The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1691: Chapter 1691: I Knocked and Saw the Kingsleys Family

The blond man said nothing and pulled out his phone, making a call.

Meanwhile.

Commerce Alliance Headquarters Office.

Torre had just returned to the office and hadn’t even sat down yet when the phone rang beside him.

He took off his leather gloves, his gaze sharp, and picked up the receiver: ”Hello, how did it go?”

”I’m done!”

Torre frowned deeply, moved the receiver away to look at the number dialed in, and responded with a bad tone: ”What do you mean?”

Before he could finish his sentence, the other party was equally impolite.

”I should be asking you what you mean. What, trying to get us killed?!”

The other party was so furious.

Torre was left bewildered by him: ”...What are you talking about, I don’t understand.”

The other party let out a bitter laugh, seemingly amused by anger, and questioned in a different tone: ”Alright! You don’t understand, huh? Let me put it in a way you can understand. Didn’t you tell me that Nathalie Quinlan had no background? Do you know you almost got me killed today!”

Torre suspected the other party was deliberately causing trouble: ”...”

He hadn’t had time to speak.

He heard the excited voice of the man on the other end of the line: ”I went to the hotel according to the information you gave me, do you know who I saw when I knocked on the door?”

”Who?” Torre didn’t think he could see anyone, picked up the documents on the desk with one hand, and asked nonchalantly.

”Humph!” Once again, the other party let out a bitter laugh, throwing out a name: ”Kingsleys Family.”

”I knocked and saw someone from the Kingsleys Family.”

”Who did you say?” Torre, who had been distracted while listening, suddenly put down the documents in his hand, his expression solemn, eyes sharp with shock and more with doubt.

”I saw someone from the Kingsleys Family, and it was someone from the main family!”

”...” Torre didn’t believe what he was hearing.

The other party didn’t care whether he believed it or not, and said indignantly: ”You told me she had no background, which is why I went straight to find her, but it ended up attracting someone from the Kingsleys Family. Luckily, I ran away quickly, otherwise, if I had been a bit slower, I might have been done for today!”

”Are you sure you didn’t see it wrong? How could someone overseas know someone from the Kingsleys Family?” Torre still didn’t believe it.

”Heh, did I see it wrong?” The other party coldly laughed, seemingly not wanting to talk to him anymore: ”President Torre, just assume I saw it wrong!”

”Anyway, I don’t know if that person from the Kingsleys Family recognized me, I still don’t know what to do next, and I just hope he won’t bother with someone like me.”

”Also, because of your matter, we got unnecessarily involved with the Kingsleys Family, so we’ll still take the money!”

The Commerce Alliance is a medium-sized power in Inderia, Torre had never suffered such disgrace, he was about to say: ”You didn’t even complete the task and still want money from me?”

”Whoever wants to do that job can do it. I definitely won’t touch it again. Also... this is the money we risked our lives for, President Torre, please stop hassling me.”

”You...”

”That’s it, goodbye!”

A busy tone came through the receiver, Torre’s face darkened as he realized that the other party had actually hung up on him.

His temples throbbed, slowly placing down the receiver in his hand, his gaze grew deep, and he called the secretary in.

”President, do you have any instructions?” The secretary observed respectfully, inquiring with lowered head.

Torre sat in the leather swivel chair, both hands placed in front of the desk, dressed in a neat black suit, face cold, and exuding a strong aura: ”Go check the background information of the group from Zenla.”
