The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1689: Chapter 1689: Someone’s Knocking Again

After Jaycent Kingsley entered the room, he gentlemanly just glanced around briefly.

He noticed that the girl didn’t bring much with her.

The small room in the hotel only had a laptop placed in it.

Additionally, there were a few sets of clothes for changing at the bedside.

The room didn’t even have a suitcase, which showed that Nathalie Quinlan didn’t bring one at all.

”The room you’re staying in is too small, don’t you think? Do you want me to have someone change it for you?” Jaycent Kingsley always gave an impression of being perpetually gentle, and when he spoke, his eyes were always smiling.

However, if you asked Nathalie Quinlan, his smile was that of a sly fox.

The girl was still all in black, but inside the room she didn’t wear her duckbill cap, revealing her exquisite face, which was very eye-catching.

”No need.”

Jaycent raised the corner of his lips, looking at her: ”You’re not refusing to change just because you’re afraid of troubling me, are you?”

Nathalie also looked at him, her distinctly black-and-white pupils seemed to say, ’Why would you think so much?’

”My teacher and the others are staying across the hall, it’s not convenient to change. I’ll just stay in this room, it’s fine for one person.”

Jaycent awkwardly scratched his ear, smiling: ”I was just thinking of showing some local hospitality...”

He then changed the topic, looking at the girl, asking the same question as before: ”By the way, why did you come to Inderia?”

Actually, even if Nathalie didn’t say, Jaycent had already guessed some of it.

After all, she just mentioned the word ’teacher’ earlier.

Jaycent figured Nathalie probably came with some international research team.

So after Nathalie briefly explained to him, he had an ’as expected’ expression on his face, turning his head just as he said: ”So you haven’t gone out for a stroll these two days? What’s your plan for the evening. If you’re free, I can take you out for a spin and also treat you to dinner.”

Nathalie leaned against the table, one hand in her pocket, her eyebrows and eyes lowered, the crow-black eyelashes covering the emotion in her eyes, she seemed indifferent, just as she was about to tell Jaycent the reason she came to find him.

Who knew there would be another knock on the door.

This time, the knocking was fast and urgent.

They’re here!

Nathalie’s eyes turned cold, a corner of her mouth curled, the curve both sinister and arrogant.

”Who is it?” Jaycent happened to be closer to the door, he didn’t wait for Nathalie to open it, and went to open the door first.

When the door was opened.

There were a few people wearing hotel staff uniforms outside, and as soon as they saw him, they seemed like they’d been struck dumb, standing in place.

”Uh, hello, excuse me...is Ms. Quinlan staying here?”

Jaycent immediately sensed that something was off about them.

His expression didn’t change, one hand barring the door, not moving aside, with a smile on his lips, though his eyes were incredibly sharp: ”Are you from the hotel?”

The group was already sweating bullets, their faces pale, and their eyes flickering intensely.

”Are you from the hotel?” Jaycent asked again.

”...”

The leading blonde man stammered: ”Ah, sorry, we might have the wrong room number.”

”Didn’t you say you were looking for Ms. Quinlan?” Seeing his reaction, Jaycent’s smile deepened, and he spoke lightly: ”If you’re looking for Ms. Quinlan, then you’re in the right place. This is Nathalie Quinlan’s room, what do you want?”

”...”

The group was so scared they didn’t dare meet his gaze, almost unanimously shaking their heads vigorously: ”Sorry, sorry, we got the wrong room, we got the wrong room.”

”Sorry to bother you, we’ll look again.”

With that said, as if afraid that Jaycent would continue asking questions, they were terrified, fleeing as if running for their lives, not even looking back.
