Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 258: Chapter 258 I Suspect We Have a Mole Here

Light of God Destruction’s eyes were filled with mockery; he emanated black beams akin to lasers from his eyes, targeting Bai Jin and Iyas who dared to attack him.

The black beam moved incredibly fast, too fast for Bai Jin to dodge. Left with no other choice, Yang Yu had to use his body to block the attack at full speed.

Copper Wall Iron Curtain and Steel Body skills activated simultaneously, boosting his Blood Volume and providing Damage Reduction. However, the attack from Light of God Destruction still managed to reduce nearly a quarter of Yang Yu’s blood.

”How is it? Can you feel the gap between our powers now?”

Yang Yu, putting aside his shield, stared at Light of God Destruction. In the dictionary of Light of God Destruction, there was no word for ”despicable”; it would use any means necessary to plunge them into despair.

This was quite troublesome.

”What an astonishing power.”

Yang Yu had no trace of fear on his face; instead, he smiled as his words brimmed with admiration,

”But to think that this amount of power would fell me; it is far from sufficient. I know this isn’t your limit. To easily defeat me, you’ll need to increase your power a bit more. And the moment you do, that will be my time to counterattack and decide the outcome!”

After giving a casual order to Bai Jin and Iyas behind him to open fire, Yang Yu propelled his legs and, while his buffs still lingered, charged toward Light of God Destruction.

Light of God Destruction brought his hands together, summoning the surrounding Black Energy in preparation for a countering strike.

”Thorny Binding!”

Yang Yu’s sword tip swept through the grass, causing thorny thorns to grow from the ground and entangle around the arms of Light of God Destruction.

It took some time for Black Energy to materialize, and Light of God Destruction struggled forcefully to break free from the thorns, flinging his twisted black arms.

Light of God Destruction knew that such slow attacks would surely be dodged by the agile Yang Yu, but its intention wasn’t entirely in the attack—it merely wanted to create a momentary lull in attack to pull his other hand free from the thorns and continue to channel Black Energy.

But Yang Yu didn’t even attempt to dodge; instead, he took the heavy punch directly with his chest. Simultaneously, he raised his sword and slashed down, leaving a shallow diagonal cut across the chest of Light of God Destruction.

Yang Yu did not pause there. In the brief moment Light of God Destruction’s attack hesitated, Yang Yu activated Sudden Killing Intent, significantly increasing his speed and dodging the other claw thrown by Light of God Destruction, fastening his shield onto the back of Light of God Destruction.

A stream of Black Energy gushed from the mouth of Light of God Destruction.

Only now did he realize that Yang Yu wasn’t merely boasting. Even though he had learned quite a bit from a past civilization, because that civilization was too advanced, the most warfare skills he had acquired over the years were sheer power oppression and underhanded tactics; he hadn’t learned any close-combat skills.

Light of God Destruction plunged his hands into the ground, and it seemed like Yang Yu was pinning him to the ground in just a few exchanges.

In reality, Light of God Destruction was merely extracting the Black Energy that was gathering continuously beneath his feet. Despite having wings, he chose not to fly but rather to slowly accumulate the dispersed Black Energy.

Feeling his physical strength swelling for the first time, Light of God Destruction experienced a sensation known as pleasure.

It was all thanks to creatures like fairies, beings created specifically to measure Magic Power, that Light of God Destruction could absorb such a vast amount of Black Energy at once.

Seeing this scene, Yang Yu seemed to be deliberately waiting for the Light of God Destruction to absorb the Black Energy as his attack paused for several seconds, only resuming once he saw the attribute of the Light of God Destruction skyrocket by nearly half.

A genuine smile appeared on his face as the Light of God Destruction extended its pinky finger. Yang Yu’s sword struck the pinky, and the Sword Blade instantly shattered.

Although the weapons in Yang Yu’s hand were the best he could buy, they still seemed too weak against such formidable Strength.

If every battle in the future required consuming a large number of weapons, even a true tycoon like Yang Yu couldn’t withstand such wastage.

After this battle, Yang Yu thought about getting a dozen better swords so that he could conveniently replace them whenever necessary.

”See? This is the gap in Strength between us. I can still improve, you won’t be able to defeat me.”

The Light of God Destruction clacked its claws together, reveling in the wonderful sensation of its body brimming with power.

Helplessly throwing aside his broken sword, Yang Yu showed a smile and took out a new sword from the System, ”I indeed miscalculated this point, but I still don’t think you can easily defeat me. You need to become even stronger!”

Meanwhile, in the special Countermeasures Committee meeting room in the Library, a meeting was vigorously underway.

Before the meeting started, someone had contacted the Fairy King Kaka of Fairyland to discuss a statement.

However, upon hearing their voices, Fairy King Kaka merely smiled and told them that even if it weren’t their own people who were sent, they were outstanding and should be able to solve the source of the Darkness soon. Once the source of Darkness was resolved, the fairies would be completely liberated and no longer enslaved by humans.

Upon hearing the words of Fairy King Kaka, almost everyone was immensely surprised; they had never expected the usually gentle Fairy King to speak so aggressively.

But the change in the Fairy King’s demeanor was secondary; the focus was on the trio within Fairyland.

”How did those three people sneak in? And who leaked the secrets of Fairyland to them?”

”Only we members of the Countermeasures Committee know the whole truth, nineteen people in total. I suspect there is a mole among us! Someone definitely whispered the secrets to those three, sending them to assist Fairyland.

What bastards! Don’t they know that the services of Fairyland are one of the foundations of the Library’s rapid development? Only by tightly controlling it can the safe and enduring development of the Library be ensured.”

The speaker was a man with a shoehorn hairstyle, named Lockrose Shrimp; he was one of the Law Enforcement Team’s main backers,

”Hurry up and investigate! Once those three come out, we must capture them and bring the mastermind to a proper trial.”

”Trial? What charges do you plan to use for the trial? Don’t forget, the results of the trial must be publicized to the rest of the Library. If there aren’t credible charges, just framing them will result in the same outcome as what happened today.”

The speaker was none other than the ageless elder Barona,

”If it were just an ordinary member, we could secretly deal with them, but he is now a big figure in the Library. Any underhanded actions might damage the Library’s reputation.”
