Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 295: Chapter 295: I’m Not Interested in Money

On the matter of constructing a new instant communication system, Yang Yu and Fuer conducted in-depth discussions.

Based on the knowledge learned in the real world, Yang Yu spoke logically, bringing out countless generations’ worth of solutions that conformed to popular aesthetics and usage habits, laying them out for Fuer to reference.

However, the electricity that powered those solutions was completely replaced by Yang Yu with more convenient magic power.

Although Yang Yu chose to be a warrior rather than a magician, he was not very familiar with the knowledge of magic power.

During his conversations with Fuer, this gap in knowledge was filled.

In the world of magicians, magic power is considered a blessing from the goddess, omnipresent like air.

Their bodies unconsciously draw in some magic power from the environment and store it within themselves, ready to be utilized whenever they needed it.

But to tap into the magic power surrounding their bodies takes some time.

All major spells basically rely on absorbing the surrounding magic power and attaching it to one’s own, which is a primary reason why major spells are slow to activate.

High-level magicians can analyze magic, bypassing the design of absorbing ambient magic power, directly injecting their own magic power into the magic arrays, enabling quicker attacks.

As a trade-off, such attacks often consume more of the spellcasters’ mental and physical stamina.

Therefore, high-level magicians rarely use direct infusion of magic power for attacks unless absolutely necessary.

Individuals with a ”Magic Perception Body” physique can quickly draw in surrounding magic power to replenish their own when they rapidly deplete their magic power, essentially ignoring the side effects of direct infusion and casting spells faster than others.

The magic power stored in a person’s body, for some unknown reason, invariably carries a bit of that person’s unique ”aura.”

This ”aura” cannot be preserved for long and is easily detectable by others.

But, with prior processing, the ”aura” on the magic power can be preserved for a long time.

Currently, crystal balls utilize the preservation of this special ”aura” in magic power to facilitate communication between parties.

A standard crystal ball can preserve someone else’s magic power for up to three years. After three years, the magic power inside the crystal ball will lose its ”aura,” making further communication impossible.

At that point, it’s necessary to promptly replenish the contact’s magic power.

If this issue of automatic deletion upon time expiration could be resolved, Fuer believed their user base would greatly expand.

Yang Yu’s solution was simple.

He suggested not to focus on storing others’ magic power in crystal balls. Given the time limitations, simply assign a unique number to each product.

The next time they meet, exchanging the product number would suffice for communication, even without needing to inject magic power into another’s product. Eventually, it would be ideal to create a storage card like the Library’s contribution card to save user information for identification, which could be used to transfer all data when changing products.

The more Fuer conversed with Yang Yu, the more incredible it seemed.

This young man, much younger than him, had so many innovative ideas, all-encompassing, as if the grand blueprint Yang Yu presented was not an impulsive, unreachable imagination but a long-prepared, readily achievable beautiful future.

Fuer couldn’t help but imagine how convenient the world would become when Yang Yu’s products spread across the globe.

But...

”To achieve the future I’m talking about requires a lot of time, effort, and heaps of money.”

Yang Yu voiced Fuer’s concerns,

”This ambitious project can’t be accomplished overnight; it requires accumulation over time. I suggest you proceed step by step, overcoming one problem at a time, first creating semi-finished products for each function, gradually launching them to generate funding through sales while continuing research.

For instance, you could start by making a magic battery and casually collaborate with a few magic instrument manufacturers to accumulate connections and capital.

This path can’t be walked alone; while accumulating technology, you must also focus on nurturing various talents.

Unfortunately, I have my own matters and am not interested in research and development, so I don’t plan to participate in that.

If you don’t mind, I happen to know a commerce association; I’m willing to write you a recommendation letter. I’ve had dealings with the president there. As long as you show sincerity, I believe they would be willing to cooperate with you, helping you find sales channels for your products.

You also don’t want this product to be confined to the Library, right?”

This was an opportunity to change the entire world, not by following others but by truly standing at the forefront of the era.

Honestly, Fuer had no interest in money; he had never even touched money. His happiest moments were as a child, when he would hold a book and read from dawn till dusk.

If it weren’t for the need for contribution values to advance to an advanced member of the Library and the fact that money could be converted into contribution values, Fuer wouldn’t have tried to devise various ways to make money.

The emergence of emoticon packs had given Fuer hope for a fast advancement, leading him to immerse himself in the manufacturing and selling of emoticon packs crystal balls, but he never expected to find joy and fulfillment in it.

Just thinking about people without magic power being able to communicate anytime, anywhere, excited Fuer immensely.

With such tools, the public’s fondness for the All Things Library would soar, making them realize that the current Library serves not only magicians but all of humanity.

”Much obliged.”

Fuer paused for a moment, then brewed another cup of tea for Yang Yu,

”After discussing so many ideas, Mr. Yang Yu seems to have never mentioned his own demands. Since Mr. Yang Yu has provided so many ideas, what do I need to pay on my end?”

Without understanding each other’s needs, collaboration couldn’t begin, Fuer knew well.

Yang Yu smiled, ”What I want isn’t much, but it isn’t little either. If you indeed manage to produce the product I’ve described, I hope to receive one percent of the profits. Of course, I don’t want to take away one percent of the profits just based on a few ideas.

The money you plan to give me as an apology, plus roughly seven million from my pocket, I am willing to invest this amount as your startup capital. If necessary, I will invest more.”

Fuer was momentarily stunned. Although such long-term research indeed required a lot of money, he hadn’t expected Yang Yu to put forth so much cash to invest in this project at once. Fuer was flattered and double-checked to make sure Yang Yu hadn’t misspoken.

Fuer breathed a sigh of relief and began to laugh,

”I am willing to accept your conditions. I’m not interested in money, even fifty percent of the profits would be fine. As long as it completes the small gadget of your dreams, I consider everything worth it.”
