Chapter 515: Chapter 514: Humans Never Cease to Court Disaster

Fang Zheng had initially thought that the so-called ”Emperor Project” was a super-secret similar to Area 51, but when he infiltrated it, he discovered that its level of secrecy was only slightly higher than normal... Initially, he was surprised, but as he explored the information about the ”Emperor Project,” Fang Zheng finally understood the reason behind it.

The ”Emperor Project” initially began after the end of World War II when America was conducting atomic bomb tests and discovered a mysterious colossal being that attacked the American fleet and successfully destroyed it. To eliminate this terrifying monster, America retaliated with a hydrogen bomb. After that, the monster disappeared without a trace, and the Americans believed it had been destroyed, so they didn’t pay much attention to it.

However, some people clearly didn’t think so; they launched a series of research and verification efforts surrounding this monster. Most of these were various academic organizations and experts who came together and eventually formed a so-called ”Emperor Organization.”

That is to say, this organization initially was a semi-civil, semi-official agency. To Washington, it might appear similar to a ”UFO Research Committee,” merely a scheme to siphon funds. Moreover, the core spirit of the Emperor Organization was quite distasteful to many.

The members of the Emperor Organization believed that humans were not Earth’s masters and might even have migrated from other planets. The true masters of Earth were those colossal beings hidden in darkness and underground, which would one day return to the surface and reclaim dominion over the planet. When that happened, humanity would face catastrophic destruction.

Therefore, the Emperor Organization adopted this as their ”guiding spirit” and began the ”Emperor Project,” which was primarily about excavating and researching any potential gigantic monsters hidden in the secret parts of Earth, assessing them, and attempting communication if possible. If communication was not feasible, and the beings were hostile toward humans, then they should be destroyed.

After World War II, the Emperor Project was put on hold and even the government reduced their funding. It wasn’t until the end of the 20th century when a significant event occurred, changing the fate of the Emperor Project from being discarded into the wastebasket.

That event was Godzilla’s re-emergence and subsequent attacks by the Blossom Beast from the wormholes.

Because of this, the Emperor Project was re-identified as a necessary contingency plan for humanity when facing large monsters and was revived.

However, in the process of infiltrating, Fang Zheng discovered that this organization was indeed not just a name. In the Emperor Project, the organization had found traces of giant monsters all over the world and even discovered an island called ”Skull Island,” where they found a giant black ape as tall as a skyscraper and a peculiar skeleton monster.

In fact, up until now, the organization is still tirelessly exploring for ancient monsters hidden in the dark shadows of Earth...

”Indeed, humanity in the sci-fi world never learns.”

After reading the records about the Emperor Project, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but comment. This was also a common trope in many sci-fi disaster films, where typically a scientist revives something dormant or discovers some terrifying relic. In any case, it was more or less the same old story.

But for Fang Zheng, this organization was quite useful as they were monitoring all the giant monsters on Earth. By accessing the reports from the Emperor Organization, Fang Zheng could easily obtain the coordinates and locations of those colossal beings, then use them to feed the Zerg.

However, whether this intelligence was accurate remained to be seen, so Fang Zheng decided to test it out with one first...

He chose Skull Island!

If the records of the Emperor Project were correct, there should be a giant ape named King Kong on Skull Island, along with many monstrously large creatures. Perhaps Fang Zheng could find something useful from these creatures. Even if not, they could serve as practice for his troops. Given that Godzilla and those Blossom Beasts were not showing up for now, it was a perfect timing for him to visit Skull Island.

According to the description in the Emperor Project, the island was perennially surrounded by hurricanes, making it impossible for airplanes to approach, which was advantageous. If possible, Fang Zheng planned to take over the place and set up a Zerg Base... After all, the world was already filled with monsters; they wouldn’t mind another wave of Zerg.

Of course, even if they did mind, there wasn’t much they could do about it.

After making his decision, Fang Zheng immediately took a flight to Southeast Asia where Skull Island was located. He then found a secluded spot, transformed into the Time Dragon, and added an Invisibility Technique to himself—Fang Zheng was being cautious, especially since he knew that due to the rampages of monsters, humans monitored these areas with satellites round the clock. Fortunately, since the main threat to humans at the moment wasn’t Godzilla but the Blossom Beast, most satellite monitoring was focused on the Pacific Ocean; he just had to be a bit careful and should avoid being detected.

Besides, even if he was detected, what could they do? With the civilization level of this world, they couldn’t do anything to him.

As for nuclear bombs... heh, if these humans dared to throw a nuclear bomb at him, Fang Zheng wouldn’t mind letting them experience what true destruction and death were.

Wings of Death is a BOSS after all!

Finding Skull Island wasn’t a difficult task, as the lack of human habitation was due to the storms surrounding it, not because it was hard to find. Not to mention, the detailed characteristics of Skull Island were recorded in the Emperor Project, so Fang Zheng didn’t have much trouble locating the island wrapped in hurricanes and lightning.

”That’s Skull Island...”

Glancing at the distant shadows, Fang Zheng hummed softly, then flapped his wings and rushed towards the island before him.

The howling wind mixed with rain pelted him head-on, and lightning bolts emerged from the clouds like swords, striking beside Fang Zheng. However, for Fang Zheng, who had transformed into a Time Dragon, these annoyances were nothing. He flapped his wings, swiftly passing through the gloomy clouds, and then...

”Wow.”

Looking at the scene before him, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but exclaim.

Emerging from the thick clouds, the first sight was a lush green, towering stone mountains and islands shimmering within the rippling blue ocean, appearing so bright and dazzling. Brilliant sunlight fell from the sky, illuminating the island. This was completely different from the pitch-black, almost apocalyptic scenery from before. The place felt like a serene and elegant paradise, where flocks of birds could be seen flying together...

”Boom!!”

Fang Zheng landed on the top of one of the stone mountains, looked around, and nodded in satisfaction. This place looked very good, both geographically and environmentally, suitable for the Swarm to breed. Moreover, it could also serve as a hideout for the Zerg Base. But now that brought him back to the giant gorilla known as ”King Kong” mentioned in the Emperor Project report. Could it be that after all these years, that gorilla had died?

”Huff———!!”

Just as Fang Zheng was puzzled, suddenly the sound of wind arose and then he saw a large tree flying out of the distant forest like an arrow, shooting toward him!

What is this?

Looking at the approaching large tree, Fang Zheng was startled. Without any movements, he watched a shimmer of Magic radiance flash by, and then the tree was blocked by the Magic Barrier outside his body, sliding past his wings.

”Ooooh!!”

Just then, Fang Zheng saw a gigantic black gorilla rise up from the forest with a roar. It was about sixty to seventy meters tall, muscular and burly. He could even see some faint old scars on its body. The giant gorilla stared at Fang Zheng fiercely, opened its mouth, and let out a roar and growl. Then, it raised its hands and began pounding its chest powerfully!

Hey, you a gorilla dare be so presumptuous in front of me, not even considering Time Dragon as a part of the Dragon Race?!

”—————!!”

In that moment, Fang Zheng also raised his head and roared at King Kong, quickly switching the Soulstone inside his body.

”Crack.”

In that moment, the stars shone brightly.

”Come on, gorilla! Let you taste the power of the Time Dragon!”
