Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 520: Chapter 519: I’m Here to Disrupt This World

The battle between the two monsters plunged the entire city into chaos. Although the soldiers desperately tried to stop them, they soon despairingly discovered that their weapons were virtually no different from toys in the face of Godzilla and Muto. Even the machine guns and Vulcan Cannons on the helicopters were unable to inflict any damage on them.

Despair, helplessness, watching the giant figures fighting in the distance, and the powerless and bewildered looks of the soldiers beside him, James sighed deeply and closed his eyes. This was exactly what the Emperor Organization had been worried about; they had no way to contend with such terrifying and gigantic creatures. Even the weapons created by humanity for self-destruction were meaningless to them.

So they had to carry out the Emperor Project, for the continuation and future of mankind.

”Report, report!!”

Just then, suddenly, a panicked voice broke the silence in the command room. A soldier, pale-faced, was staring at the radar screaming loudly.

”Multiple unidentified heat signatures detected on the radar!”

”What?”

On hearing this report, James hurriedly rushed to the screen, holding his breath as he looked at the cluster of red dots. Then, large beads of sweat dripped down from James’s forehead. Realizing something, he abruptly turned and rushed out of the command room onto the aircraft carrier’s deck. Then, James lifted his binoculars and looked toward the distant battlefield.

At the same time, within the midst of battle, Godzilla and Muto seemed also to have sensed something, simultaneously ceasing their fight and turning to look toward the distant horizon.

”What’s going on?”

Seeing the two fighting creatures suddenly stop, the soldiers were also surprised. They looked at each other, completely clueless as to what had happened. But at that moment, suddenly, an instinctive, intangible fear surged from deep within their hearts. The soldiers swallowed, trembling with trepidation, and turned their heads, then widened their eyes in astonishment.

”My God...”

The leading commander stood there dumbfounded, his gun, which had been tightly clutched, had now fallen to the ground, but he paid no heed to it, only staring wide-eyed at the distant sky.

”What’s going on? Wild Wolf Squad! What’s happening? What do you see? Report immediately! Do you hear me? Wild Wolf Squad! Answer if you hear me!!”

The command base’s inquiry came through the radio, but the squad commander in front of them offered no intention of responding; he merely stood there, mouth agape, looking up at the sky. Watching that elegant and massive figure emerging from the clouds, flapping its wings as it flew forward.

It was a giant dragon.

Fang Zheng flapped his wings, releasing an unhidden burst of Dragon Might. Behind him, dozens of Flying Dragons and the huge Kraken hovered like the soldiers of a king, accompanying him at his side. Seeing this scene, almost everyone was stunned—although many had seen massive creatures before, it was the first time they had seen such enormous creatures appearing in groups!

”Boom!!”

Having regained the form of the Time Dragon, Fang Zheng flapped his wings and landed on the hillside at the edge of the coast. He raised his head, squinting his eyes, and looked down arrogantly at Muto and Godzilla before him. Now, Fang Zheng was truly grateful for the significant increase in size he had obtained after absorbing the power of the great ape, allowing him at least to have a condescending view.

If he had remained in his former Young Dragon form... Looking up was always such a loss of face!

”—————!!”

Fang Zheng had no intention of wasting words with Godzilla and Muto, who were his prey; it seemed they also realized this as they both raised their heads and issued a dragon’s roar. Then, the Flying Dragon Horde and the Kraken soaring in the sky immediately rushed towards Muto and Godzilla!

Seeing the Flying Dragons lunging toward it, Muto evidently had no intention of fighting back and quickly turned to try and flap its wings to escape. However, Fang Zheng had anticipated this move, so as soon as Muto took flight, it was immediately entangled by the following Flying Dragons.

Since being endowed by Fang Zheng with Fire Dragon and Shadow Dragon genes, the Swarm’s Flying Dragons had lost the Skill of Tail Swing Technique. However, they gained a new power; they could breathe fire and Psionic Fireballs to attack from a distance, and they could also phase their bodies into shadows for a short time to evade physical attacks.

Of course, for Fang Zheng, these were not important. What was important was that these creatures, which had once looked like hookworms, finally looked worthy of their names.

Were they called Flying Dragons before?

