System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

At the vascular suturing competition, Tong Yuan’an and Associate Professor Xie Ziyuan are both part of the judging panel.

Xie Ziyuan, with a well-proportioned figure and delicate features, raised his eyebrows in surprise for a moment after listening to a doctoral report, and then stepped towards Tong Yuan’an: ”Brother Tong, Xiao Li said Lu Cheng’s name topped the list again.”

”This time the score is even more remarkable, apparently exceeding by 100 points.”

Tong Yuan’an is an associate professor in the hand surgery department at Xiangya Hospital, having aged out of the competition, and is one of the hosts at the event. Xie Ziyuan is one of the two recommended participants from Xiangya Hospital’s hand surgery department, earning a spot in the national competition without having to compete.

When the competition is ongoing, judges must refrain from gossiping, but during the break between rounds after the competition ends, judges are free to engage in gossip.

Tong Yuan’an sat straight, crossed his legs, and nodded lightly: ”Hmm.”

Xie Ziyuan’s delicate face appeared somewhat distorted, looking youthful: ”Brother Tong, you figured it out?”

”Do you know which arena Xiao Lu topped the list in this time?”

Tong Yuan’an raised his head, his chubby face both stern and amiable, his tone ancient and pompous: ”I do know. He probably went over to the general surgery department to foolishly meddle.”

Only then did Xie Ziyuan confirm that Tong Yuan’an knew everything, his smile somewhat sheepish: ”Why didn’t you say so sooner, Brother Tong?”

”Why should I say it sooner?”

Tong Yuan’an retorted Xie Ziyuan: ”I’ve been puzzled for a long time, why can’t I let you be puzzled for even longer?”

”For the sake of fairness, everyone should start on the same starting line, running the same distance.”

Moreover, I actually hinted to you all.”

Xie Ziyuan’s lips quivered slightly, his composed features twitching a bit.

Xie Ziyuan is also an associate professor at Xiangya Hospital, though his position is a bit awkward.

Tong Yuan’an is older than him, more skilled than him, and Han Yunshen is younger than him, yet still more skilled.

”Brother Tong, it sounds rather unbelievable. Xiao Lu? Did he really?” Xie Ziyuan’s tone was astonished.

Xie Ziyuan knew that Lu Cheng independently pioneered the tendon suturing technique and was aware of its superiority, capable of delivering a dimensional blow.

Thus, Lu Cheng standing at the top in the tendon suturing track was no surprise.

This type of competition measures the original capabilities of each hospital; if you can’t bring something new, no matter how well you practice the technique, you’re relegated to a top-tier follower.

Because general, public knowledge, everyone can learn.

Only originality, effective originality, can deliver a dimensional blow and stand out, though achieving this effect is very difficult.

Xiangya Hospital’s tendon suturing holds an advantage, as Professor Tan and Tong Yuan’an collaborated on developing the tong suturing method, slightly superior to the Modified Tang Method, so at the same level, using the tong method yields better data than the Modified Tang Method.

The competition is not based on clinical practice; it doesn’t require clinical safety, only the testing data on the field.

If effective, through various trials, it can become a surgical technique, but if clinical safety is ineffective, then it’s like a wave, crashing without a trace...

Xie Ziyuan couldn’t imagine Lu Cheng could still come up with something in substantial organ suturing.

”Does Director Tan know about this?” Xie Ziyuan reacted quickly, continued to ask.

”Knowing or not knowing is no longer important. When I first recommended it to Director Tan and my mentor, they didn’t respond particularly well.”

”Lu Cheng has already moved on from our hospital!~”

”Sharing hardships, you’re too idle. You don’t deserve riches and honors. Knowing makes no difference, it’s utterly useless!~” Tong Yuan’an replied directly.

Xie Ziyuan remained silent for a while.

Tong Yuan’an reported Lu Cheng’s affairs to two big bosses, one being Professor Tan Zhongyuan, the other being old Professor Zhou Yuhui.

But the feedback from both senior professors was quite limited.

In contrast, Professor Zhong at Union Hospital provided a good ”commitment” even before Lu Cheng rose.

”117 points, this score is enough to go down in history!~ For decades, no one will be able to break it unless there is a special circumstance.” Xie Ziyuan spoke confidently after seeing the large screen image sent by the department students.

Different from the scoring at the tendon suturing competition, Lu Cheng scored beyond full marks in the substantial organ suturing track.

This is related to the competition system, proving that Lu Cheng’s suturing technique surpassed the expected full score within their specialty field.

”217 points also make no difference, Xie Ziyuan, Lu Cheng now belongs to Union Hospital. His girlfriend was assigned by Professor Zhong from Union Hospital’s hand surgery department to work on a project with him.”

”His girlfriend is from the gastroenterology laboratory, to be transferred over such a large distance, how much effort was expended??” Tong Yuan’an used objective evidence to substantiate this point.

Previously, Tong Yuan’an didn’t use the saying ’the setting sun’ because Lu Cheng never rose; he was always in a low state.

Yet even at this time, before anything happened, Union Hospital showed an appreciation for talent.

What Tong Yuan’an knew more clearly was that when he first arrived at Long County People’s Hospital, he received a call from Professor Xie Xiao at Union Hospital.

No matter who instructed Professor Xie Xiao to make the call, Tong Yuan’an felt that now, Lu Cheng was beyond Xiangya Hospital’s reach.

If the call was brokered by Lu Cheng’s girlfriend, others are affectionate, and Tong Yuan’an doesn’t want to be a wicked person breaking up couples.
