Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

A streak of black light flashed across the bronze ring, and an Enchanting Demon with a proud figure sat on a tree branch, crossing her legs in a carefree pose.

She was indeed a true member of the Demon Clan, possessing a pair of black bat wings, a pair of twisted goat horns, and a long, heart-shaped tail.

Beneath the tree, ten Beastman Soldiers dressed in camouflage clothes looked up at her, their eyes shining with boundless admiration.

In their eyes, every move the Enchanting Demon made was perfect, and they took every word she said as the absolute truth. With just a coquettish blown kiss from her, they cheered with joy, their hearts pounding uncontrollably, robbing them of a good night’s sleep.

The Enchanting Demon spoke,

”I will need your protection later when someone tries to harm me.

The first among you to repel them will receive a special reward from me.”

Upon hearing this, the Beastman Soldiers erupted into thunderous cheers, full of vigor:

”Everything for Lady Norma!”

It wasn’t long before the charmed Beastmen unsheathed their Sword Blades and darted into the woods.

They constantly used their keen hearing to pick up the sounds around them.

Heading in the direction Norma was facing, the Beastman Soldiers quickly located the noise.

They raced through layers of lush bushes, and just as they were about to swing their Sword Blades, a huge Silver Wolf knocked them all to the ground.

Being fellow Subhumans, they had detected the approach of Lotcar, and had not Lotcar detected them as well?

Iyas drew out tangible arrows and shot several of the Beastmen Soldiers who were sent flying, pinning them to the trees, while Bai Jin rapidly Chanted Magic, and streams of frost rigidly bound the Beastman Soldiers.

Taking out pills that could counteract abnormal Statuses, Yang Yu tossed some to Lotcar and took a few himself.

To his knowledge, targets of Charming Magic had no specific gender.

Thus, Yang Yu also gave a few pills to Bai Jin and Iyas to hold in their mouths.

He had to ensure that no one in his team was being controlled, so as to be prepared for what was to come.

The silhouette of the Enchanting Demon among the tree branches became clearer, and Iyas aimed her Light Arrow at the Enchanting Demon, unleashing the triple combo of ”Hunter Mark,” ”Deadly Shot,” and ”Guaranteed Hit Arrow.”

Norma gently fluttered her wings and lightly flew up from the tree branch.

The disappearing arrows in front of her eyes didn’t startle her.

Spreading her arms, a purple protective shield enveloped Norma.

The impact of Iyas’s arrows on the protective shield was like hitting a bouncy rubber ball, viciously repelled without mercy.

Bai Jin’s attacks came swiftly after, and numerous Frost Ice Arrows shot towards Norma’s shield, but still, they were effortlessly deflected by her shield.

Norma did not take advantage of the sustained duration of her shield to flee instantly but instead landed slowly back on the branch she had previously sat on, looking down at Yang Yu and the others from a superior position,

”Can you wait for a moment? I know what you are here for. Can we talk for a bit?”

”To direct the manipulated Beastman Soldiers at us and still have the nerve to ask for a deal with us...

Speak!

What kind of deal do you, a member of the Demon Clan, want to make with us?”

Yang Yu hadn’t launched an attack, but instead rode on Lotcar’s back, observing every move Norma made.

Norma, under attack from Yang Yu and his companions, showed not a trace of fear; on the contrary, she conversed with Yang Yu with extreme confidence.

”The reason I came here...

I really don’t know.

Perhaps there is a temporal rift between the Demon World and your world, and I accidentally touched it, which flung me here.

Essence Qi from other races is essential nourishment for us.

In the Demon World, our race has established many contracts with other races, so we don’t worry about starvation.

But in this world, we lack races willing to form contracts, and thus we don’t have Essence Qi to consume.

Including this time, I have only fed twice.”

”I had no choice but to make a move against them,”

Regrettably, regrettably, humans as a species are far more fragile than imagined, unable to sustain much after 58 rounds.

The last time, I was really too hungry, and afraid of being attacked, I might have overdone it.

This time, I learned my lesson and will leave them a way to live.”

I had thought that Yang Yu would retort with, ”You think I’d believe what a member of the Demon Clan says?”, but Norma found that Yang Yu was quite calm, which made Norma think the man might be useful, potentially a pawn for her master.

Yang Yu did not comment on Norma’s reasons for her actions, merely asking, ”What do you want me to do?”

Norma smiled, playing with her long black tail,

”I’ve already captured quite a few reserves of food.

If you can keep this a secret for me, I’ll give you some special information.

As the saying goes, a small kindness warrants a fountain of gratitude.”

”Then can you first explain the poisoned corpse? I heard you and a golden monkey plotting against my men.”

”It’s a misunderstanding.”

Norma’s face maintained a seductive smile,

”The place I crossed over from the Demon World wasn’t here; it was at a research facility to the north.

That golden monkey, I encountered it once while fleeing pursuit, and it’s highly likely to be a biological weapon created by the Luo Ze Empire.

We are incompatible as fire and water; it has killed several of my potential meals.

Fortunately, it was not here to hunt me.

Then, seeing a strong race, naturally, I attempted to entice him, but sadly he wasn’t interested in me...

My Charming Magic had no effect on him either.

That golden monkey is extremely dangerous to you and your troops, leaving it unchecked, your guerrilla forces could face unprecedented heavy losses.

As long as you return my food supply to me, I will inform you of his whereabouts, how does that sound?”

Yang Yu shrugged his shoulders and sheathed his sword,

”I’m more concerned about what you mentioned regarding the Demon World than I am about this.

Anyway, if the golden monkey is as you say, we will eventually have to deal with it.”

”You really are quite confident.”

Norma crossed her legs, propping up her chest,

”But be that as it may, the negotiation is established.

However, within the Enchanting Demons, I am relatively weak, so there’s undoubtedly much knowledge I’m unaware of.

I’ll answer your questions as best I can.

I hope you will be satisfied.”

Naturally, Yang Yu wouldn’t miss this opportunity; even though he knew the information from the Enchanting Demon might be half-true at best, he was still willing to listen, especially since it cost nothing.

Without any hesitation, Yang Yu asked, ”First question, what exactly is the Demon World like?”

”This is indeed a difficult question.

However, I can tell you for certain that it’s a very cruel, dark world where killing is a daily occurrence.

But in the last hundred years, under the rule of the current Demon King, it has actually become orderly.

We Enchanting Demons were also able to establish connections with more of the other Demon Clans, open our shops, and taste different races.”

As Norma spoke, she licked her lips, reminiscing about her past life.

Undisturbed, Yang Yu pressed on, ”Then, what sort of person is the Demon King in the Demon World?”