Watching the battle between the Flying Dragons and Muto in the sky, Fang Zheng nodded in satisfaction. The size of the Flying Dragons was slightly smaller than that of Muto, but not by much. The dragons flew in groups through the air, sending fireballs from their mouths that struck Muto’s body. Muto tried to resist, but besides the EMP attack skill, it seemed to have no other abilities, hence it was in a sorry state with no method to respond to the Flying Dragons’ assaults.

”My God, what are we witnessing?”

”Am I dreaming?”

All those present, whether they were heavily armed soldiers, fleeing tourists, or people like James observing the battlefield from the carrier, were dazed by what they saw. In their eyes, the giant dragons danced in the sky, roaring, spewing endless flames burning the creatures before them. And those creatures, which were to them like dreaded natural predators, were so distressed in the face of these dragons.

Was all of this real?

James lowered his head, glanced around, and then reached out to grasp the railing in front of him, the cold and hard texture snapping him back to reality. For a moment, James even doubted if he had crossed into a world of myth and legend, but now it seemed that he wasn’t in a dream or transported to some strange place.

”Quick, record this information immediately! And pay attention to that largest Giant Dragon!”

James swiftly regained his focus and issued orders. Upon hearing his commands, the others also sprang into action and began to carry out their tasks. James hesitated briefly, then turned to look at the General beside him.

”I need a helicopter.”

”What are you going to do?”

Upon hearing James’s voice, the General was taken aback.

”There are monsters everywhere above. I don’t recommend you take off at this time. Let’s not even talk about the Muto, just those Giant Dragons, their fireballs alone could send you straight to the afterlife!”

”I want to talk to them!”

”Talk?”

”Yes!”

As he spoke, James extended his hand, pointing towards the massive shadow stationed atop the hillside in the distance.

”See that Chief Dragon?”

”Of course I see it. So what?”

”Have you not noticed its behavior is quite unusual... It doesn’t seem like a mere beast like Muto or Godzilla, but rather like a creature possessing some intelligence. Look, it flew over from the other side of the mountain, but it didn’t choose to land in the city. It could have easily ignored everything and completely destroyed this city. But it chose to observe the battle from the hillside... I have a hunch! It’s highly possible that it’s an intelligent being, and maybe we could communicate with it!”

As he said this, James became excited again. He had previously had a brief interaction with King Kong on Skull Island, and since then, James had not encountered another massive creature capable of communication. Neither Muto, Godzilla, nor the Blossom Beast seemed to possess any notably higher intelligence.

But that Giant Dragon was different! James was certain that he had seen traces of intelligence in its actions, and clearly, it wasn’t an ordinary Giant Dragon!!

”This...”

”This is an order! General!”

”Alright.”

Hearing this, the General just sighed and shrugged his shoulders.

”May God bless you.”

Meanwhile, Fang Zheng continued to watch the battlefield before him. Muto was unable to escape from the clamp-like grip of the Swarm, its combat strength simply too weak against the battle-oriented Swarm. Therefore, Fang Zheng quickly changed his mind, ordering the Flying Dragons to capture this creature alive if possible, after all... a live specimen held more research value.

Perhaps it could even be a new addition to the Swarm unit.

On the other hand, things with Godzilla were becoming troublesome.

Fang Zheng had to admit that there was a reason why the movie was titled ”Godzilla” and not ”Godzilla vs. MUTO.” To Fang Zheng, the Kraken was considered a very high-tier heavy unit of the Swarm, but against Godzilla, it was only able to fight to a draw. The power and speed of Godzilla were nearly on par with the Kraken, and more importantly, since Fang Zheng had designed the Kraken to specialize in aerial and naval combat, it didn’t really have much of an advantage on land.

Godzilla couldn’t fly or go into the sea, so the Kraken couldn’t utilize many of its abilities. It could now only grapple with Godzilla’s body, struggling to drag it into the sea. Godzilla, sensing the danger of the water, resisted desperately, trying to break free.

It had to be said that, for the time being, they were evenly matched.

Maybe I should deploy the Thunder Beast?

”Rumble rumble...”

As Fang Zheng pondered, a faint mechanical noise reached his ears, and he turned his head to see a helicopter approaching from not too far away.

As the helicopter appeared, a hint of amusement flashed in Fang Zheng’s eyes.

Perfect timing.
