Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The few Luoze Knights who coordinated with the Magic Troop for defense swung their Sword Blades, slashing towards Yang Yu.

Yang Yu twisted and turned, easily dodging all the attacks of the Close Combat Knights, delivering a few cuts to one of them and a kick to another, sending them tumbling behind him.

The Magicians, who had just been controlling the Magic Device, swiftly aimed their Magic Wands at Yang Yu, Chanting Magic, as dense clusters of spells swept towards him.

A streak of blood red flashed in Yang Yu’s eyes, and his figure transformed into a phantom.

Explosions of magic burst around Yang Yu, but only a few actually struck him.

At least, that’s how it seemed.

In the next instant, Yang Yu stood before these Magicians, swinging out the Sword Blade, executing a plain, unadorned attack.

The Magicians of the Luo Ze Empire had received formal magic education, they were the most traditional of Magicians.

Traditional mid to low-level Magicians could cast powerful spells, but their mobility and Defense were not particularly robust.

For their own protection, the Magicians of the Luo Ze Empire had also learned defensive moves.

Shield Magic and Acceleration Magic had always been the most popular spells.

Survival first, only then could they deliver their offensive power.

However, even if they learned it, without the ability to complete casting before an enemy’s attack arrived, being approached closely by a Profession adept at brawling only turned them into prey for others.

Yang Yu’s Speed was simply too fast, so fast that they couldn’t make out the action of his swing before Yang Yu’s Sword Blade had already streaked across their bodies, with blood spurting out instantly.

Yang Yu’s movements never paused, on the contrary, they became even more fluid.

As the soldiers who hadn’t been attacked couldn’t discern Yang Yu’s position, they could only activate their Magic Shield first, then predict Yang Yu’s path and launch their Magic afterward.

However, Yang Yu precisely timed the disappearance of each person’s protective shield, and in an instant his hand rose and the blade fell.

In just a short while, most of the Magicians who had been operating the Magic Device had fallen, and the surviving Magicians, like frightened birds, immediately threw down their wands and surrendered when Yang Yu made a move in their direction.

The other twenty soldiers responsible for guarding the passage heard the commotion, waving their Long Spears and thrusting at Yang Yu.

Yang Yu effortlessly blocked all their attacks with his Shield, knocking down all the attacking Luoze soldiers in passing.

The levels of these soldiers ranged from fifty to sixty, and their average attribute was just three or four hundred, such Luoze soldiers were considered the backbone of the army.

But to Yang Yu now, they were equivalent to small fry.

Being small fry, they naturally didn’t require much effort to be dealt with.

In the end, Yang Yu single-handedly suppressed all of the more than sixty Luoze soldiers guarding the entrance.

Gazing into the abyss of the cave, deep roars continually echoed from within its depths.

Yang Yu turned his head toward Chenshui, who appeared behind him, swaying unsteadily.

At that moment, seeing Yang Yu plunge headlong into the passage, Chenshui was frantic with anxiety, never expecting the Grand General to be so reckless.

Chenshui quickened her pace, intending to cover Yang Yu, only to find out that just as she stepped into the familiar tunnel, the battle had already ended.

Isn’t this too fast? Wasn’t I prepared to face certain death when I came here? How did it end so quickly?

...

...

”One cave entrance was breached, another was damaged, the rest beyond reach.

He truly is capable.

Without him, who knows how many Beastman Soldiers would have had to be sacrificed to capture the first cave entrance.”

Ming Dalak, that guy, actually managed to find such a talented human.

”If he had told me earlier, I wouldn’t have needed to worry about whether our ideals could be realized.”

The praise for Yang Yu continued unabated, and Dongmu immediately summoned the troops, rushing towards the blasted cave entrance.

Bai Jin and Iyas also mounted Lotcar, transformed into a giant wolf, riding on the tide of the Beastmen.

At the cave mouth, Yang Yu carefully examined the machinery that appeared before his eyes.

It had been a long time since he had played arcade games, and to his surprise, to prevent soldiers from being too bored, the Luo Ze Empire had actually created arcade games first to alleviate their loneliness.

The Luo Ze Empire played lavishly, not fearing that the soldiers would become addicted to the games and neglect their duties in warfare.

Unfortunately, those arcade machines were damaged.

They most likely had suffered a lot of impact.

Yang Yu’s panel displayed only the words ”Damaged Equipment” in front of those devices, not specifying what kind of equipment they were.

By appearance alone, they looked exactly like arcade machines.

It’s possible they were prizes drawn from Vorquis...

If these arcade games were actually the launch pads for those magics just now, that would be really mind-boggling.

After a few attempts, Yang Yu couldn’t get an image to appear on the flickering screen, so he decided to ignore those ”arcade games” and began observing his surroundings carefully.

He had thought the city pathways built by the Blazing Fire Clan were nothing more than narrow passages filled with damp soil, but they turned out to be surprisingly spacious, enough to accommodate four carriages side by side.

But for the Beastman Army, this width was still too cramped.

The entire passage was squarely shaped, and the floor and ceiling of the tunnel were strikingly smooth.

Under the illumination of the magic lamps set up by the Luo Ze Empire, the floor made of volcanic glass and pyroxene perfectly reflected Yang Yu’s shadow.

Unlike the even ceiling and floor, the walls of the passageway were uneven.

Just as Yang Yu wondered why the place was designed this way, Chenshui moved a bit closer to him.

Yang Yu’s surroundings suddenly became bright, while the areas where Wansheng Country had placed magic devices remained incredibly dim.

After confirming with Chenshui, Yang Yu learned that the Blazing Fire Clan generally had two forms.

One was the ”human” form with fiery red skin, and the other was the flame form ignited from their hair.

With this ability, the Blazing Fire Clan was known as the Fire Clan.

Switching between their human and flame forms was as common for them as eating and drinking.

Unfortunately, once they left Qinghe Volcano, the heat within their bodies diminished bit by bit.

Therefore, after they left Qinghe Volcano, they maintained their human forms, as it was their last resort to revert to their flame forms.

Because of this trait, engaging in long-term warfare far from Qinghe Volcano was an act that could very likely cost the Blazing Fire Clan their lives.

After Qinghe Volcano was occupied, even if they wished to assist the Beastman Army elsewhere, they found it incredibly challenging to do so.

The Prime Minister of the country expressed his understanding but hoped they could offer support in the war, which is why he obtained Warm Fire Stones from the Blazing Fire Clan.

The Blazing Fire Clan also promised the country’s Prime Minister that after retaking Qinghe Volcano, they would still help Wansheng Country wherever possible.

Entering the passages of Blazing Fire City, Chenshui could feel the traces of heat flowing through the air.

And this heat was enough to maintain her flame form.

This passageway utilized the light emitted from the Blazing Fire Clan’s flames, refracting and reflecting as much as possible off the walls, illuminating the way.
