Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Who exactly wanted to maintain this status? Initially, Yang Yu had no clue.

But now...

After encountering the Enchanting Demon and this Golden Ape...

Who was it, and why did they do it? Yang Yu had some idea.

That mysterious Task was likely an eradication mission.

However, if everything was as Yang Yu suspected, there would be a small flaw in it all.

Before completely confirming, Yang Yu decided to remain cautious.

To completely trust what that Enchanting Demon said would be truly foolish.

Maybe, her words were mostly just a smokescreen.

What was certain was that the mastermind behind this war did not permit anyone who could break the stalemate to emerge.

In this way, as long as there were fame and fortune to be had, the mastermind would surely send his subordinates again to eliminate the potentials.

It was only through this method that Yang Yu could lure out the mastermind responsible for poisoning the Wanzhang Lion.

Initially, when Yang Yu proposed to Dongmu to enter the Underground Maze for a trial, he was deliberately creating an opportunity for others.

As for whether his own movements were being watched, Yang Yu felt that the mastermind was definitely observing him from somewhere.

However, due to the mastermind’s own identity, he couldn’t possibly step out from the shadows, come to the forefront, nor dare to exert more influence on this war.

The surveillance method used by the mastermind was likely very covert and ambiguous.

But, one must absolutely not hold any hope for luck.

Believing that everything was observed by him could lead to a better counter-strategy.

Stepping into the forest and seeing the deceased, Yang Yu briefly ”led the enemies by the nose.”

Half-truths have always been the hardest to discern.

The ”foolishness” of diving deep into enemy territory, thinking one could handle all enemies due to minor achievements; and the ”wisdom” pointed out from the conversations...

Now, in the eyes of my enemies, what exactly do I look like?

Moving rapidly on the ground, the Sword Blade sliced through the earth, and Yang Yu quickly approached Chuyuan.

Chuyuan immediately drew his Bows and arrows, firing eleven arrows at Yang Yu in quick succession.

Yang Yu simply dodged Chuyuan’s arrows by moving, and the sword plunged into the ground released a burst of Magic Power; countless thorns instantly burst from the earth, attacking Chuyuan from all directions.

The move Chuyuan just used was not a Skill.

To launch again with poison-filled Monkey hair, generally speaking, required reload.

But, since it was not fully launched just now, the remaining strands of Monkey hair filled with poison were another matter.

The previous Monkey hair attack was held back by Chuyuan; he still had dozens of strands embedded with poison.

According to the information obtained from the Bat, Yang Yu also possessed skills that could block long-range attacks; if these were not depleted, firing the Poison Stinger might have been a complete waste.

Chuyuan hadn’t expected that Yang Yu would hold onto that Skill so tightly.

Letting the Magic-formed Bows and arrows disappear, Chuyuan revealed his huge palm and slapped all the approaching thorns into the ground.

Several cracks rapidly extended outward from where Chuyuan’s palm had landed.

The skill Chuyuan used was an unenhanced ”Earth Split,” which dealt damage and also slowed the enemy down.

Yang Yu suddenly stopped his steps, retraced a few steps backward, stopped at the edge of the ”Earth Split,” easily avoiding the slowing effect, and then charged forward again.

Chuyuan knew Yang Yu was difficult to deal with, but he hadn’t expected him to be this troublesome.

Spreading his hands, Chuyuan released all the remaining Poison Stingers.

Yang Yu raised his shield, and an Illusion Shield extended from his shield to block the incoming Poison Stingers.

Yang Yu, taking advantage of the momentum, also executed ”Red Blood Path,” propelling himself forward like a bullet.

Chuyuan clapped his hands together, and a thick earthen wall emerged from the ground.

However, this earthen wall could not stop Yang Yu’s ”Red Blood Path.”

Although ”Red Blood Path” mentioned that it would stop upon hitting terrain, thin terrain wouldn’t suffice.

To put it in perspective, it was like a paper wall trying to stop a toddler’s carriage.

The earthen wall crumbled instantly, and Chuyuan took advantage of the moment Yang Yu broke through the wall to leap backward, avoiding Yang Yu’s attack.

But before he could catch his breath, Bai Jin and Iyas’s attacks followed one after another.

Cleverly using tree trunks to dodge the attacks of Bai Jin and Iyas, Chuyuan proactively triggered several traps, and four tender thorns whipped towards Yang Yu.

Yang Yu swung his Sword Blade, cutting off one while letting the other three fall behind him.

Yang Yu’s movements didn’t stop, activating ”Climbing,” he moved vertically up the tree trunk, his Sword Blade gleaming with an orange light.

Chuyuan pushed off a tree branch, swinging to another tree.

Yang Yu leaped up, ”Double-sided Slash” striking right below Chuyuan’s collarbone.

In an instant, a slit appeared on Chuyuan’s camouflage clothes, and blood sprayed out, staining his golden fur red.

However, Chuyuan didn’t get angry but smiled instead, as Yang Yu’s charge gave him an opportunity.

Now in midair, Yang Yu was unable to change his direction, while Chuyuan had an absolute advantage in size.

Wrapping his left arm around Yang Yu, Chuyuan’s right hand’s index and middle fingers oozed poison and aimed for Yang Yu’s temple.

The Sword Blade suddenly disappeared, and Yang Yu pulled out a long bamboo pole, pressing it against Chuyuan’s chest and pushing forward forcefully. Using the reaction force produced by the bamboo, Yang Yu was flung far away, escaping the crisis.

During this experimental attack, Chuyuan was hit by several of Iyas’s attacks and some of Bai Jin’s magic, covered in injuries.

Yet, he clenched his teeth, focusing on the pain from his lower lip to divert attention from other pains.

Yang Yu actively created some distance, while Chuyuan quickly found the opportunity to climb a large tree, dragging his blood-stained body, moving through the tree canopy towards the deeper parts of the jungle.

Bai Jin and Iyas tried attacking him, but he dodged each one.

Yang Yu, watching the direction in which the Golden Ape disappeared, didn’t immediately pursue but took out a pair of pliers to quickly place the hair left by Chuyuan into a bottle.

”Grand General, aren’t we going to deal with that Golden Ape?” Lotcar asked.

Although the Golden Ape had fled from the tree branch, he could still track the Golden Ape’s path through the blood concentration in the air.

Yang Yu looked in the direction the Golden Ape had vanished, glanced at the bottle filled with monkey hair, and tossed it into the System.

”We have to deal with it, no matter what background it has, no matter what reasons it has for sacrificing itself, we must handle it now.

Keeping it around could spell trouble for us later.”
