The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1661: Chapter 1661: I Heard There’s Also a Spot to Go to Inderia in China

Amadeus Yancey’s gaze swept across her glossy lips, pausing for a moment, but he didn’t clarify, only saying, ”It’s nothing. You’ll find out later.”

Nathalie Quinlan found him inexplicable, speaking in half-truths and keeping things mysterious, unwilling to be clear.

She wasn’t someone who liked to dwell on things. Since Amadeus only said half, she was too lazy to dig into the other half.

So she just said ”Oh” quite cheerfully, ”Let’s talk about it later then!”

Amadeus Yancey’s deep-set eyes saw the girl’s defenseless appearance, and his smile deepened unconsciously. He reached out to take the towel from her, straightening her shoulder, ”Sit properly. I’ll dry your hair. Keeping it wet for long can give you a cold.”

Nathalie was not often taken care of this way, and she was used to looking after herself, her shoulders were quite stiff, but she didn’t move around, ”Hmm.”

Amadeus’s long hands casually wiped the droplets of water from her hair with the towel, reminding her, ”Remember to drink that glass of milk on the table.”

Nathalie was feeling a little drowsy from his gentle hair-drying, her sleepy eyes half-closed, responding lazily, not really wanting to move.

And indeed, she didn’t move.

Didn’t really want to drink it.

But Amadeus, still thinking about her being 20 by age, gently urged her, ”Be good, get up and drink a little, just a little. You’re still growing, you won’t have to drink it next year.”

”...” Nathalie heard him mention next year again, initially wanting to ask what exactly was up with next year, but she was too tired, and the thought flashed through her mind and was gone.

Though she was quite unwilling, she still reached for the glass and absentmindedly drank half a glass of milk.

Zachmann Family.

The family had been busy with moving homes for days, and the four-story villa was cluttered with things, looking quite disordered at a glance.

”Caryn, did your assessment results from the Pharmaceutical Association come out? How did you do?” Celine Tucker was video calling Caryn Zachmann from the living room sofa.

Hendrik Zachmann just came down from the second floor and heard Caryn Zachmann’s cheerful voice.

”Not bad, I got first place.”

”You got first place?!” Celine Tucker stood up with a start, gesturing excitedly, more thrilled than Caryn herself, ”That’s great, Mom knew you could do it, you’re the best.”

Her peripheral vision caught sight of Hendrik coming downstairs, and she couldn’t hide her joy, calling out, ”Hendrik, come here. Your sister got first place in the Pharmaceutical Association’s assessment. Don’t you want to say something to her?”

In the past, Hendrik would surely congratulate Caryn and encourage her to keep it up.

But this time, Hendrik appeared unusually indifferent, heading straight to the hallway, saying, ”You guys talk, I need to check on Audrick.”

Celine Tucker’s eyelids twitched violently. She wanted to say something but, with the video call with Caryn still ongoing, it didn’t seem appropriate to speak.

She could only watch as the young man walked out the door.

Caryn naturally heard their conversation. She was walking towards the dormitory, having just left the Pharmaceutical Association, her cheerful expression cooled a bit, but she stayed calm, ”Is my brother mad at me?”

”Don’t worry about him; he’s just grumpy as a dog. It’s probably something to do with Maybelissa not going well. It’s got nothing to do with you, don’t overthink it.”

Celine Tucker was displeased, changing the topic, ”By the way, I heard there’s also a slot from the country to go to Inderia this time. I wonder who it will go to.”
