The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 290: Chapter 290: Just Happening to Return to Beijing_1

He was worried that Nathalie Quinlan set her sights too high and would feel let down if she didn’t get into Tsinghua University.

Audrick Zachmann shared the same concern, looking at her and saying, ”Yeah, Nathalie, why don’t you think it over again? The independent admission exams at Tsinghua University aren’t easier than the college entrance exam. Their math papers even often pull questions from the pool of Olympiad problems. With just a few spots open and thousands of applicants, it’s not that easy.”

Only Amadeus Yancey, with his deep and narrow eyes, glanced at her and asked in a composed and calm manner, ”How do you plan to travel to Beijing? By car or airplane?”

McKinney isn’t far from Beijing, with high-speed trains taking a few hours and airplanes even faster, reaching the destination in two or three hours.

Nathalie Quinlan actually got a bit dizzy on planes; she didn’t like the feeling of weightlessness, but compared to sitting on a high-speed train for seven or eight hours, she readily chose the former: ”I’ll take the airplane. I’ll buy the tickets online in advance.”

Amadeus Yancey curved his thin lips, rested his hand on the table, and said leisurely, ”No need, I just happen to be going back to Beijing in a month as well. Send your information to Alfred Garland, let him book the tickets for you, and we can go back together.”

”...”

Nathalie Quinlan’s eyebrows furrowed suddenly, a hint of hesitation flashing in the depths of her eyes.

She had some private matters to attend to in Beijing and didn’t want to go with them.

Amadeus Yancey, as if he could see what she was thinking, said lazily, ”Anyway, since you’re going to Beijing and I’m going too, it’s just about sharing the ride.”

He put it so directly that it would seem petty of her to decline. Nathalie Quinlan pursed her lips and, lifting her gaze, said, ”I’ll send over my information in a bit.”

No sooner had she finished speaking than she added, ”But we might not be traveling at the same time.”

She didn’t know the exact date of Tsinghua University’s admissions exam; once she found out, she would travel there at most two days beforehand.

It wasn’t necessarily going to coincide with their schedule.

Amadeus Yancey didn’t say much. He naturally said, ”Let’s wait and see. If the timing works out, we’ll go together. If not, let Alfred Garland buy the airplane tickets you need.”

Nathalie Quinlan glanced at him quickly and promptly said, ”If the timing matches, we’ll buy them together, if not, never mind, I’ll buy them myself.”

Owing too many favors can become a psychological burden!

Amadeus Yancey looked at her beautiful, snow-white profile, the corners of his mouth involuntarily lifting, a light ’hah’ escaping him. His predatory eyes, deep as the ocean with flickers of light hidden within, seemed as if they could engulf someone whole. He casually poured her a glass of water and passed it over, his thin lips curving slightly as he thought to himself, no rush.

When cornered, a rabbit might bite.

Creatures like cats, when cornered, might not bite, but they will certainly vanish without a trace.

He had always been a patient hunter, willing to wait!

Right then, the waiter conveniently brought the dishes, and the steam rose from the tomato soup. The waiter asked Edric Yancey what he liked to eat and started placing his preferred dishes into the clear soup side...

Shortly after, foods like ham sausages were tumbling in the soup base.

Only Audrick Zachmann and Alfred Garland were still immersed in the matter of persuading Nathalie Quinlan to reconsider participating in Tsinghua University’s independent admissions, not coming back to reality for a while.

What was going on? They were still persuading Nathalie to reconsider a moment ago, and now the two of them had already made arrangements for the airplane tickets to Beijing.
