Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 498: Chapter 498: Are You Teaching Me How to Do Things?

Holding the Racial Essence in his mouth, Lotcar returned to where Bai Jin and the others were staying.

After resting on the spot for a while, Lotcar carefully handed the silvery Racial Essence to Bai Jin for safekeeping and had Bai Jin unfreeze half of the ice encasing Chi Sheng and Duolong, allowing them to shout for help.

The Silver Teeth Clan had an excellent sense of smell and hearing. Even if they were not freed, they could quickly trace Lotcar by his scent.

But by releasing Chi Sheng and Duolong, their voices would immediately spread throughout the forest, allowing the other members of the Silver Teeth Clan to find Lotcar’s approximate location more directly, without taking detours.

The plan had already begun. Lotcar did not know the state of Yang Yu, but he believed that, given the Plant Clan’s way of doing things, there was a very good chance that they would have Yang Yu participate in the Plant Clan’s autumn festival. Depending on Yang Yu’s performance at the festival, they would make their final decision.

The Plant Clan’s autumn festival had begun in the morning. Lotcar had to race against time, leaving the village earlier so he could arrive at the Plant Clan’s village sooner and hand the Racial Essence to Yang Yu, thereby increasing Yang Yu’s chances of victory.

The Plant Clan’s autumn festival was said to involve only the young, but the Plant Clan’s definition of young was quite broad.

In the Plant Clan, anyone under fifty who was in good health could be considered young. Who knows what kind of monsters and spirits might appear.

If a member of the lower species of the Plant Clan successfully evolved into an upper species, gaining a lifespan of several hundred years, indeed, an age of fifty could certainly be considered young.

Yang Yu’s Attack was always frail, despite having learned two Attack Skills, he remained weak, making it extremely hard for him to win in these one-on-one duels.

Lotcar did not know if their clan’s Racial Essence could become the key to Yang Yu’s victory, but as long as it was used, it should at least lighten the burden on Yang Yu, making him more accomplished.

Quickly passing through the forest where his clan was located, Lotcar took the shortest path directly toward the Plant Clan’s territory.

Little did he know, under the moonlight, a multitude of shadows lay hidden, watching their every move and transmitting the images into the Magic Peeping Mirror made by Tu Jing.

Like bats hanging upside down from the trees, Tu Jing suddenly opened his eyes, his head snapping ninety degrees to the right,

”Finally, they’ve come.”

The creepy, cackling laughter echoed through the forest, startling a flock of birds.

Two days ago, Tu Jing had already arrived at the forest near the Silver Teeth Clan with his subordinates, lying in ambush on the path from the Silver Teeth Clan to the Plant Clan.

Tu Jing and his men thought they had arrived quite late and had even prepared to intercept Yang Yu and his group returning from the Plant Clan. Little did they know that Lotcar and his group would only set out for the Plant Clan’s territory at this time.

This was a rare opportunity.

The pivotal man of their group was not among them. Although Kenro had always warned Tu Jing to be cautious of that man, Tu Jing did not take it seriously.

In his view, Kenro’s failure was solely due to some unknown cause that enraged the Red Blood Rose’s Gordon.

Without Gordon’s intervention, Kenro would have accomplished the task assigned by the Sect long ago and would not have needed to make the trip himself.

Barely concealing his glee for long, Tu Jing’s gaunt, nutcracker-like face darkened. In the Peeping Mirror, a group of silver-haired Beastmen doggedly pursued Lotcar, swarming toward the Plant Clan’s territory.

Although Lotcar’s clan and the Curse Sect had no connection, the Silver Teeth Clan was one of the key pawns of the Middleman.

If they indiscriminately slaughtered the Silver Teeth Clan, it might provoke the Middleman’s disgust, severing their ties.

To completely awaken the Demon and allow more Demons to descend to the Mortal World, the Middleman’s power was indispensable, despite his own disdain for Demons.

But as long as the Middleman also wanted to continue prolonging the war, there was still room for cooperation between them, and it was not yet time to sever their relationship.

Thanks to the Middleman’s blessing, the number of new believers in the Curse Sect was steadily increasing, and negative energy continued to flow in abundance, which could become excellent nourishment for the Demon Lord.

”This is tricky.”

Tu Jing straightened his head without showing any sign of anxiety on his face; on the contrary, like a madman, he began to laugh loudly, plunging his slender fingers into his disheveled hair and fiercely scratching,

”I wonder if they have noticed our presence, or simply dislike our clan....”

”Giggle, giggle, giggle.”

”It doesn’t matter what kind it is.”

”It all doesn’t matter, the Strength I’ve brought with me is completely sufficient.”

”As long as that thing is obtained without interfering with the progress here, there won’t be any issues.”

”Giggle, run! Little puppy, just keep running.”

”We’ve already grasped your trail; even if you flee to the ends of the earth, you’ll never escape from the palm of my hand.”

”All that’s needed is patient preparation.”

Just as Tu Jing was gleefully happy like a baboon that got its fruit, a dark shadow emerged from behind him, standing atop the upside-down shoulders of Tu Jing.

From the shadow came Kai Bu’s voice, devoid of any warmth,

”Tu Jing, there’s no need to hold back as I had previously instructed. It doesn’t matter if a few people die. No, in fact, it’s best if a few do die!”

”Giggle, giggle, giggle!”

Tu Jing let out a piercing laugh, which suddenly stopped. His wide-open eyes, hollow and haunting, chillingly demanded:

”Are you teaching me how to do things?”

Kai Bu’s heart clenched at the other end of the shadow.

”I’ve said before that I would have a sense of propriety, and I will.”

”Our previous few communications, you said to avoid starting a battle in the villages as much as possible, and I agreed because we, too, don’t wish to fight in the villages.”

”You don’t think that’s because of your pleading, do you?

You don’t really believe that the reason we’re not fighting in your villages is your doing, do you?

Hahahahaha, I didn’t say it at the time because I just wanted to see the look on your face, thinking you’re saved.”

”If we really decided to exterminate your clan, do you think you’d still be able to speak so calmly like now?”

After laughing, Tu Jing’s eyes whirled about, and he suddenly grabbed the shadow in Kai Bu’s hands, which simultaneously transformed into a black snake, crawled up his palm, and coiled around Kai Bu’s neck.

Although Tu Jing wasn’t physically beside Kai Bu, it was as if he was whispering right into Kai Bu’s ear,

”Remember your place; you aren’t worthy yet to adopt such an attitude towards us. We have our ways, and it’s not your place to point and command.”

”You just need to obediently obey us, assume the position of Clan Leader, and willingly offer everything to us.”

”That way, we won’t meddle with you or your clan.”

The shadow clutching Kai Bu suddenly vanished, yet Tu Jing’s laughter still echoed through the room, lingering for a long time. Kai Bu knelt, violently coughing a few times before he could free himself from the choking and slowly rise from the ground.

Anger crawled over Kai Bu’s fierce face, obliterating his once handsome features. He kicked away the piled-up documents, his sharp claws shredded the surrounding furniture into pieces, wantonly unleashing his fury all around.

”Lotcar!

Lot! Car!

If it weren’t for you, how would I be subjected to such treatment!

If you escape death and dare to come back alive, I will personally tear you into pieces!”
