary to Fang Zheng’s expectations, the room was completely empty. Fina also seemed surprised by this, curiously glancing at the empty space inside before sighing in relief.

”What’s the use of such a place?”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng walked into the room, looking left and right, seeing no sign of any problem. No matter how he looked at it, it seemed like nothing more than a slightly larger ordinary bedroom. Of what use was such a place to merit sealing it up?

After Fang Zheng stepped in, Nymph, Javelin, and Iona also entered, and Fina poked her head in, looking inside before cautiously following them in.

But what no one expected was that as soon as Fina entered the room, accompanied by a ”beep” of a loud sound, the next moment, the metal door that had been opened suddenly closed. Following that, Fang Zheng felt a sudden darkness before his eyes, as if the ground under his feet had vanished, and he fell downwards!
