Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 522: Chapter 521: Tricking Until Lame

The battle among the monsters had temporarily come to a close, but the events were far from over. As Fang Zheng had predicted, within less than five hours, his footage and camera had spread across the entire world.

Although the military tried their best to stop this information, perhaps those above them knew it was futile to intervene, or maybe they had other ideas. Thus, it wasn’t long before what happened in Hawaii had become the top news across global media.

For the general public, their main focus was naturally on the group of Flying Dragons that appeared at the end. After all, whether it was Godzilla or Muto, to the public, these were just ”monsters of various forms.” The public had seen many such creatures and, honestly, aside from experts and scholars specializing in monsters, most people couldn’t really distinguish between Godzilla, Muto, and the Blossom Beasts.

But the group of Giant Dragons that appeared last was completely different.

Although their appearance differed from the Giant Dragons in movies, TV shows, and various fairytales, people could still recognize at a glance that these creatures were ”indigenously born” on Earth. Consequently, the topic of this group of Giant Dragons immediately went viral online. Many were excitedly discussing these dragons, even becoming fascinated by them.

This was quite normal, akin to Beckham. Perhaps you don’t follow football much, or maybe you know nothing about the Premier League. But that doesn’t matter—the important thing is that when you see a familiar face in a crowd of strangers, one who has been broadcasted hundreds of times by the media every day, you would also say, ”Oh, I know him, that’s Beckham, I heard he’s good at curving the ball.”

For the public, Fang Zheng and his subordinate Flying Dragons were such ”familiar strangers.” That’s why their popularity online immediately soared.

Naturally, major TV stations didn’t miss the opportunity to capitalize on this trend. They invited scholars and historians who study folklore and mythical legends to discuss this group of abruptly appearing Giant Dragons. They analyzed from various angles whether these dragons had truly existed historically and even proposed an exciting notion: if dragons did exist, could it be possible that the old legends of Mages and Knights were also true?

Could creatures like Elves and Yokai also exist?

These were just the discussions among the general public, but in fact, elsewhere, the level of discourse surrounding Fang Zheng and the Giant Dragons was even higher.

”So... are you all certain that you heard that Giant Dragon speaking to you?”

The President sat incredulously at the round table, while the faces of other world leaders within the screen were complex.

”No, no, Mr. President, it wasn’t like that,”

James waved his hand.

”It was more like a kind of telepathy... you know, we can’t understand each other’s language, but when its voice echoed in my mind, I could understand its meaning...”

”If it weren’t for the entire Pacific Fleet’s soldiers testifying, I would definitely think it was your delusion...”

Facing James’s response, the President remained silent for a moment before finally smiling wryly. Truthfully, he really wanted to treat it as a hallucination or a collective hallucination of some sort. However, Fang Zheng had clearly considered this point; his final ”warning” was of a ”broadcast” nature—not only was the entire fleet aware of his voice, but even the people sheltering in the city heard it, and, clearly, this couldn’t be some sort of collective hallucination.

But a talking Giant Dragon? Isn’t that just a scene from a mythical story?

”Alright, let’s discuss the specifics, then. Did you manage to get any intelligence from it?”

”It’s difficult; we only know its name is Neltharion, the Earth Guardian... Besides that, we don’t have much information, although we’ve recorded everything. If we want to find out more, we probably need to have a face-to-face conversation with it.”

”But from the conversation record, it’s clear it doesn’t have much affection for our kind.”

”But neither does it bear ill will, Mr. President.”

James could understand the President’s reaction; after all, the Giant Dragon was too arrogant, but that was to be expected if it indeed had lived for thousands of years. To it, humans might truly mean very little.

However, James also understood that humans might not accept such treatment. Humans considered themselves the rulers of Earth, and while they found these Giant Dragons extremely frightening, they believed, as Earth’s true masters, that they deserved to be treated as equals.

But in fact, the Giant Dragon merely saw them as insignificant and lowly beings, like maggots or ants—hardly worthy of concern.

To be honest, that feeling certainly wasn’t pleasant. James felt the same, proud of the civilization history that humans had developed to this point. Why do humans search for life in outer space? Why do they seek traces of those legends? Among these was undoubtedly the desire to tell them ”our human civilization has also grown, and has reached a stage where we can stand on an equal footing with you.”

But this Giant Dragon seemed like a rude Master, casually knocking a child desperately seeking recognition to the ground with a slap and utterly disregarding everything he did.

Such actions would naturally infuriate humans.

”But we can still communicate, at least it didn’t treat us as snacks the moment we met,”

James also made a small joke to lighten the mood, then his expression turned serious again.

”Moreover, Mr. President, my team and I have discussed, and we believe the appearance of this Earth Guardian here is no coincidence!”

”Oh?”

Upon hearing this topic, the President suddenly perked up.

”What do you mean?”

”My assistant and I analyzed the words left by the Earth Guardian, it warned us to stay away from all this, and even mentioned ’this is not something we can touch’... Although it’s just a short sentence, I think it might explain the reason for the Earth Guardian’s appearance.”

At this point, James grew more excited.

”Mr. President, you have also seen the report, so you should know that when this Earth Guardian appeared, it brought along many Giant Dragons, and as soon as it appeared, it immediately engaged in battle with Godzilla and Muto! This indicates that its enemies are Muto and Godzilla... But, is it really just that?”

”Please get to the point, Mr. James.”

Clearly, not everyone appreciated James’s teasing way of speaking.

”This is what I am thinking, everyone is aware of the emergence of the Blossom Beasts... They have been in this world for a while, and before this, we had never seen any records similar to them. But now, they’ve emerged, and so have Muto and Godzilla... So, could we make a bold assumption that the job of this Earth Guardian is to eliminate these monsters? After all, judging by the size and strength, we humans obviously cannot match these monsters. And everything in this world has its counterforce; those Blossom Beasts, Godzilla, and Muto might just be the targets that this Giant Dragon intends to eliminate! After all, it calls itself ’Earth Guardian,’ and you all are well aware that after those Blossom Beasts were killed, their blood contaminated the earth and poisoned the entire environment... An Earth Guardian would never simply watch such actions without intervening!”

As he spoke, James excitedly waved his hands.

”We have a common goal, why can’t we cooperate? Perhaps there is a misunderstanding on the part of the Giant Dragon, but I believe, as long as we try, we can eliminate this misunderstanding! With that, we could establish contact with that Giant Dragon, and then... we could completely eliminate those monsters!”

”Hmm.......”

Hearing this, the President’s expression changed slightly indeed; the value of a Giant Dragon was immeasurable. Especially since it could communicate, as long as there was communication with humanity then...

With this thought, the President turned around and exchanged glances with the people on the screen behind him, then he nodded and looked again at James.

”Then, let the Emperor Organization undertake this plan. I hope you can find that Giant Dragon as soon as possible!”

”Yes, Mr. President!”

”...Indeed, brainstorming is invincible.”

Hearing the intelligence obtained from hacking the network, Fang Zheng felt profoundly moved. Although he had intended to bait these people when he spoke, now it seemed they were even more susceptible than he had imagined.

Was this casually using deceit, only to find the deceit walking on its own legs?

While pondering, Fang Zheng continued to think.

Should he also make them take a few steps when they had nothing else to do?
