Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Vorquis stood still, a blue Magic Shield enveloping him once again.

This was the ”Magic Shield,” a skill that used his own mana to offset damage.

Bai Jin’s attacks bam-smashed into the shield, instantly depleting Vorquis’s mana to zero.

The Magic Shield released by Vorquis collapsed instantly, but he did not back down just because his mana was depleted.

Using the duration of the shield, Vorquis had planned his next mode of attack, and the moment the shield disappeared, he adjusted his posture and attacked both Yang Yu and Bai Jin at once.

Just then, taking advantage of her positioning to dodge attacks from Hapi, Iyas’s hands glowed radiantly, and a dazzling Holy Light like a hammer mercilessly struck Vorquis’s flank.

”Holy Punishment” could ignore part of the enemy’s Magic Resistance and strike with a critical hit, which instantly depleted Vorquis’s blood volume significantly and disrupted his attack rhythm.

At that moment, Princess Eena took out a test tube from her body, shaking the Magic Potion inside.

The originally clear Magic Potion instantly turned purple.

Princess Eena tossed the potion into the air, snapped her fingers, and the test tube burst open, releasing purple smoke that transformed into speckles and settled on Vorquis.

The injuries on Vorquis’s body healed significantly.

Yang Yu could see a bunch of BUFFs and DEBUFFs appearing on Vorquis.

Vorquis’s speed, defense, and attack power received an overall boost, but his healing rate, intelligence, and Magic Resistance saw a significant decline, and there was a slowly flashing strange icon on the status bar.

Upon inspection, Yang Yu understood the meaning of that icon.

— ”Temporary Antidrug Resistance 20%,” reducing the effectiveness of other Magic Potions by 20% for five minutes.

Temporary Antidrug Resistance?

Yang Yu was quite surprised by the appearance of this icon.

In his vague memory, Antidrug Resistance seemed to refer to the reduced sensitivity of pathogens and tumor cells to chemotherapy drugs.

If drugs can neither kill nor inhibit pathogens, Antidrug Resistance is equivalent to drug dosage failure or drug tolerance.

The game’s use of the term ”Antidrug Resistance” didn’t seem to limit the players’ use of potions, but rather, there was a deeper reason.

Princess Eena’s profession is a Magic Potion Maker, geared towards crafting Magic Potions and fighting with them.

Magic Potions are a broad concept in this world, generally referring to potions imbued with magic power.

The Recovery Potion used by Yang Yu, broadly speaking, is indeed a type of Magic Potion.

If he compared himself to a pathogen...

After using the potion, was there something deposited inside him, causing his body’s sensitivity to Magic Potions to decrease?

And Vorquis, who made physical contact with Magic Potions, didn’t experience internal deposition after use, only weakening the effects of subsequent drugs for a period?

Another curious matter arose, and Yang Yu seemed to also understand why his own Antidrug Resistance could increase and decrease.

Noticing a surge of strength in his body, Vorquis didn’t rush to attack but instead focused on defending against Bai Jin’s attacks and temporarily retreated.

While thinking and adjusting his attack strategy, Vorquis cast a dissatisfied glance at Princess Eena,

”Too slow, Little Love.”

”There’s no helping it, preparing this Magic Potion takes some time.

Next, I ask Lord Vorquis to stall a bit longer while I immediately prepare other Magic Potions.

As long as we use those Magic Potions wisely...”

”There’s no need for that; this Magic Potion is already enough. Using more later will only diminish its effects.”

”I mean, I could use Magic Potions with offensive properties to assist Lord Vorquis...”

”There’s no need for that; just leave everything to me here.”

With that, Vorquis charged at Yang Yu once again.

High above, Hapi Yixuan attempted to coordinate with Vorquis but was tightly suppressed by the remote Archer, Iyas, and was forced to temporarily target Iyas.

Iyas had just hit Vorquis, and if Iyas didn’t allow her to help Vorquis attack Yang Yu, she definitely couldn’t let Iyas interfere with Vorquis.

However, even though Vorquis had many BUFFs and temporarily surpassed Yang Yu in Speed, Yang Yu didn’t seem panicked at all.

Vorquis didn’t seem to know how to use his enhanced Speed properly, simply charging ahead single-mindedly, his body full of openings and excessive movements.

His fluidity was not even one-fifth of that of Wind-breaking Aslit.

Against such a Hero, the outcome of this match was hardly in doubt.

Actually, if Yang Yu wanted to defeat the Hero, he wouldn’t need to exert much effort, but he still seriously took his time to confirm the Skills used by the Hero and his colleagues.

Although the Hero’s skills and strength didn’t match now, who could predict the future?

This was also a show of respect for a Hero who was chosen by the goddess.

However, as things stood, the Hero truly hadn’t hidden his Strength; his actual ability was just like that.

After such a statement, if he had any strength, he would have shown it long ago.

Glancing at Vorquis’s two colleagues.

Hapi could fly, which gave him decent mobility, but his skills were as poor as the Hero’s, often relying more on instinct for Attack and Defense, as if he’d never received any teaching.

As for Princess Eena, Yang Yu was still interested in seeing what kind of Skills she had that could work with Magic Potion Skills; he remembered there were quite a few.

However, Vorquis’s attitude toward Princess Eena seemed to have changed slightly, causing discord within the team...

This was undoubtedly a ticking time bomb.

When exactly it would explode and where the Hero’s path would lead were still unknown to Yang Yu.

The only thing Yang Yu knew was that the current Hero was simply a large Experience Bag, defeating him was like harvesting vegetables.

When the time of the Demon King’s Descent came, if he hadn’t changed at all, then he would truly become a laughingstock among the Demon Clan...

...The Hero?

In the end, what is the criterion for a Hero?

If being a Hero is determined by bloodline, then how did the first generation of Heroes come about?

According to the ”Elven Chronicles,” there seemed to be no Demon King or Hero in ancient times...

More confused thoughts streamed through Yang Yu’s mind as he once again turned towards Vorquis.

Vorquis’s Sword Blade had already reached Yang Yu and Bai Jin.

Yang Yu simply stood in front of Bai Jin, brandished his Shield, activated his Skill, and stably caught Vorquis’s strike,

”Mu Jin, it’s almost time to end this.”

Hearing Yang Yu’s voice, Bai Jin nodded, pushed off with her legs, leaped backward, springing into the air, and disengaged from the array center of ”Ghost Shadow Formation.”

Chanting, a huge Ice Spear formed in front of her, pointed straight at Vorquis.
