Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 290: Chapter 290: The Absence Now Does Not Mean the Absence in the Future

”Yo, Lotcar. Long time no see.”

Making sure no one was eavesdropping, Yang Yu greeted Lotcar while circling the cage that held him prisoner.

Lotcar lay motionless in the cage, allowing Yang Yu to size him up.

After completing a circle, Yang Yu said with utmost certainty,

”You must not be an ordinary Silver Wolf but a member of the Silver Teeth Clan, right?”

Lotcar slowly closed his eyes, a calm expression on his face, acting as if he couldn’t understand a word Yang Yu was saying.

Seeing Lotcar’s indifferent attitude, Yang Yu simply relayed the intelligence he had gathered in Fairyland.

”The Silver Teeth Clan is a secretive Beastman Clan from Wansheng Country, possessing the magical ability to shift between beastman and giant wolf forms.

Though they have such a magical ability, this Beastman Clan generally maintains their beastman form as much as possible, only revealing their giant wolf bodies during certain significant ceremonies.

The number of times humans have glimpsed the full extent of this secretive clan can be counted on one hand, and descriptions of the Silver Teeth Clan’s wolf form are generally summed up as a strange silver giant wolf.

But such a vague description is far too general; many demons could also be described as strange silver giant wolves.

Within the Silver Teeth Clan, the transformations of each Beastman vary, which only further complicates the task of distinguishing members of the Silver Teeth Clan from the multitude of silver giant wolves.

Moreover, the Silver Teeth Clan dwell deep in the forests of Wansheng Country, living a life reminiscent of an idyllic paradise.

Even knowing that the Silver Teeth Clan can transform into huge Silver Wolves, no one is able to link the silver wolves wandering in the forest with the mysterious Silver Teeth Clan of Wansheng Country.

But for me, differentiating the two is no difficult task.”

Yang Yu didn’t know what impact this matter would have on Ying Luo and Lotcar, but if it were within a game, some characters, after facing persecution, would resolutely choose to leave and start a new life.

Ying Luo and Lotcar might do the same.

Lotcar had fallen into this plight, and there must be some Hidden Task related to him.

If Ying Luo were to take Lotcar and leave without a word, it would take quite an effort to locate them again.

Therefore, to avoid trouble, Yang Yu had chosen to research the Silver Teeth Clan’s data before leaving Fairyland, looking for an entry point to undertake the Task.

As expected, Yang Yu’s thoughts were correct.

Missing such an obvious Hidden Task would be foolish.

The Silver Teeth Clan is a mysterious Beastman Clan of Wansheng Country, and according to the records in the Library, they are a Special race between beastman and demon, very likely to uncover the mystery of the origin of both demons and beastmen.

But the Silver Teeth Clan is highly xenophobic; even before Wansheng Country and the Luo Ze Empire went to war, it was difficult to trace their whereabouts.

Therefore, to this day, there isn’t much information about the Silver Teeth Clan in the books of the Library.

However, based on the illustrations recorded in the books, Yang Yu could finally be one hundred percent certain that the beastmen of this world were the Sub-human Race with beast ears and tails, humanoid in form.

Not the kind with long fangs, green skin, shouting ”For the Tribe,”—that Beastman Species.

Nor the often depicted males with no females, constantly thinking about how to reproduce their offspring.

It’s said that if that nation was indeed dominated by green-skinned orcs, then the attackers of the elves were probably not human troops...

After all, in many private notes that shouldn’t see the light of day, green-skinned orcs and blond-haired, blue-eyed elves have always been considered a perfect match.

After all his talking, Yang Yu realized that Lotcar still had his eyes closed, lying quietly in the cage, completely oblivious to what Yang Yu was saying.

Yang Yu wasn’t angry, instead, he threw a heavy bombshell at Lotcar,

”I have a way to lift the curse from you, if you really don’t plan on acknowledging yourself as a member of the Silver Teeth Clan, then forget it, all the things I just said can be considered as playing the lute to a cow.”

Lotcar’s ears twitched slightly, he slowly lifted his body and gradually opened his mouth, a faint voice emanating from his throat,

”Is everything you said true? Do you really have a way to lift the curse on me?”

With an unchanged smile on his face, Yang Yu boldly stated the fact, ”To be accurate, there definitely will be a way in the future.”

Upon hearing this from Yang Yu, Lotcar realized that Yang Yu had deliberately said that just to make him speak,

”You’re quite the braggart. Then I want to ask you, what curse am I under right now?”

Since his true identity had been figured out, Lotcar no longer hid it; the young man in front of him was much more capable than he had imagined.

If Yang Yu could really specify the curse afflicting him, then the person Lotcar had been desperately searching for all this time might be Yang Yu.

Without any hesitation, Yang Yu opened the System, clicked on Lotcar’s Status Bar, and read out the details as written on the Status Bar,

”Binding Demon Curse. Skill usage costs are doubled, and if the cursed can transform, shape-shift, or alter their form, they’re forced to maintain that form and suffer a 20% reduction in attributes. Am I wrong?”

Upon hearing the words ”Binding Demon Curse,” Lotcar finally opened his eyes fully, scrutinizing Yang Yu before him.

Back when he was afflicted with the curse, he had no idea what its name was until later, he heard its true name from the mouths of those behind the scenes.

Now Yang Yu being able to name the curse without hesitation suggested that he knew about this type of curse to some extent and perhaps, as he said, although there was no solution now, a method might definitely be found in the future.

The problem was that he couldn’t see what Yang Yu’s intentions were for approaching them or understand the purpose behind initiating conversation with him.

”You’re right; I am indeed under such a curse, which is why I’ve always maintained this form.

But why would you suddenly strike up a conversation with me?

Even knowing I’m from the Silver Teeth Clan, there’s no need to go out of your way to talk to me, much less to help me lift the curse upon me.

What exactly is your goal?”

”Of course I won’t help you without expecting something in return. As you can see, my companions and I are adventurers who act in our own interests. The reason I want to help you resolve your curse is that I see it as potentially profitable.”

Yang Yu smiled,

”Even if you currently have nothing, I believe that once you return to your tribe, you’ll be able to offer something that interests us.

That’s why I was willing to spend such a precious potion to help you.

If you agree with me, let’s discuss, what can you give me in return?”
