Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 270: Chapter 270 Inside Help Aligns By Coincidence

The ”Cleaners” produced in Fairyland were, in fact, a mixed bunch.

Some fairies were deliberately let go by the Light of God Destruction; some truly had conquered despair once; while others were directly manipulated by the consciousness of the Light of God Destruction.

Those Cleaners who were directly manipulated by the Light of God Destruction might have slightly changed personalities, but this didn’t draw much attention from others.

That’s because, as long as one truly overcame despair once, the Black Energy would find it difficult to affect them again.

Cleaners who ”escaped” from despair were often assigned to vital positions combating the Despair Breath, which gave the Light of God Destruction the opportunity it sought.

After years of plotting, the Light of God Destruction finally seized the chance to execute its plan.

It intentionally opened the doors of the hospital wards, inducing a deeper level of corruption, causing chaos in the hospital, and forced Kaka to act, successfully transferring its consciousness into Kaka.

If Yang Yu had not appeared, everything would have gone smoothly.

Whether escaping or staying to completely dominate Fairyland was a minor detail.

But ultimately, the Light of God Destruction was exposed by the unremarkable man before it.

Years of painstaking work went down the drain, a bitter pill for anyone to swallow.

The Light of God Destruction felt nothing but hatred towards Yang Yu, erecting walls with spikes on all sides, closing inwards, intent on completely crushing Yang Yu to pulp.

However.

Li Yan, who was searching for the Light of God Destruction’s weaknesses from outside, noticed something odd with the Black Giant Dragon, feeling a new presence within the dragon.

He remembered this presence.

During the last Library entrance exam, when Li Yan saw the man who had cleared the Underground Maze, he deliberately took note of the aura emanating from him.

During the meeting, when Baronaco produced the list of those who had intruded into Fairyland without permission, Li Yan also showed a flicker of surprise.

No one knew how they came to learn about Fairyland.

Maybe they had deduced it themselves through collecting intelligence...

But even if they could collect some evidence suggesting something beneath the Library, it was absolutely impossible to deduce that what lay underneath the Library was Fairyland.

As for someone scheming in secret to get them into the Library to deal with Fairyland, that was even more preposterous.

Li Yan had also secretly investigated how Yang Yu entered the Library and became a rising star with perfect clarity.

That man named Yang Yu had no backing, relying solely on his own ingenuity to gain his current fame.

If someone knew he had conquered that large underground city, perhaps, they truly might have extended an olive branch to him.

The problem was, Li Yan to this day had not told anyone else that the Tamer of that extensive Underground Maze was Yang Yu.

”Had he come prepared? Could it be that he gained some enlightenment within that underground city, knowing that Fairyland existed beneath the All Things Library?”

Shooting a Blazing Fire Bomb at the Black Giant Dragon, Li Yan struck the weakening Black Giant Dragon while glancing at Tico, who was still watching and reluctant to leave, and sent a Telepathy,

”Tico, my instructions have not changed; remain at the ready and take action according to the situation. I just have one question that I need you to answer for me. Has the person named Yang Yu mentioned to you anything about his experiences in the Underground Maze?”

Tico didn’t know why her master was inquiring about Yang Yu at this time, but if those pieces of information could aid her master, she was willing to disclose everything she knew in detail.

”Master, he indeed talked to me about it. He discovered quite a few things in the Underground Maze...”

After listening to Tico, a light flitted across Li Yan’s profound gaze. His intuition told him that everything happening now was within the calculations of that young man.

Based on the description by the Fairies, that young man had seen through Kaka’s dark possession at a glance and pointed out the purpose of the Darkness.

Combining this with what Tico mentioned, he must have had some kind of revelation in the previous Underground Maze.

Perhaps, that young man had known all along how the Darkness would evolve, and that even with reinforcements, it would be impossible to crush the Black Giant Dragon from the outside. It had to be disintegrated from within.

That young man had deliberately allowed the Black Giant Dragon to swallow him as a ruse, so he could search for an opportunity within the belly of the Black Dragon.

Now, he must have sensed the attack from this side and, deeming the time ripe, awoken inside the Black Dragon to weaken its strength.

As long as they could join forces with that young man for an inside-out battle, the scales of victory would tip.

Though he could not confirm if his thoughts were accurate, Li Yan decided to believe in this idea.

The movements of the Black Giant Dragon had become noticeably slower; it was likely struggling to deal with the disturbance happening inside. The best course of action for Li Yan was to prevent the giant dragon from focusing on dealing with the changes within.

As long as they could buy time, that young man would bring a cataclysmic change to the tide of battle.

Li Yan gathered Magic Power around him without concern for his old bones and launched high-intensity Magic spells, each strike heavily hitting the weak points of the Light of God Destruction.

Before the attack brewing inside could be unleashed, repeated high-intensity Magic spells turned the spikes formed within the Light of God Destruction into a mass of murky Black Energy.

”Don’t come over and disturb me!”

The pitch-black Dragon Breath spewed from the mouth of the Light of God Destruction, with an extremely wide range of attack, forcing Li Yan to momentarily halt his offense.

The Light of God Destruction gained a brief respite.

Without the support of the Fairy King, it was becoming increasingly difficult for the Light of God Destruction to manipulate the corrupted Cores.

Each corrupted Core could be considered both a Fairy and a mass of Black Energy.

After several generations of inheritance, the King of Elves, being the leader of the Fairies, had a natural suppression over ordinary Fairies despite his diminished Strength.

That was why, over the years, the Light of God Destruction had coveted Kaka’s body rather than simply taking any Fairy to commence the fight.

Now that Fairy King Kaka had escaped his predicament, it would not only reduce its Strength but also gradually decrease its control over the black Cores.

Should those black Cores lose its guidance, they were likely to have a mutually repellant reaction, leading to the disintegration of the Black Giant Dragon’s body.

Flapping its wings, the Light of God Destruction hurriedly fled from Li Yan. All it wanted now was to quietly find a place to completely dispose of Yang Yu before making a comeback.

Of course, Li Yan couldn’t let slip this golden opportunity to completely eliminate the Black Dragon; he did not wish to plant a ticking time bomb within the Library by resorting to a Sealing.

The fiery red Dragon Horns greedily absorbed Magic Power from the surroundings, and Li Yan employed Acceleration Magic, chasing after the Light of God Destruction.
