Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

After lunch, a woman clad in a purple-grey long robe appeared behind Vorquis.

”Lord Vorquis, we’ve conducted a thorough investigation but still haven’t located the Enchanting Demon’s whereabouts.”

Hearing the report from the Luoze Empire investigator, Vorquis let out a long sigh,

”After such a long time, could they have escaped to other places?

Have there been any reports of Enchanting Demon sightings elsewhere?”

The investigator of the Luoze Empire helplessly shook his head, ”Currently, we still haven’t received any reports of Enchanting Demon sightings.”

Before Vorquis could respond, Princess Eena directly interjected with criticism:

”Then they must have fled elsewhere.

Continuing this search is just a waste of time.

Lord Vorquis’s time is precious, and he certainly doesn’t have time to undertake such an illusory task.”

”I’m terribly sorry.

I know this may be quite time-consuming, but the appearance of Enchanting Demons in this world is not something to be taken lightly...

I know I’m being thick-skinned, but I still implore Lord Vorquis to stay here a while longer.”

The Luoze Empire investigator bowed in apology,

”Our soldiers are on their way here; with the winter offensive over, it’s our nation’s turn for the spring-summer offensive. If those Enchanting Demons appear, there will surely be many more horrific deaths.

By the way, Lord Vorquis, you’re not without opportunity to gain combat experience here.

The Wolshi National General said you have certain rights to command soldiers. Those Beastmen will surely approach this volcano, and Lord Vorquis will definitely learn something from our war.”

”Lift your head!”

The Luoze Empire investigator did as Vorquis ordered and lifted his head, the next second found the sharp tip of a sword pointing at his nose.

”Why must you insist on waging war with the Beastmen, especially at such a crucial time?”

Confronted with Vorquis’s questioning, the Empire investigator suddenly became hesitant,

”Because... the Beastmen have tarnished our nation’s honor... and the Beastmen are the spawn of demons; only by eradicating them can the world find peace.”

”Is that so...”

Vorquis sheathed his sword and flung his cape aside,

”Whether or not they are the spawn of demons, I shall ascertain for myself.

As for the investigation, leave it to your Investigation Corps.

If there’s still no news by this spring, I will continue my adventure.

No one can stop me!”

”Yes! Then your subordinate will continue the investigation. If there’s any new discovery, I’ll come back and report to Lord Vorquis immediately.”

So saying, the Luoze investigator left Vorquis’s side.

Vorquis watched the investigator leave with a smile on his face. It had been a long time since he’d wanted to say such a suave line.

With this opportunity, he wouldn’t let it go.

These words, however, slightly annoyed Princess Eena,

”Lord Vorquis, do you intend to get involved in this war?”

”Just having a look won’t hurt; searching for Enchanting Demons here is quite boring for me.”

”Lord Vorquis, not to say, we shouldn’t be wasting time on such trivial tasks right now.

Our pressing priority is to become stronger, to seek out more powerful demons for training, or perhaps venture into the Underground Maze to acquire various treasures.

Wasting time on these matters, when the Demon King descends, many more will die.”

Princess Eena’s voice couldn’t help but rise a few notches, but she was met with a fierce glare from Vorquis,

”Little Love, recently, you seem a bit inflated. Could it be because I lost to that guy?”

Realizing she had spoken too strongly, Princess Eena quickly backtracked,

”That’s not it at all~

Encountering some setbacks on the road is unavoidable.

Moreover, that guy must have something special about him that caused Lord Vorquis’s defeat, he’s intentionally hiding his strength.

Lord Vorquis, as you are now, if you meet him again, you will definitely be able to avenge your previous loss.”

”There’s no need for you to say that, it’s certainly the case.”

Vorquis’s gaze swept over his panel of averages over a thousand, brimming with confidence,

”Given my growth, I don’t need to worry about the future.

If I can’t even save the person before me, how can I talk about saving the world.

We’ve rested enough, let’s continue the search.

When the Luoze troops arrive, we’ll hand it all over to the Luo Ze Empire’s Investigation Corps.”

With unfulfilled desires, Hapi licked his lips, raising his wings high, ”This time Yixuan, I will work harder, investigate more meticulously! I absolutely have to be useful!”

Princess Eena smiled, ”As expected of Lord Vorquis. Then I too must muster all my energy, I absolutely cannot lose!”

”That’s the spirit.”

When Vorquis resumed his journey of cutting through thorns and brambles, Princess Eena’s gaze shifted.

Amidst her resentment, there seemed to be a hint of disdain.

Lux’s calendar, year 415, March 16th

In Baihua City, after preparing everything needed, Yang Yu led his troops to set off for Qinghe Volcano.

One can’t help but admire this Magic World; even without large factories, as long as there is demand, the Magicians of daily life can easily mass-produce the needed clothing.

Moreover, the artisan spirit of these life-oriented Magicians is commendable.

Each piece of military uniform Yang Yu received was like a copy-pasted replica; each part of the pattern was identical, even the stitching looked the same.

Yang Yu couldn’t tell which one was the original and which were the replicas.

It was truly exaggerated.

When the soldiers received the camouflage clothes from Yang Yu, they all looked at each other with scepticism, doubting Yang Yu’s claim. Could changing into a set of clothes really reduce casualties?

It wasn’t until Yang Yu demonstrated the effect in the mountain forests on the way that they became convinced by the simple but ingenious piece of clothing.

Just by wearing the clothes and lying down there, if one wasn’t careful, the position of the soldier just now could not be found.

Even a few Beastmen with keen eyesight just shook their heads, barely determining the soldiers’ whereabouts based on the scent on the ground.

In nature, there are various protective colors.

What looks like an orchid might be a praying mantis, and the stripes on the bodies of zebras on the plains mimic the grass, the reason zebras are black and white is that many of their predators have black and white vision.

The human camouflage uses the principle of protective colors.

As scientists have conducted extensive research on the human race, the weaknesses of human vision have been thoroughly studied, and camouflage technology has become increasingly advanced.

If relying solely on human vision, finding someone wearing camouflage clothes in the dense jungle is not easy.

Understanding the magic of these camouflage clothes, those soldiers who had previously doubted Yang Yu restrained themselves.

However, they still didn’t know what approach their Grand General would take to attack Qinghe Volcano and its surroundings.
