Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 277: Chapter 277 Don’t rush me, don’t rush me

The black creatures swirling above were gradually diminishing, and Kaka slowly let out a sigh of relief.

But he couldn’t be completely at ease yet.

If he couldn’t fully eradicate the Black Energy within the relic, he feared that after thousands or even tens of thousands of years, a second ”Light of God Destruction” could emerge again.

There was a Human willing to help them, and they had to seize this opportunity to thoroughly eliminate the Black Energy.

After exchanging a few words, Yang Yu agreed with Kaka’s idea.

Following that, Yang Yu walked over to the sleeping Iyas and Bai Jin, gently tapping their cheeks with his hands.

Iyas suddenly woke from her dream,

”Hake!”

She called out her brother’s name, frantically scanning her surroundings for a familiar figure, only to see an endless flower field.

”What exactly is going on? Was everything just now an illusion?”

”Yes, it was all an illusion. Now that you’re awake, get ready to move to a new location.”

The sudden voice startled Iyas, but when Yang Yu’s figure reflected in her eyes, an indescribable sense of relief flooded her heart.

However,

The true illusions brought by the ”Despair Devour” were still vivid in her memory.

She was frightened that if they didn’t find Hake quickly, the dreams could turn into reality.

As Iyas’s heart began to waver, Bai Jin slowly opened her eyes.

Her gaze followed up Yang Yu’s arm.

With his familiar face reflected in her eyes, Bai Jin did not speak, only slowly stood up to assess her surroundings, and then hid her right hand behind her magic robe, her thumb’s fingernail digging into her forefinger’s flesh.

The pain stimulated her nerves, allowing Bai Jin to confirm this was indeed reality.

She couldn’t help but step towards Yang Yu, wanting to tightly grasp his hand.

But that step never fell; instead, she slowly retracted it, her gaze falling and she remained silent.

”What’s wrong, Bai Jin? Are you not feeling well?”

Yang Yu noticed Bai Jin’s abnormal behavior and casually opened her Status Bar.

Her Status Bar was blank.

This abnormality stemmed from her heart.

Constantly tormented by despair cruelly, unless one had a special fondness, most would become withdrawn.

Frankly speaking, in that endless, difficult game, Yang Yu almost became withdrawn himself.

But his desire to complete the game had overcome the withdrawal, helping him safely pass through the despair.

”Don’t dwell on what happened in the dream, just treat it as a mere nightmare and forget about it.”

Bai Jin nodded to Yang Yu, yet her face displayed an extremely eerie smile,

”Hehe, you’re right, just treat it like a nightmare, just a nightmare, and there’s nothing to be afraid of. I won’t be defeated by any nightmare, for I am a Curse Mage, making others have nightmares is my daily routine.

As long as I make others have nightmares, I can continuously harvest their negative emotions, making me grow stronger.

I am a merchant of nightmares, how could I be defeated by a nightmare?”

Seeing Bai Jin return to her usual self, Yang Yu reached out to her small head,

”If you don’t mind that’s good, our goal is to completely eliminate the Black Energy. There’s still a lot of it in the ruins, you’re going to be busy later.”

This time, Bai Jin stepped back, actively avoiding Yang Yu’s hand,

”Don’t comfort me like this, age-wise, I’m actually older than you. Even if I am not useful this time...

Just give me a little more time, just a little more time, I will definitely become an excellent magician, one that won’t lose to anyone.”

Clutching her magic wand tightly, Bai Jin spoke with determination, though her heart was constantly wavering.

Despite telling herself over and over that she wouldn’t be abandoned by the team, she still saw such a miserable future.

She would absolutely not accept that kind of future.

Noticing Bai Jin’s hands trembling as she gripped her magic wand, Yang Yu slowly moved closer to her and brushed aside her messy bangs, then his left hand fiercely flicked her forehead.

”Ouch!”

The intense pain from her forehead made Bai Jin involuntarily cover her forehead, tears welling up in the corners of her eyes,

”What are you doing!”

Seeing Bai Jin’s body no longer trembling, Yang Yu just grinned,

”Don’t keep such a stern face, wanting to get stronger is good, but getting stronger doesn’t happen overnight.

There are many people in the world stronger than you, and you can’t surpass someone’s decades of effort in just a moment; you need to make progress step by step.

Don’t worry, as long as you stick with me. I guarantee your strength will skyrocket like a rocket, and in a few years, you’ll surpass others and become a top-notch.”

”What you’re saying is really contradictory, saying that someone’s decades of effort can’t be surpassed instantly, then saying in a few years you can surpass others, what exactly do you mean?” Iyas said grumpily.

”Ah? Reading too many books makes one bold, now you’re giving me lessons?” Yang Yu chuckled, ”I don’t see a problem with what I said, a good leader can keep leading the team to get stronger, and I am even more capable than you think.”

Iyas crossed her arms, ”Sometimes I think you’re really thick-skinned, that’s completely boosting your own worth. Although I must admit, I have indeed learned quite a bit from you, but that compared to what I’ve accumulated myself looks a bit like a drop in the bucket.”

”Who exactly is thick-skinned? Don’t forget, who was it that rescued you from that gloomy laboratory? Who taught you how to live in the Human World?”

”I do thank you for that.”

Iyas pouted,

”But, since following you, I have been working hard, just as initially agreed. So, could you, considering all my hardships, once this issue is resolved, go find my brother.

Only by rescuing my brother can I continue adventuring with you with peace of mind.

Also, I’ve realized, adventuring with you requires a readiness to face death. I really don’t want to die mysteriously without having saved Hake.”

”Don’t rush me, don’t rush me. I’m doing my best, trying everything I can to secure the Advanced Member pass of the All Things Library.”

Yang Yu helplessly scratched his ear,

”But I’m not sure if the All Things Library will let us become Advanced Members after perfectly solving this issue.”

”Ha?”

”Perhaps, because of this issue, we might get unilaterally condemned by the Library and thrown out.”

”Ah???!!!” Iyas felt her head buzzing again, she couldn’t understand Yang Yu’s words, ”How could we possibly be thrown out? Even jokes have limits. We should count as having indirectly saved the world, the Library wouldn’t really want to condemn us, right?”

And Yang Yu just shrugged, his expression ambiguous, ”Who knows?”
