System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”You call her a young girl?” Chen Song exclaimed in surprise.

Tong Yuan’an found Chen Song quite strange: ”If she’s not a young girl, then what is she?”

Chen Song had originally thought the same, so he was bewildered: ”That’s true, looking at her age and experience, she is indeed just a young girl.”

”Shall we have a couple of beers today? Let’s skip the white stuff.”

Chen Song arrived first, the dishes were already ordered, but he hadn’t brought any drinks or alcohol, clearly not planning on having any spirits.

”Stop speaking cryptically, playing hide and seek,” Tong Yuan’an said.

Chen Song then said: ”I initially shared your thoughts too. Lu Cheng’s girlfriend, isn’t she just a naive young girl?”

”Yes, she has a good education, an impressive resume, just a young lady who recently started working.”

”But I’ve been dealing with her with this mindset lately, and almost got trapped, now I’m being cornered.”

Tong Yuan’an asked: ”What did you do?”

”Ah, it’s just a matter of competing for the institution, you know. Collaboration is collaboration, vying for the primary unit doesn’t affect Xiao Lu.”

Chen Song stated frankly: ”Xiao Lu is not someone from Union Hospital, so obviously he doesn’t need to take care of Union Hospital’s affairs.”

”But?”

Chen Song felt he hadn’t laid the groundwork enough, so he brought up the topic again: ”Have you heard about the manuscript retraction incident at Huashan Hospital?”

Tong Yuan’an’s plump face trembled: ”Seems like I have, but not as many as our two hospitals, what’s up?”

”Why bring this up?”

Although Tong Yuan’an was from Xiangya Hospital, in recent years, he had no means regarding colleagues scoring high marks in the hospital either.

He was just an employee, not a leader. So he acknowledged it in front of Chen Song.

After all, the scores at the Second Hospital were even higher, and it happened in the emergency department.

Mr. Liu is known worldwide, and the little matters of Xiangya Hospital are nothing compared to those in front of Mr. Liu at the Second Hospital.

”Not many, proving strict quality control, others’ research is more disciplined. But even in such a great environment, there can be incidents of manuscript retraction.”

Chen Song coughed slightly, gritting his teeth: ”Can we admire the skill?”

”No wonder she’s a young girl from Xiangxi.” Chen Song raised a thumb in the air.

Tong Yuan’an’s bushy beard spread out, and he coughed: ”What’s your point?”

”It’s not that, nor do I have direct evidence. But you can’t overlook how the young girl initially extracted information from a whole department while overseas...”

”That’s not important, if there aren’t issues, you can’t find them.”

Tong Yuan’an slapped the table: ”Explain clearly.”

Chen Song nodded: ”Okay, okay, I’ll make it clear to you.”

”Let’s put it this way, at the beginning, wasn’t Lu Cheng the top in the initial exam at Huashan Hospital, right?”

”Among the classmates who went in with him, one was carrying a paper related to gynecology, while the other one had a paper from Shanda University. Of course, the other person was originally from Shandong University Qilu, their abilities were very good.”

Tong Yuan’an carefully turned around, blinking: ”So, one of them was a distinguished child from gynecology?”

”That’s pretty much the idea, but his paper was fine, whereas his teacher’s paper got picked by the young girl.”

”Though the results are still pending, they should be coming soon.”

”Of course, this isn’t the main reason for Xiao Mu’s extension.”

”She originally didn’t have time for these matters, she initially aimed for a clinical doctorate but inadvertently injured her hand, so she had to switch to a PhD, as we call it an academic doctorate.”

”It just freed up her hand, roughly since 2018 she started doing these things...”

”And to be more cautious, when she produced her own research results, she paid meticulous attention to every detail, that’s why there’s an extension.”

”So, in the past few days, the young girl said, Lu Cheng’s project and paper cannot be published with any doubts.”

”The primary publication unit definitely can’t be Xiangya Second Hospital.”

Chen Song furrowed his brows tightly: ”It’s hard to say if Xiao Mu said these things worried about herself or if she’s trying to grab things for Union Hospital.”

The project belongs to Lu Cheng, he can’t escape being a corresponding author, or being the first author is also inevitable.

However, the issue of the communication unit can be discussed.

The communication unit for a paper is something many hospitals strive for. If you are an employee of the hospital and don’t list your own hospital as the communication unit, they wouldn’t reimburse the publication fee, let alone various awards.

Scientific papers are the most important indicator to demonstrate if a hospital is a research-oriented hospital, with nothing being more international than the number of projects the hospital has applied for.

”So, why are you being cornered? What’s the matter?” Tong Yuan’an asked Chen Song.

Chen Song’s old face instantly turned red, unsure of how to speak for a moment.

Tong Yuan’an rolled his eyes: ”Fine, just keep being cornered. The conversation has come this far, and now you’re tongue-tied.”

Chen Song murmured: ”Xiao Mu viewed my paper and suggested I secretly contact our school and publishing unit to quietly do internal revisions.”

”One of the papers is my master’s thesis.”

”Oh my god, Chen Song, what makes me worthy? I’m just an ordinary associate professor, why is my master’s thesis still being scrutinized?”

”Tong Yuan’an, my master’s thesis is something from thirteen years ago. I can’t even find any issues myself.”

”The current issue is, if Xiao Mu has any bad intentions, I wouldn’t say my degree will be revoked, but it will definitely be an endless hassle!~”
