Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Regarding the intelligence on human geniuses, there really wasn’t anything for Artem Roosevelt to keep secret.

After all, what did it matter if he traded away some freshly acquired information in exchange for interesting news?

Besides, even if he didn’t reveal it himself, next year’s special edition of the ”Genius List” would publish whatever he wanted to be published.

Moreover, the Dragon God Conference was a grand event that occurred once every ten years.

The information dealers from Dragon God Evaluation Country had long been eager, beginning to gather intelligence on the contestants to later sell to gamblers or the competitors themselves.

Those who worked in that line of business all had certain skills.

Some information dealers could even observe subtle details that ordinary people couldn’t, much more accurately than he could observe himself.

Therefore, Artem Roosevelt unloaded all the intelligence he knew to Yang Yu without any burden.

True strength lied in still being able to defeat one’s opponent when they knew your weaknesses.

”I’ve told you everything I know.

But this is a once-in-a-decade event. It would not be strange for someone to conceal their true strength during my interviews or intentionally reveal certain weaknesses to deceive me.

The information I provide should only be used as a reference.

Sir, you seem very interested in the Dragon God Conference, so you must also want to try your hand at the challenge.

May I interview you again?

Sir, I wonder, how should I address you now?”

When Artem Roosevelt said ”now,” his tone became noticeably heavier, and Yang Yu frowned inwardly.

Damn it, should I say it’s no surprise coming from an elder of the All Things Library?

How did he figure out my identity? Or is he just probing?

To be safe, Yang Yu also probed Artem Roosevelt while responding,

”Potato Thorn, my current title is Grand General.

I wasn’t called by this name before; I changed it after achieving victory and awakening at the Plant Clan’s autumn festival.

Sir, you look somewhat familiar.

Have we met somewhere before?”

”Who knows!”

Artem Roosevelt slightly tipped his cowboy hat with a smile, giving an ambiguous reply.

”General Potato, could you now answer whether you can accept my interview?”

Yang Yu was two hundred percent certain that Artem Roosevelt had recognized him.

Damn it, seen through so easily.

I even bothered to disguise myself, show me some respect, hey!

Although he was seen through, Artem Roosevelt didn’t seem to have any intention of exposing Yang Yu.

So, Yang Yu replied:

”To go to the Dragon God Conference, an invitation is needed.

You must understand the situation in Wansheng Country to some extent, right?

As long as the war continues, I’m afraid I won’t be able to attend the Dragon God Conference.

Let’s skip the interview for now.”

”That’s true, we must get past the current crisis first.

Until next time, if we have the chance to meet again.

If you win at the Dragon God Conference, you must accept my interview then.”

Packing up his notebook and pen, Artem Roosevelt walked through the crowd and left.

Passing by Bai Jin, Iyas, and Lotcar, Artem Roosevelt suddenly smiled, tipped his cowboy hat lower, and muttered to himself while continuing to walk forward:

”What direction will this next war take!

Suddenly feeling excited.

Maybe I should publish a special issue after the war ends?”

Another troublesome matter had increased.

As one of the Chief Editors of the All Things Library and the writer of the ”Genius List,” Artie Roosevelt craved more dramatic developments.

Regardless of whether he could turn the tide of the war, if he really became the winner of the Dragon God Conference...

Yang Yu could already envision a future where Artie Roosevelt suddenly appeared at the Dragon God Conference, using that leverage to coerce him into an interview.

After the Dragon God Conference, Artie would certainly give him substantial coverage and promotion.

In the future, when others saw him, they would be on guard, and without a doubt, leveling up would not be easy.

Though helpless, he would have to wait until after winning the Dragon God Conference to consider future matters.

Resolved, Yang Yu let Xin Mang, who had come to watch, lead the way as he re-entered Blood Lion’s residence and met with Lord Wan Huawen.

Wan Huawen heard of Yang Yu’s promotion to Grand General without surprise; he simply invited Yang Yu to sit down and inquired about his purpose.

Yang Yu also candidly expressed his thoughts, hoping that Wan Huawen could further refine the Task he had given him, providing him with a clear objective, such as becoming a General of Wansheng Country.

Wan Huawen did not immediately agree to Yang Yu’s request but instead invited him to have some tea while telling him about his winter experiences.

To gain Wan Huawen’s favor and clarify his objectives, Yang Yu had no choice but to recount the course of the winter offensive from start to finish.

Wan Huawen sat in his seat, arms folded, becoming more engrossed as he listened.

Once Yang Yu mentioned the Luoze Empire’s retreat, Wan Huawen immediately pressed: ”What happened next? Facing the Humans’ spring offensive, what counter-strategy did you employ?”

Yang Yu shook his head, ”That will be Ajiket’s troops’ responsibility next.

On my way back to Baihua City, I learned that Minister Ming Dalak dispatched a Centaur troop renowned for their outstanding mobility.

By leveraging their high mobility, they should be able to alleviate the defense pressure on Sailuomen Plain.”

Realizing his lapse in composure, Wan Huawen straightened up, assuming his usual dignified posture,

”The defense of Sailuomen Plain this spring will also significantly impact our subsequent strategic planning.

I truly didn’t expect Humans to be so troublesome.

And that foolish son of mine, despite being told countless times, still ran headfirst into a tree.

What does Lord Potato think—how many chances do we still have to completely reclaim Sailuomen Plain?”

”Judging by the Humans’ construction speed, the wall will be completed this year.

Once it’s done, the chances for the Beastmen will grow slimmer by the day.

The Humans have mastered some unprecedented technology, and time is on their side.

...To win, we need a quick and decisive victory.”

”A quick and decisive victory. Since you are so confident, if you can lead your troops to retake Sailuomen Plain this winter, I will give you the Racial Essence of the Blood Lion and also teach you the Skill you want to learn.”

”That is indeed a serious offer.”

”Though you say that, I don’t feel you have any difficulties.

Having been so active in the winter and leaping to Grand General, I believe you won’t just stop there.”

Yang Yu shook his head, ”Even so, one must prepare for the worst.

I cannot be certain that my solution will be one hundred percent effective.

If it fails, I hope that Lord of the family will grant me another opportunity.”

”That will depend on your achievements throughout the year.”
