Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 292: Chapter 292: I Don’t Want to Be a Tool Man Who Takes the Blows

Ying Luo had spent a lot of time with Lotcar, and even if initially their feelings were ambivalent, they had turned genuine over the years.

It wouldn’t be an overnight separation, they needed some time.

When Yang Yu decided to search for the Silver Teeth Clan’s records in Fairyland, he considered this as well.

In fact, Yang Yu had thought about having Ying Luo, the Monster Tamer, join the team and move together.

However, Ying Luo had made it clear in every aspect that she was just an ordinary Human, without any talent, specialty, or bonuses.

Such a character could only be used for menial tasks in the early stages. In the late stage, when facing enemies with attributes of several thousands, her blank slate character would only become a burden, turning into a shield-bearing tool man, moving serenely.

Besides, even if Yang Yu truly decided to use Ying Luo as a tool man to shield himself, Lotcar would not agree.

From Lotcar’s eyes, Yang Yu could see Lotcar’s guilt towards Ying Luo; he would never allow Ying Luo to be involved in danger.

Thus, Yang Yu completely gave up on recruiting Ying Luo.

Once Ying Luo submitted the correct documents, the guard took the keys and opened Lotcar’s cage.

Lotcar, moving his sturdy limbs, walked out of the giant cage, swinging his body side-to-side, clearing the dust from himself.

Ying Luo had observed all that had transpired, and after Yang Yu and Lotcar had conversed, they really got along well.

To get on better terms with Lotcar, she might consider learning the beast language from Yang Yu.

”How did the chat go?”

”Better than expected. Everything that needed to be said, has been said.” Yang Yu yawned greatly, ”Sorry, Miss Ying Luo, I didn’t sleep last night and I’m a bit sleepy now. We won’t stay much longer, we’ll chat next time.”

”Thank you for everything you’ve done for us.”

Bowing to thank Yang Yu, Ying Luo turned and climbed onto Lotcar’s back.

The occasional cool breeze reassured Ying Luo, also reminding her of something someone had entrusted her with. She pulled a letter from her pocket and threw it to Yang Yu,

”There’s something I almost forgot to tell you.

A man named Fuer Maling is looking for you.

I heard he’s been held up by the Crystal Ball business and other matters, only recently finding time. Hearing you were holding a press conference, he immediately came to find you but arrived just too late to see you.

Then, he spent the whole day yesterday looking for you, still to no avail.

After asking around, he found me, thinking you would surely come looking for me, so he asked me to give you his address.

If you have time, consider visiting this address.

Or else, let me know when and where you might appear, and I’ll pass it along to him when I deliver the Library Newspaper in a couple of days; he’ll come to find you when he’s free.”

With Ying Luo’s reminder, Yang Yu recalled that indeed there was such a man.

He and Tico had jointly launched that emoticon pack Crystal Ball.

It was likely that Fuer wanted to sit down with him and discuss how to expand the emoticon pack business.

Such an opportunity, where others came offering money, Yang Yu certainly wouldn’t refuse.

Since the other party intended to visit him, it showed Fuer Maling was ready to lower his stance and have a good talk.

Without question, Yang Yu, as he had anticipated, held the upper hand.

”Alright, when I have time, I’ll visit the address on the letter.”

...

...

In the simple villa, Fuer Maling sat alone in front of the coffee table, swinging the handle of his teacup back and forth with his right hand, seeming somewhat restless.

With his left hand, he opened an envelope and repeatedly confirmed its content.

The letter was sent by his uncle and simply bore three words,

”He has come.”

Fuer knew what his uncle meant and understood who the ”he” referred to in the letter; the gentleman would likely visit the All Things Library soon.

Perhaps, he would also add a significant touch to the Library Conference.

On the coffee table, there was also a thick notebook.

It contained the information Fuer had painstakingly gathered.

Princess Eena Setis of the Sethis Kingdom.

She was the key figure who could recognize that gentleman, and Fuer’s notebook was mostly filled with intelligence about her.

Princess Eena Setis was hailed as a once-in-a-thousand-years Magic Potion Maker. She was not only adept at creating various types of restorative potions but also skilled at inventing attack-oriented magic potions.

It was said that at the age of ten, she had invented two types of magic potions; those two potions appeared ordinary and each had its effect. However, when mixed together and left for some time, they would cause a massive explosion powerful enough to obliterate a village.

Because of her genius and her status as a princess, many records in the library were about her.

Still, her abilities didn’t quite match those of the real geniuses on the Genius List.

The so-called Genius List was personally compiled by the head librarian, Artie Roosevelt, updated periodically.

It compared the younger generation of the continent, ranking them from strongest to weakest based on ability, thus predicting the likely victors of the next Dragon God Conference.

Generally, every champion of the Dragon God Conference had previously appeared in the top three of that list.

The Genius List was somewhat subjective, but its analysis was cogent and it held significant reference value. Many youths aiming for the Dragon God Conference would specifically check the recently updated top three positions.

Besides, this ranking list also enjoyed a popular fan base among the general public.

Although Princess Eena was a genius in potion-making, she clearly couldn’t compare to those renowned geniuses in combat capabilities, so her exclusion from the list was justifiable.

After a detailed investigation, Fuer had essentially figured out Princess Eena’s physical features and personality.

Princess Eena possessed slightly curly, orange-yellow long hair, pure blue eyes, an angel-like face, approximately 1.58 meters tall, weighing 49 kilograms, well-proportioned body, with a visible mole behind her right ear, truly a beautiful woman in the making.

Regrettably, Princess Eena’s personality was hard to sum up in a few words.

From the current data, she was exceptionally skilled at disguising herself, always presenting her best side even among her own people, concealing all flaws.

She was also a person with strong jealousy, inclined to destroy what she could not obtain.

This conclusion wasn’t directly obtained from books but from analyzing numerous documents about Princess Anna.

The All Things Library had a tradition of dispatching recorders to human kingdoms.

These recorders would document every detail of the royal family’s life, preserved in special archives.

Fuer had put in considerable effort and labor to access such information, which allowed him to analyze what kind of person Princess Eena was.

Also, through analysis, Fuer had also come to understand why the Sethis Kingdom had chosen Princess Eena as a partner for the Hero.
