Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

On the screen of the magic device, Yang Yu broke away from the main troops and recklessly approached the cave entrance. The mage guarding the entrance felt an unsettling premonition.

Contrary to most soldiers, the officer guarding the entrance remained calm and commanded in a voice loud enough for everyone present to hear,

”Shoot!”

Upon receiving the order, the Luo Ze mage quickly infused magic power into each of the magic devices positioned before them.

This magic power converged into the machine of the magic team captain.

With a flick of a joystick and the press of a button, the captain swiftly selected a Magic Array from the machine, channeling the gathered magic power into the array to animate it in a systematic pattern.

There were only two enemies, one dragging the other, not moving fast.

Using Thunder Magic, which was rapid-firing and quite potent, was the most appropriate choice.

Before a pile of rubble, a Magic Array shimmered with white light, unleashing countless silver serpents like a machine gun, darting toward Yang Yu in dense, relentless streams.

Yang Yu’s calm voice rose beside Chenshui’s ear,

”I’ll emphasize it again, don’t move.

Even if you get hurt a little, absolutely do not move!

Until I give the command, you are as good as dead.”

Having said that, Yang Yu then hoisted the highly-raised Chenshui onto his shoulder.

Chenshui complied without complaint, and even if there were any, he could only follow Yang Yu’s instructions and lie still now.

The sizzling thunder serpents charged straight at Yang Yu.

Most of Yang Yu’s defenses were virtually useless against the penetrating power of the Electric Magic.

The minute lightning serpents were extremely dense; even though Yang Yu could see the trajectory of each Thunder Magic spell, his mobility was limited while carrying someone, and he couldn’t be entirely sure of dodging all the attacks.

Lowering his body, Yang Yu dodged several lightning strikes with angles that seemed impossible.

His rapid gaze swept over the disarrayed stones, reconfirming his path, Yang Yu crashed into several bolts of Thunder Magic.

When evasion was not an option, he prioritized the route that would cause the least loss of blood.

Taking hit after hit from the Thunder Magic, the electricity pulsated on Yang Yu’s skin, as if brilliant sparks of electrical fire adorned him.

Ignoring the slight sensations of paralysis emanating from his body, ignoring his rapidly declining blood bar, Yang Yu firmly forged step by step into the midst of the chaotic stones, drawing ever closer to the cave entrance designated by the Blazing Fire Clan.

The Luo Ze mage guarding the entrance inhaled sharply and channeled even more magic power into the magic device.

The mage team captain immediately chose the far more powerful spell ”Infinite Explosion” and again manipulated the Magic Array to target Yang Yu.

Within the Magic Array, the purest magic power continued to amass.

In an instant, an energy-based, non-attribute magic spell cascaded upon Yang Yu.

The mage who cast the spell was sure that if this blow landed, Yang Yu would be utterly annihilated.

This was an attack that even the Grand General had to seriously beware of; taking down a mere vanguard would be no issue.

However, Yang Yu had been waiting for just such a moment.

Having perused the Skill Atlas in the All Things Library, he naturally recognized this move.

A strange gleam flashed across the shield; Yang Yu adjusted its position, sidestepped to the right, and with an impeccable angle, reflected the incoming magic back, blasting it toward another cave entrance spewing magic.

That entrance had a Barrier up, yet it still couldn’t withstand such a powerful spell.

In that moment, earth and stone erupted, and a pitiful squeal came from that side of the entrance, as though the entire mountain trembled slightly.

The Luo Ze soldiers at that particular entrance were thrown into disarray, turning their backs to the thick dust billowing into the cave as they crouched down covering their heads.

After a while, they slowly stood again and peered through the magic device to check the situation outside.

Seeing that Yang Yu’s target wasn’t themselves, they slowly breathed a sigh of relief.

But it was that moment of respite that allowed Yang Yu to reach his destination.

Setting down Chenshui, Yang Yu summoned his long sword, cut the ropes,

”Move quickly.”

Following the command, Chenshui suddenly squatted, dove her hands into the rubble, and her crimson pigtails, as if real flames, ignited completely.

The Blazing Fire Clan’s scorching magic power spread rapidly through the connected pieces of rubble, seeping into the jumbled stones blocking the cave entrance.

”Detonate!”

As Chenshui’s voice commanded, the volcanic molten lava blocking the cave mouth resonated with the magic power of the Blazing Fire Clan.

Red lines covered each rock of volcanic molten lava in the blink of an eye.

It was as if a mass of explosives had been crammed into the pile of stones, and the destructive force burst out from inside the rubble.

Accompanied by a terrible roar, the stones at the cave entrance exploded, turning into a myriad of dangerous and deadly burning projectiles that shot wildly in all directions.

”Interception!”

A huge Illusion Shield extended from Yang Yu’s Shield, he shielded Chenshui behind him, letting the stones crackle against his Illusion Shield.

Yang Yu’s defense was not perfect.

Scorching rocks traced bizarre parabolas through the air, like meteors, like raindrops, cracking down around Yang Yu.

”Keep up with my pace, protect yourself.”

Before the impact had subsided, a red glow enveloped Yang Yu’s Illusion Shield, and his body transformed into a bullet, ramming through the sand and stone, bursting into the cave mouth.

After occupying Blazing Fire City, the Luo Ze Empire had divided the city’s passageways into those commonly used and those not.

The commonly used passageways, which were meant for troop movement, were built with doors that could be opened and closed.

For the less frequently used passageways, in addition to piling up stones at the entrances, thick brick walls were constructed, leaving only a few ventilation points.

The cave entrance chosen by Yang Yu and his companions was one such rarely used pathway.

Originally, even if the troops of the Wansheng Country reached the cave entrance, these brick walls would become stumbling blocks for the Beastman Soldiers, and Luo Ze’s troops would have sufficient time to dodge inside and report to their Generals.

But now, due to the Blazing Fire Clan detonating the volcanic molten lava at the cave entrance, the powerful shock had deformed their constructed walls, which buckled inward as if they would collapse at any moment.

”What the hell is going on? Is it that Blazing Fire?

To detonate the magic power stored in the volcanic molten lava, we wouldn’t have used these stones if we had any other choice...”

The screens of the magic devices, like arcade machines, turned into a flurry of static, as these magic devices could no longer connect to nearby detection devices to check the outside situation.

The officer guarding the cave entrance made an instant decision:

”Abandon this place!

Lure them deeper, in the depths of the cave, coordinate with other defenders to set up Array, and use powerful joint magic to stop their invasion.

We must also quickly contact General Kai Lu...”

Before arrangements for communication were made, the officer watched helplessly as the severely damaged wall was shattered by Yang Yu using ”Red Blood Path”.

Stones crumbled down with a bam, and Yang Yu strolled in front of the Magicians, smiling,

”Do you want to surrender, or shall I force you to surrender?”

The Luo Ze Empire officer clarified his stance with his actions, drawing out his Sword Blade, pointing at Yang Yu, and roared,

”Attack! All is for the glory of the Empire!”
