The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1663: Chapter 1663: Ms. Quinlan Knows Quite a Few People

In the living room, a young man with an aura of storm and stress several times saw the girl come down to get things.

This time he finally couldn’t resist, his gaze fell on the girl’s casual back, and he lowered his voice, ”Is that the Ms. Quinlan Felix mentioned before? Does she know people from the Pharmaceutical Association? And had a dispute with that Ellen Quarles from country m?”

His appearance is more masculine compared to Alfred Garland, with a prominent scar on his face.

But his demeanor is imposing and solemn, exuding an intimidating presence cultivated through licking blood from the edge of a knife; the scar on his face did not mar his looks, but instead distinguished him from other men in Beijing.

Alfred Garland was very respectful to him and made him a cup of tea.

He had just put down the teacup.

Upon hearing Vincent Moore’s words, Alfred Garland turned to look at Nathalie Quinlan, who had just opened the refrigerator door and was nonchalantly fetching water. Before Amadeus Yancey could say anything, he spoke first, ”Ms. Quinlan knows quite a few people.”

”...”

Vincent Moore raised an eyebrow and looked incredulously in the girl’s direction.

He looked from left to right, up and down, but no matter how he looked, the other party seemed like an ordinary person, with nothing particularly special.

Vincent Moore withdrew his gaze, simply ignoring Nathalie Quinlan, and turned to Amadeus Yancey, who was sitting cross-legged on the other side of the sofa with his leg propped on the tea table, and said in a low voice, ”We’ve already found out who hijacked the Yancey Family’s goods this time. It was a small gang. Initially, they seem to have no background. Inderia is full of such small groups of desperadoes, often engaging in robbery and hijacking.”

”However, even though they’re just a bunch of ragtag people, they’re not entirely brainless.”

”At most, they rob small families with no background or goods from businessmen developing in Inderia. They wouldn’t touch families they can’t afford to offend.”

Vincent Moore felt inexplicably annoyed, picked up the tea, and said, ”This time their behavior was very odd. I captured one of them, and that little lackey insisted that before they weren’t aware they were robbing goods from the Yancey Family. They thought it was a small businessman’s cargo... But the Yancey Family’s goods are rare earth, with the Yancey Family’s mark on them. They insisted they didn’t know, didn’t recognize it, they’re just telling me ghost stories~!”

Amadeus Yancey had a calm expression all along, with no reaction.

His gaze wasn’t on him, but continuously watched the girl fetching water near the refrigerator not far away.

He noticed the girl skillfully taking a bottle of cold water from the fridge, raised an eyebrow involuntarily, and said with piercing eyes, ”Nathalie, you forgot what I told you a few days ago.”

The girl’s action of twisting the cap paused, and she seemed to glance over somewhat irritably.

Amadeus Yancey seemed in a good mood: ”You can’t drink anything cold these days. I’ve put some water at room temperature for you. Drink that first.”

Vincent Moore still had a bellyful of things unsaid, seeing that Amadeus wasn’t listening at all; he twitched his eyelids and again looked towards the girl’s direction.

”Be good, hang in there a bit longer.” His lips drew up slightly, his voice coaxing.

”...”

The girl paused for a moment in silence, and then swapped the cold water in her hand for room-temperature mineral water. She closed the refrigerator door and didn’t come over to them, instead taking the water and heading up to the second floor.

Amadeus Yancey watched the girl go up to the second floor before slowly withdrawing his gaze and turned lazily towards a speechless Vincent Moore, asking, ”Where’s Ian Edbert, found him yet?”

Vincent Moore pulled back his gaze, momentarily unresponsive, and after a brief moment he shook his head with a somber expression, ”No.”

”Ian Edbert is nowhere to be found, and the goods we recovered don’t match up in count. More than half are missing!”
