System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”There’s no need to go through provincial projects; just focusing on the school’s projects is enough. Educational projects are the most compelling evidence for teaching titles...” Mu Nanshu said.

Tong Yuan’an’s expression changed drastically: ”Are you thinking about turning the study of this suturing technique into a project as well?”

”Why?”

Mu Nanshu replied pointedly, ”Techniques can become obsolete, but the essence of teaching never will.”

”I think that currently, research in this area within our country is nearly non-existent; it’s mostly about superficially learning some overseas flipped classroom methods.”

”Moreover, I have limited abilities and qualifications, so when learning professional skills, I’ve encountered many obstacles, which led me to deeply ponder how exactly to better learn this stuff.”

”Of course, I haven’t found the answer yet... It’s just that we’re already doing such projects, so we might as well include the educational projects.”

”A project based on learning the tendon suturing technique, because our project’s technique is newly developed, has no other team to compete in this regard.”

”It’s a project with absolute competitiveness that must be secured.”

”We won’t worry about having too much project funding, right...”

After Mu Nanshu finished speaking, she continued, ”The learning programs I previously attended were mostly based on specialized training sessions, but whether the teaching effectiveness of these sessions is good or not remains debatable...”

”Currently, the training programs held domestically are generally short-term and focus more on observation than practice.”

”Is it possible that by reversing this approach, we would achieve better results?”

Tong Yuan’an replied, ”How do we practice? Using patients?”

Mu Nanshu: ”Use animals. Establish standard animal experimental models.”

”This provides a more clinical feel than using dead material like pig’s feet.”

Tong Yuan’an fell into silence again.

Discussing it back and forth, Mu Nanshu had already been scheming in her mind for a long time.

Clinical projects need to be done, but standard animal experiment models must also be established.

Mu Nanshu had developed her systematic understanding of scientific research.

This should be something all researchers must consider, but in reality, many research teams worldwide skip this step.

It’s not that they don’t want to do it, but because it’s troublesome and fraught with difficulties, extending the already long research cycle immeasurably...

That small girl, Mu Nanshu, sure has grand ambitions.

Tong Yuan’an glanced at Lu Cheng. Lu Cheng was still the same Lu Cheng, but what he might become with Mu Nanshu was difficult for Tong Yuan’an to predict.

How did he end up with a girlfriend like this?

…

Integrity Plaza, the pathway around the neighborhood.

Lu Cheng asked, ”Wasn’t your attitude towards Professor Tong today too harsh? Won’t that make him think differently?”

Mu Nanshu, hands behind her back, said confidently, ”How could it?”

”As long as Professor Tong wants to pursue a higher teaching path, as long as he has this inclination, he will definitely be interested.”

”If he really doesn’t want to, then we’ll just explore on our own.”

”The primary task in the coming period is to find a way to bring over that Dr. Zhang.”

Hearing this, Lu Cheng nodded slowly, ”According to what you said, our team indeed needs a more professional animal model research person.”

”Such talents are hard to find; anyone with some skill is usually booked by major teams.”

Mu Nanshu sighed, ”Our team lacks competitiveness, so we can only find those overlooked.”

Lu Cheng glanced at Mu Nanshu, ”Is it much easier to find such talents abroad?”

”It’s not easy either. However, once found, they are highly paid and sought after by medical device companies, with salaries that clinical doctors can’t compare to,” Mu Nanshu shook her head.

”Of course, I can’t take that path. This type of talent needs to have extraordinary surgical aptitude to construct a standard animal model.”

”Some can even replicate certain clinical conditions directly on animals, allowing clinical doctors to practice ruthlessly and boldly, to master and refine their skills before returning to the clinic, where they can make an impact.”

”You know, the number of surgeries is a fundamental asset for surgeons; the skill level from ten thousand surgeries compared to a thousand can be overwhelming.”

”Actually, I think the key to bringing Dr. Zhang to us might lie with my junior sister.”

”But she’s gone to Zhengda First Affiliated Hospital, gives me a headache.” Mu Nanshu rubbed her temples.

Lu Cheng comforted, ”If it gives you a headache, don’t think about it for now. Take it slow. According to you, such projects can have a timeline of three to five years.”

”This has just begun.”

Mu Nanshu said, ”We weren’t in a rush initially, but you need this stepping stone now, so we should ideally secure the provincial project before the year-end.”

”There’s not much time left… Preparing the proposal is no easy task...”

”You’ll be busy in the coming days.”

”Didn’t you tell me the other day that too many participants registered for this Microsurgery Skills Competition, and the organizers couldn’t accommodate them all, so they changed the rules?”

”Except for staff from top teaching hospitals who can compete directly, everyone else needs to be recommended by the province to participate.”

”Otherwise, just the teams from local hospitals across the country could overwhelm the organizers in Shan Province.”
