System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Lu Cheng doesn’t hold himself up as some high and mighty figure, nor does he blatantly label himself as a scoundrel.

If someone dies in Long County People’s Hospital, there’s probably going to be a medical dispute.

Medical staff don’t have any exceptional leeway. Although the hospital might back you up, once you cross a line, the medi department isn’t going to protect you.

The medical level is limited, and lack of ability means people dying is quite normal and expected.

But if you rashly perform surgeries that shouldn’t be done and the patient dies, both the patients and the administrators will ask you, why did you do that? Who allowed you to do that?

Are you that amazing?

Just follow the guidelines, complete the conventional procedures, and you’re done!~

...

After Lu Cheng left, Zhang Tiesheng propped his chin with one hand, deep in thought.

”This Lu Cheng? He used to take risks for surgeries, but now he’s become so cautious?”

”Which version of him is the true one?” Zhang Tiesheng could understand Lu Cheng’s expression.

He’s just a bit confused about what label to stick on Lu Cheng, since initially, in Zhang Tiesheng’s view, Lu Cheng was just a reckless guy.

But soon, Zhang Tiesheng recalled later developments and silently took back the ’reckless’ label in his mind.

He wrote the words ’No cure for the disbeliever’ with his pen on a scrap of paper.

Zhang Tiesheng could understand Lu Cheng’s choice. He didn’t want to argue and dispute with the non-professional families and patients, but if there were colleagues from his hospital, people to back him up, it would be different.

Lu Cheng might lose the argument and his future, but if you stab Lu Cheng in the back, it won’t be easy for you to mix in at the unit either.

The more Lu Cheng has saved people, the harder it is for anyone to backstab him.

No one can guarantee that their relatives and friends won’t be where Lu Cheng needs to intervene.

Those techniques might not show up in surgical records, but they can be included in the operations as the understandable ’Hemostasis Technique’.

No need to be novel, as long as the patient survives, that’s the essence.

...

Lu Cheng settled his earnings.

He spent 20 skill points on enhancing his CT Film Reading Skill. The emergency hemostasis immediately earned him 8.2 skill points.

A loss but not a huge one, since his CT Film Reading Skill is genuinely improved.

All in all, today was a high-earning day with 11.4 skill points gained during this surgery shift.

[Current skill point balance: 96.1 points.]

”Better save up, these are my secret weapons and trump cards for professional matches,” Lu Cheng murmured while heading into the doctor’s lounge.

After taking off his white coat, he lifted the quilt edge and lay down.

”Have you decided? Do you want to go to Sha City together? I heard the crayfish there are pretty good,” Lu Cheng said.

Mu Nanshu: ”Though I’m younger than you, don’t try to fool me. It’s already October, way past the crayfish season.”

”Crabs are the main feature of this season.”

Lu Cheng asked straightforwardly, ”Do you have other plans? If you do, just say so.”

Lu Cheng couldn’t figure out why Mu Nanshu hadn’t agreed to go to Sha City with him.

Mu Nanshu hesitated for a while before sending Lu Cheng a screenshot of a chat.

It was from Xie Yuan’an.

Xie Yuan’an, a hand surgery specialist at Union Hospital, is a clinician actively practicing her clinical skills, someone highly skilled in her field.

Therefore, she had been subtly probing Mu Nanshu to see if he needed help with his project.

Additionally, Xie Yuan’an had another request: if Mu Nanshu could, could he return to Han City for a while to help her sort out a paper she submitted earlier?

Her paper had been ”lettered” by other researchers.

The so-called ”letter” means being reported by peers to the editorial department, demanding a very detailed clarification now.

To Lu Cheng, Xie Yuan’an initially seemed like a bystander only, but she did bring him some good luck.

Had it not been for attending the advanced training course at Union Hospital, Lu Cheng might not have had the chance to develop the Tendon Suturing Technique on his own.

”Since Teacher Xie is in trouble, if you can help, do lend a hand. After all, you’re from the same unit,” Lu Cheng suggested.

Mu Nanshu: ”???”

”You’re quite generous, I was still hesitating, and you just made the decision for me.”

Lu Cheng said, ”Mostly because I asked Professor Tong the other day, and he mentioned that the next few days were packed with matches.”

”On one of those days, Professor Tong would introduce me to some people.”

Mu Nanshu: ”You should’ve said so earlier, I was really struggling with it.”

”I’ll head back to Han City first then. Meanwhile, you go build your connections with Teacher Tong, okay...”

Mu Nanshu values and cherishes the time they could spend together.

”Okay.” After agreeing, Lu Cheng added, ”Now it’s my turn for sit-ups...and to respond to Professor Tong about meeting some important figures.”

Mu Nanshu quickly replied, ”You outright refused ???”

Lu Cheng explained, ”I never intended to enter the Xiangya Hospital circle, so it’s best not to get too entangled and stir up unnecessary issues.”

”I feel like such a pretender, never having been interested in this, yet always finding excuses.”

”It’s mainly to avoid offending Professor Tong and Professor Chen, fearing they might not teach me anything anymore.”
