Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 523: Chapter 522: It’s the Imagination that’s Real, It’s the Filling in the Blanks that’s Logical

How to fool the humans of this world wasn’t important to Fang Zheng, what was important was that he finally fulfilled his wish—that was to endow the Zerg with EMP capabilities.

After successfully capturing Muto back to Skull Island, Fang Zheng had a discussion with Lulana, who presented him with three upgrade options.

The first option was to integrate Muto directly into the Swarm as one of the Zerg’s military species, the advantage being it could retain all of Muto’s capabilities and provide the Swarm with a completely new type of warrior.

The second option was for the Explosive Mosquitoes to absorb Muto’s abilities, then win by sheer numbers. In this way, when the Explosive Mosquitoes rushed towards the enemy to self-detonate, they could not only inflict substantial damage but also release EMP to weaken their shields or electronic abilities.

The third option was to integrate Muto’s genes into the Flying Dragons, allowing them to use EMP in battle and entangle the enemy.

However, the first option didn’t appeal to Fang Zheng; Muto’s combat power was so weak it was pitiful, and its defense wasn’t high either. With its large body size and being only able to fly within the atmosphere—not able to join in space battles like the Flying Dragon—it made Muto’s value significantly reduced, and thus unworthy to join the Swarm. So Fang Zheng quickly abandoned the first option; after all, Muto was truly... useless.

The second and third options each had their pros and cons. The omnipresence of Explosive Mosquitoes was indeed a good method, but their small size meant that integrating Muto’s genes would greatly weaken the EMP’s range and power. This might be useful against large individual targets, but would seem wasteful against small troops. Moreover, the frailty of Explosive Mosquitoes was a major issue, meaning they might get shot down before reaching the enemy, obviously a loss-making move.

Similarly, the EMP integrated with the Flying Dragons could match Muto’s reach, but their large size made them very susceptible to attacks.

In Fang Zheng’s view, of course, the ideal would be for all units of the Zerg to carry an EMP, but unfortunately, Lulana dismissed this impractical idea. Because spreading a single gene too widely might incur irremediable losses to the Swarm, something that they always strive to avoid.

Fang Zheng could certainly understand this point, so in the end, he chose the Flying Dragons as the recipients of Muto’s genes—the Explosive Mosquitoes were too fragile to intercept, and from this perspective, the upgraded Flying Dragons were clearly more suitable as carriers of EMP.

After settling this matter, Fang Zheng’s mission in this Monster World could be said to have come to a phase. In his view, the main objective had been achieved, and the rest was just an extra bonus. Of course, what Fang Zheng cared about most were the Blossom Beasts.

Fang Zheng had also seen ”Pacific Rim.” In all honesty, like most monster movies, it relied solely on special effects and exciting Mecha to attract viewers, with virtually no substance or complex setting. Fang Zheng only knew that those Blossom Beasts were cloned by an Alien Race using biotechnology, which made him very interested in that Alien Race. After all, from the sporadic fragments in the movie, this race seemed to differ from the Zerg. They preferred to win using large creatures, and their biological weapons were not meant to expand like the Zerg but to genetically modify and enhance themselves, a completely different development path from the Zerg. Therefore, Fang Zheng also decided to check out the situation there, of course... for the Swarm, this would be the start of another invasion.

For Fang Zheng, this was the beginning of a brainstorm.

You see, when he was watching those monster movies, he had been endlessly snarking at all sorts of illogical settings, such as the Mecha in Pacific Rim. It was one thing to operate bipedal Mecha; it could be put down to a man’s romance. But what do you mean by Mechas without ranged weapons? Didn’t our ancestors in the Ice Age know to use bows to shoot mammoths? How have you regressed instead?

What puzzled Fang Zheng even more was that it’s not that the Mecha wasn’t equipped with weapons, so why when facing the Blossom Beasts, you’d go into battle without using weapons but instead insist on fighting with bare hands?

Are the humans of this world morons? Have they all forgotten why our ancestors invented weapons? Do you still remember what differentiates humans from monkeys? MD, even tools are not used... can such human civilization be exterminated sooner?

You say EVA fighting Angel Envoys barehanded, well, at least they set up an AT field, and it seemed somewhat logical. But those Blossom Beasts, apart from being big, don’t have any AT fields or Magic Shields. Not to mention anything else, wouldn’t it be more reliable just to brandish a stick instead of going barehanded?

