Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Wanzhang Lion stated that even if he possessed the rights of the entire country, he dared not command his clan’s head family to give him the Racial Essence.

Yang Yu would still need to communicate with the Blood Lion Patriarch, Wan Huawen, to use the Racial Essence of the Blood Lions.

As a substitute, Wanzhang Lion would continue to provide Yang Yu with the Beastmen’s Racial Essence to treat his illness.

After making requests for his troop’s needs to Ming Dalak, Yang Yu temporarily stationed his troops near several new training grounds, found a few officers with team-leading experience to supervise, and then he headed to the Blood Lion’s residence.

In front of the Blood Lion’s residence, for some reason, it was bustling, and people seemed to be watching something.

Showing his token, Yang Yu led Bai Jin and the others through the bustling crowd, where he saw a man wearing a cowboy hat, with a full beard, enthusiastically talking to a young man with lion ears who reeked of alcohol even in broad daylight.

Focusing his gaze, Yang Yu felt that the man looked somewhat familiar.

Opening his panel, Yang Yu found that the man was one of the Library Elders who had once judged him.

The chief editor of the ”Genius List”—Artie Roosevelt.

Artie Roosevelt held a notebook and pen, asking the young man with lion ears incessantly, rapidly jotting down notes.

The Beastmen’s hatred for Human was needless to say, yet appearing so openly here showed that Artie Roosevelt was quite confident in his own strength.

Yang Yu was not surprised to see Artie Roosevelt here.

The ”Genius List” from the All Things Library only ranked the genius of the Human side, with few records of Sub-human Species’ geniuses.

But there were always exceptions.

In the year before the Dragon God Conference, the All Things Library would scour the land for geniuses among the Sub-humans to compile the once-in-a-decade ”Genius List” special edition and predict who would win the Dragon God Conference.

Aside from the excessive praise of Human geniuses, that publication was the most valuable reference material.

Next year, Yang Yu would also have to figure out a way to get the latest ”Genius List.”

”Yo! Long time no see.”

While Yang Yu was thinking about where to get the ”Genius List” special edition next year, suddenly someone gently patted his shoulder.

Turning around, a charming Fox Swordsman waving three fox tails greeted Yang Yu.

”Didn’t you join the military? What are you doing here?”

”You are...”

” Forgotten me so soon?” Xin Mang vigorously patted her chest, ”But it’s natural to get me wrong, I’ve changed since those days! Look—”

Xin Mang turned around, proudly showing off her three fluffy tails.

”Three tails. I’ve evolved from a two-tailed fox to a three-tailed fox. My strength is unlike before; I can now officially advance from a Quasi-S-Class Adventure Team to an S-Class Adventure Team.”

”Then let me formally congratulate you, Miss Xin Mang.”

”You remember after all, then why pretend not to recognize me?

Answer my question, why did you suddenly show up here?”

”I’m here to pick up some things and also wanted to have a good chat with the Blood Lion Patriarch again.”

”I see.”

Saying this, Xin Mang’s gaze landed on Iyas and Bai Jin. Xin Mang felt there was something familiar about their scent but couldn’t recall where she had smelled it before,

”Really, I can’t believe how you’ve managed to hook up with two elves in such a short time, hmm...

One of them... nevermind.

They should be fine following you.”

Xin Mang searched around on his clothes for a while and pulled out a thick magazine, handing it to Yang Yu,

”Adventurer’s Peak, last time you mentioned wanting me to save you a copy, I remembered! After you finish reading it, pass it on to someone else if you don’t need it.”

”Um, thanks, how much is it?”

”Given our relationship, let’s not worry about money.”

Xin Mang happily wagged her fox tail and said with a smile,

”You are making contributions to this country, work even harder for me, and consider it payment for this book.”

Bai Jin’s body involuntarily shivered, and she grasped the magic wand in her hand,

”That, um, may I ask what relationship do you and... our Grand General have?”

”Grand General? Have you become a Grand General already?” Xin Mang couldn’t help but express her disbelief, ”A single winter and you’ve been promoted to Grand General, that really is surprising. With your talents, if you chose to be an adventurer, you’d definitely become a formidable one!”

The crowd that had been gawking at Artie Roosevelt turned their attention to Yang Yu in an instant.

Seeing this, Wan Ze said to Artie Roosevelt:

”A few months ago, I had a fight with that guy, and his skills were pretty decent. I’m not sure how capable you humans are, but if even he can’t defeat me, I don’t think anyone can.”

Artie Roosevelt glanced at Yang Yu and felt he looked somewhat familiar. The next second, Wan Ze instantly flipped over the wall and ran away.

Noticing Wan Ze’s agile escape, Artie Roosevelt helplessly shook his head, sketching some notes in his notebook.

Then, he walked over to Yang Yu under everyone’s gaze.

”Sir, may I take a bit of your time?

I’m Artie Roosevelt from the All Things Library, and I’m human.

This time, I came to interview the talents of Wansheng Country to see their attitudes toward the upcoming Dragon God Conference.

I heard that you had a fight with Wan Ze of the Blood Lion, could you tell me your reaction at that time, your evaluation of his strength, and the details of the fight...”

Artie Roosevelt hadn’t fully reached Yang Yu’s side before bombarding him with a barrage of questions.

”Actually, there’s not much to it, Wan Ze’s strength is extraordinary, it’s not something I could overcome overnight.

You could say he’s one of the favorites to win the championship in Wansheng Country, the situation was like this...”

Yang Yu didn’t shy away; on the contrary, he blurted out everything that had happened before.

While saving Artie Roosevelt from embarrassment, he also did him a favor under everyone’s watchful eyes.

While telling his story, Yang Yu naturally embellished it, continually mentioning the beatings he endured, repeatedly emphasizing how he was without any means to resist.

Meanwhile, Artie Roosevelt’s hand never stopped moving, flipping through his notes, recording every word Yang Yu said.

Actually, at Artie Roosevelt’s level, he could easily use magic to make notes, but he still preferred the feeling of writing by hand.

”That was everything I experienced that day, I used all my skills just to barely fend off his attacks.”

Saying this, Yang Yu intentionally raised his voice,

”I’ve told you so much, could you perhaps share some intelligence from the human Genius List with us?

I know you’ve taken quite some risks coming here, but it seems somewhat unfair to only have one side gathering intelligence.

Consider it a fee for this interview.”

Artie gave a slight smile, took off his cowboy hat, and said, ”No problem, but I can only share a part with you, limited to the top twenty-five names. Do you want the upper half or the lower half?”

”The upper half.”
