The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1671: Chapter 1671: Nathalie: Broke and Out of Cash!

Nathalie Quinlan sat there lazily, her long legs crossed, her dark eyes scanning the message Audrick Zachmann sent, a lazy yet audacious smile playing on her lips.

She held the phone in both hands and replied to Audrick.

[QN: She probably won’t have the chance to bother me.]

That’s because Nathalie had already blacklisted Celine Tucker’s phone number along with her WhatsApp, so even if Celine wanted to find her, it was probably impossible.

After all, it’s Audrick’s mom, so Nathalie didn’t elaborate.

She sent another message to Audrick.

[QN: Are you feeling any better? Has my teacher been visiting you regularly for checkups?]

Audrick hadn’t replied yet.

But the person who hadn’t replied to the message before directly called her on a video call.

Nathalie raised her eyebrows slightly, staring at the flashing video call on the phone, propped her chin on her hand, placed the phone on the table, used a cup to keep it steady, and pressed the answer button.

Amadeus Yancey’s internet connection was quite fast.

The video flickered for a moment and soon switched from a completely dark screen to a bright and spacious hotel room background; by her estimate, it was at least a suite, much better than where she was staying.

A black leather sofa placed there, spelled ’wealth’ in capital letters!

She got up to grab a bottle of water and sat back down again.

When Nathalie sat back down, she could see the lens was fixed and no longer shaking, giving her a rough idea of the situation on his side.

Alfred Garland was there too.

However, he was talking to someone not far away.

Nathalie couldn’t hear what they were saying, but from Alfred’s furrowed brows, she could guess it was related to Amadeus’s reason for being out on this trip, likely discussing business.

Opposite Alfred stood a familiar face.

It was the man she had run into several times at the Rhine, exuding an intimidating aura like a knife long soaked in ice, sharp and dangerous.

The feeling he gave was identical to the group she had met in the hotel lobby!

She didn’t expect him to be there as well.

Nathalie slightly raised her brow, retracted her gaze, and shifted her focus back to the person who called her on the video.

”Hmm, why the sudden video call?”

”I was busy earlier, just saw your message on WhatsApp, so I decided to video call you...”

The young man’s eyes betrayed a hint of weariness, seeming not well-rested, a faint hint of blue beneath his eyelids, but his striking looks meant a little weariness didn’t detract from his appearance, still eye-catching enough to be almost criminal.

He paused slightly, his thin lips curled up in a somewhat cheeky manner: ”...Checking up on you.”

Nathalie: ”...”

”Just kidding.” Amadeus Yancey’s eyes relaxed as he rested his hand on the back of his head, leaning lazily back on the sofa as he video chatted with her, a chuckle seemingly escaping from his throat: ”Have you arrived at the hotel?”

Nathalie, caught by his charms, felt agitated, casually twisting the cap off a bottle, put her legs on the table, and murmured: ”Just arrived.”

Through the video, Amadeus could roughly assess the condition of her hotel: ”Why not pick a nicer room?”

Nathalie lifted her eyelids, her pupils rebellious and wild, calmly responded: ”I can’t help it, I’m broke lately, no money.”

Amadeus went silent for two seconds, his deep, gravelly voice low: ”Send me your bank account.”

”...”

Even though Amadeus knew it was unlikely Nathalie was really broke, his expression was utterly indulgent: ”I’ll send you money.”

Nathalie paused in the middle of drinking water, capped the bottle, set it back on the table, her gaze wandering, her face wild and unrestrained, yet it was clear she felt uneasy: ”No need, I was just joking.”

She was just making a joke; there was no way she’d actually take his money.