Don’t tell me your tech tree was dedicated to Mecha development and now you can’t make weapons?

Even if it’s to prevent the Blossom Beasts from releasing a large amount of toxins internally, preventing the use of thermal weapons for attack, can’t you understand what a flail, a wooden stick, a mace are? Aren’t there enough blunt weapons in human history? You skip all those weapons and opt to use fists?

You might as well have picked up a brick.

In the past, Fang Zheng could only vent his frustrations while posting on forums or in groups, snarking about the stupidity level of the scientists in this world. But now that he had entered such a world, he intended to make these people, who carried the flag of science while denying its principles, truly experience what a lack of science means!

It could also be seen as dispelling Fang Zheng’s grudge every time he watched this movie, wondering, ”Is this protagonist an idiot?” ”Is this commander an idiot?” ”Are these scientists idiots?”...

And just at that time, Fang Zheng received a message from the networks of the Emperor Organization.

They had spotted Godzilla, but unlike what Fang Zheng remembered, it wasn’t heading to the U.S. West Coast to fight another Muto to the death.

The reason was simple: it had encountered a highway robber.

Just half an hour before, a Blossom Beast had appeared on Godzilla’s path... and what’s more important... there was a Mech Hunter there too...

”This damned monster is right ahead!”

Standing in the sea, the two pilots operating the Ulyric Raider Mecha were vigilantly watching their surroundings. As controllers of the Australian Mecha Warrior, they were elite pilots with a history of slaying monsters 11 times, and the Mech Hunter they were riding was the latest Fifth-generation Mech.

However, due to the establishment of the safety wall, retired Mech Hunters were left with no choice but to head to Hong Kong, where they awaited their final fate.

But what the father and son duo hadn’t expected was that, on their way there, they actually received orders to intercept another Blossom Beast.

”This is truly a perfect curtain call.”

Gazing at the vast ocean before him, Hec revealed an excited smile.

”Kid, let’s go. We’ll take this thing to Hong Kong as a welcome gift for the others, make them green with envy!”

”Yes, Father!”

Hearing his father speak, Chuck also nodded and then, clenching their fists, they intently stared at the red dot on the radar.

”Enemy at three o’clock, watch out!”

Before his voice had faded, the water in front of them suddenly surged upward, and then a gigantic creature resembling an Old Mouse leaped out, its gaping maw lunging at them.

”Block it!”

The two shouted in unison, then raised their arms. Quickly, the Raider Mecha raised its hands towards the Blossom Beast, grabbing its neck fiercely, but even so, the Blossom Beast didn’t show any sign of giving up, as it desperately writhed trying to slip free, pushing forward with its mouth continuously snapping open and shut, trying to rend its enemy into pieces.

”Throw it out!”

At this moment, the pilots made another decision. The Raider Mecha suddenly lifted the massive Blossom Beast aloft, then threw it forcefully towards the distant sea. The creature tumbled through the air, then crashed heavily into the ocean and quickly disappeared without a trace.

”Communication’s down! It destroyed the communication device!”

”Damn it, find that bastard and kill it!”

”Where is it?”

Chuck monitored everything through the screen, but unfortunately, the radar did not display the signal of the giant beast. The violent storm also obscured their vision, but both of them knew well that the monster would not be so easily dealt with.

”Over there!”

Just then, Chuck suddenly saw a pitch-black silhouette amidst the churning waves and made a decision without hesitation. Hearing his son’s shout, the father paused briefly but then hastened to cooperate with his son, steering the Mecha to the left.

”Activate the spring knife!”

”Click!”

With the sound of machinery whirring, two spring knives shot out from the Mech Fighter’s arms, and the Raider Mecha leaped high, targeting the huge shadow in the water and stabbing down forcefully!

”Puchh!!”

The spring knives plunged deep into the back of the shadow, and then in the next instant, they felt a powerful shockwave erupt suddenly; the shadow abruptly lifted its head and sent them flying backward!

”Wait, what’s that!”

After crashing heavily into the water, the two of them realized that something was amiss; what appeared before them was not the previously encountered Blossom Beast but an enormous monster they had never seen before!

What is that...

Looking at the monster before them, both father and son were taken aback.
