System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”I won’t lose my sense of proportion.”

In the county hospital, not teaching is the norm; everyone minds their own business, that’s the atmosphere.

If you, as an individual, naively try to disrupt this norm and atmosphere, you’re the one stirring up trouble.

Lu Cheng doesn’t have such sentiments. He endured it this way himself, and he won’t break this blockade by doing something out of the ordinary.

Of course, Du Qiang wouldn’t say that Lu Cheng was teaching him surgery.

These kinds of things are only known by the emergency department staff, and no one broadcasts it widely.

So Zhang Tiesheng chatted with Lu Cheng for a while longer; without patients coming in, they chatted about all sorts of things...

Of course, it was mainly Zhang Tiesheng talking, and Lu Cheng listening.

The topics Zhang Tiesheng talked about left Lu Cheng with no chance to interject. He was schooling Lu Cheng about whether ”butterflies, steamed buns, or abalone” look better or feel better—things Lu Cheng had never encountered.

...

At ten past nine.

Lu Cheng and Zhang Tiesheng had just switched topics to which nurse in the department was more attractive. Zhang Tiesheng stated that it was Tian Duoduo, with a fiery figure.

As he called for Lu Cheng’s opinion, the door of the emergency consultation room was knocked.

Then Du Qiang walked in from outside: ”I was wondering why I couldn’t find Dr. Lu in the office, turns out you were relaxing here.”

Zhang Tiesheng and Lu Cheng both stood up and called out in greeting, ”Director Du.”

Du Qiang glanced at Zhang Tiesheng and then said, ”Dr. Lu, thank you very much for today. My cousin said that in some time, he must have a drink with you.”

”Otherwise, the child would be in a pitiful state.”

Lu Cheng didn’t know who the patient was, whether it was a child.

”Director Du, no need to be so courteous, it’s my duty,” Lu Cheng quickly replied.

”There’s no duty when it comes to saving lives.”

”A life-saving grace is a big deal. Dr. Lu, you should give people a chance to express gratitude.”

”Do you want to have some late-night snacks?” Du Qiang asked.

Zhang Tiesheng quickly smiled and said, ”Director Du, no need, no need, you’re being too polite. Xiao Lu and I have already eaten.”

Although Zhang Tiesheng didn’t have a good impression of Du Qiang, he wouldn’t offend people either.

”Well, you two worked hard then, I’ll head back first.”

”Thank you, Dr. Lu.”

”Speaking of this patient, he’s also my nephew.” Wang Qiang slightly clasped his hands, turned around, and left.

Just as Zhang Tiesheng sat down, his good friend Zhou Bingxuan sent a voice message.

Zhang Tiesheng’s phone was on speaker, and Zhou Bingxuan’s voice was almost explosive: ”Zhang Tiesheng, that Lu Cheng in your department is amazing.”

”With a ruptured renal artery aneurysm, he blindly stopped the bleeding.”

”Did you know Dr. Lu had such skills?”

Zhang Tiesheng didn’t know.

So he looked up.

Zhang Tiesheng only knew that Lu Cheng could preserve the spleen, gallbladder, and replant severed limbs. What is life-saving from a ruptured renal artery aneurysm?

Isn’t Lu Cheng someone close to him?

How did the brothers in urology know about this before me?

Zhang Tiesheng didn’t respond but put down his phone, crossed his arms: ”Bro, are you not considering me a friend?”

”Keeping everything from your brother?”

Lu Cheng was already used to this, and he sighed deeply: ”Bro, it’s just that I’m too insignificant to catch your eye.”

”I did explain to you on the day Director Du scolded me about the surgery, what more do you want me to say?”

”Of course, mainly because your aura is too strong, we little people are too inconspicuous.”

”My mistake, I’ll strive to catch up with Brother Zhang’s footsteps.”

Speaking to people accordingly, Zhang Tiesheng spoke like this, and Lu Cheng could respond in kind.

Zhang Tiesheng saw his tactics wouldn’t hold, so he quickly adjusted his expression and tone: ”Just joking, Lu Cheng.”

”Tell me in detail, what’s going on here?”

”You seem to have something extraordinary here...”

Lu Cheng said, ”It’s just the Hemostasis Technique. When there’s bleeding, stop it.”

After speaking, Lu Cheng considered that Zhang Tiesheng had just talked about another kind of pressure hemostasis and quickly emphasized: ”It’s not that alternative pressure dilating hemostasis and steady movement pain relief you just mentioned.”

”I’m talking about the proper Hemostasis Technique.”
